The first time I drove through the entrance of Firefly Horse Company and Equine Therapy, I didn't know I was about to start a journey that would change my life forever.
It was a blue-sky day with breath-taking 360-degree Montana views. In this spectacular setting, split rail fencing outlined pastures that separated boarding horses from therapy horses, plus a barn and two indoor riding arenas. Everything inside and outside was immaculate.
But it was the work that went on in this setting that was to bring a change in me. A team of authentic, educated, patient, compassionate and strong women united to guide me to a place of healing and wholeness. My only responsibility was to be open to the techniques of equine therapy and to be willing to do the work necessary to achieve my goals. And it succeeded.
I am especially grateful to three women who guided me on this journey. Therapist and owner Julie Kiewatt, therapist Cathy Curry, and equine assisted learning specialist as well as barn manager Cathy Foppiano who always has a smile on her face. Their dedication, discernment, wisdom and vulnerability to stay in my truth helped me to change my life, soul and spirit forever. read more
