We are a third generation Camp Firwood and The Firs Day Camp family. It's wonderful to have such a fun-filled environment in a beautiful setting on Lake Whatcom. I would yap with them while I was resting between sets but would try and keep it short to be able to finish using the machine. Someone comes up to me and says something along the lines of are you using this machine while i was getting up to switch with my friend. I said yes I have one more set and my friend is just starting. They tell us to stop talking so much and hurry up, we say sorry and let him use the machine to avoid any trouble. They walks away and another person goes up to them and says I glad you said something they are taking too long. On another occasion, someone was rushing us off machines by standing and watching us workout. It was very awkward and I will not be going back!

The only way I'd be back is to receive a refund and use it for the North Coast Academy business across the street.

I believe you can book the dinner separately if you choose. We went with the midday tour that included lunch. Really pleased to see this is still going as it has been a thing for almost 100 years! I had fond memories of this tour and thought it would be fun for my wife to experience it since she didn't grow up in the PacNW. Booked the tour along with some friends and Mother Nature smiled on us and gave us some spectacular weather. It's a bit of a drive from Seattle but well worth it. There are some fun diversions along the way if you want to stop and get some farm fresh eggs and vegetables too. The north cascades national park is great for camping! As part of our camping trip we decided to do…read morethe boat tour that takes our around the dams and you get to learn about the history of the area. You're on the boat for about an hour. Did you know that about 20% of the electricity in Seattle comes from these dams? We were able to book a tour for the day after, but I recommended calling in advance as they also have the morning tour which includes lunch and seems to book much faster. We did that one a couple of years ago. There several hike trails, we did the one that ends by the water falls which was fairly easy. There are black bears around but we didn't run into any. There is also access to the water if you like to kayak or float. Oh and near the visitor center they have WiFi!

The teachers are so kind and my son always says that he loves his teachers. I feel extremely lucky being able to drop my son off somewhere that I feel he is safe and cared for. The school is also very clean, the kids are expected to always wash their hands and I have never seen the school messy. They also feed healthy meals that are organic and my son always enjoys the food. They do fun activities like having fire trucks visit the school, go on field trips and play outside every day! Overall, a great school to send your child! Based on my son's attitude, he is cared for and loved there every day and he is always so excited to be going there!
