I took the photo before I knew what I was looking at. I just loved the building! The square centre…read moreshop is surrounded by mostly empty, but stunning little units. It would suit a cafe. The lady who owned The Button Tin appeared like Mr Benn just as I took the photo, and proceeded to introduce me to her wonderful world. A fabric designer, she teaches people to sew on the many machines she has inside. There were wonderful parasols and vintage machines. She was working on some hen party stuff too. Great idea for something a bit different. I only got the one pic but I may be back soon so I'll pop in. She has some great ideas to help the building become a hub of design and quirky places. - very cool indeed.

You park at the side of the building (there are signs saying 'Craftzone Parking') and then walk back towards the road, and go into the building up the steep ramp. When you get to the top of the ramp, turn left and you're there! It's a massive craft shop and they sell just about everything - people travel miles to get here and it really is worth a trip. It's sometimes quite messy and there is so much stuff, so you really need to have some time in your hands to make the most of your trip! the staff are really friendly and will always give advice etc if you need it. They also do workshops, I'm not sure when but all the info will be on the website. Price wise it's pretty good value, but its the range of stuff thats really the best thing about the shop. Anything you need for arts & craft or decorations they have it and with some good choice! I've now been in a few times when I need to pick up bits and bobs or essentials for work i.e. scissors etc. Loads of interesting present and gift ideas in here as well so if you're out and about birthday shopping or it's coming up to christmas - I'd say Fred Aldous is a great option with some similar style stuff to Oklahoma! Most of the stuff here is well priced and I've always been fairly surprised that my total wasn't higher when purchasing as I think the interior and style gives off an expensive vibe but really it's good value for money!
