The lady who owned The Button Tin appeared like Mr Benn just as I took the photo, and proceeded to introduce me to her wonderful world. A fabric designer, she teaches people to sew on the many machines she has inside. There were wonderful parasols and vintage machines. She was working on some hen party stuff too. It still has its loyal clientele though - needlework fans, various members of my family who have taken up knitting - I knitted my boyfriend a hat but all my friends laughed at him so now his sister has it, shame.. Anyhoo, it also has an awesome selection of buttons. Aren't fashion mags always telling to 'update' your 'wardrobe' by sewing new buttons on things. Well here they all are, more buttons than you could scare my old Art teacher with. She was scared of buttons.

You park at the side of the building (there are signs saying 'Craftzone Parking') and then walk back towards the road, and go into the building up the steep ramp. When you get to the top of the ramp, turn left and you're there! It's a massive craft shop and they sell just about everything - people travel miles to get here and it really is worth a trip. It's sometimes quite messy and there is so much stuff, so you really need to have some time in your hands to make the most of your trip! the staff are really friendly and will always give advice etc if you need it. Anything you need for arts & craft or decorations they have it and with some good choice!
