The one tree offers a bit of shade to people who want to stand or squat underneath, but it would be nice to have a bench underneath it! The park itself is nice, as it has a bit of a grassy area in which to play or run around. A small, cement pathway surrounds the park, allowing children with walking toys the opportunity to walk around it. It's small, so children are easily seen from any corner of the fenced in area. The play structure is fun, and gives opportunity for adventure, but slightly older toddlers can hurt themselves when trying to explore, as their heads can hit the slide top and cause tumbles down the stairs (not a wide enough space between the slide and the end of the topmost stair).

There is a lodge available to rent, changing rooms and bathrooms, several levels and hiking trails. Plenty of tables in sun and shade. Paddle boat, canoe, row boat and kayak rentals. I'm really glad I did though, this park is incredible. So many things for kids of all ages! Lots of fun structures for tag, lots of slides, lots of interesting toys you don't see many places. It was a windy and chilly autumn day with the orange leaves and green grass contributing to an overall magical feel. In the time I spent strolling around the park I was the only one about and about on foot. A large grassy area was encircled by a paved path with trees closer to the edges of the park. Benches speckled along the paved walkway provided places to sit. A cluster of amenities abutted a tree-covered hill with small trail system. Included was a covered picnic table area, a playground, and a swing set with swings both for the young kiddos and more adult size. It was a pleasant place to go for a stroll.

But Waypoint Park was not far from a brewery that we went to and we wanted to go take a walk afterwards. Of course the main calling card here is The Acid Ball, an old piece of equipment from a lumber mill which I believed was used to relieve pressure for wood chips during processing... but don't hold me to that. Anyway I remember where the ball used to be and saw that it was relocated to this park which isn't all that far from where it was. I saw pictures and apparently at night reflective lights shine upon it giving it all kinds of lighted looks and effects but it's still quite impressive during the day too. There were other highlights here too as the park is directed towards a waterway and towards the west you can see Lummi Island and the water. A very pleasant park to go to and it was very peaceful during the time we spent here though I'm not sure if it's like that all the time as it's by apartments (or perhaps condominiums) but it certainly was a fun stop!

I took the walk here and it was vacant which was so gorgeous. The seagulls and the pier, and it was so dang clean! Like my goodness. Took my shoes off and waded in the water for a bit. The landscaping is really something else. Take in that salty bay air and dip your feet in the water!

Theres a small parking lot for about 8 or so cars and it wasn't busy on the weekend I went. European outdoor art exhibits inspired this artist to start his own sculpture garden. There definitely could be a lot more art but theres statues tucked away in small paths that you have to meander through so take your time exploring. It's a cute neighborhood attraction and if you're around it's worth checking out but I wouldn't recommend going out of the way to visit. Dogs are not allowed.
