I have distanced myself from IPA'S for a short time as they are everywhere but in late Spring and early Summer I have gotten a hankering for them once again and so here comes the IPA'S rolling back. Flavors to have fun with in this flavor profile here are hoppiness, floral, some maltiness and a sweetness of a natural sort. It was very refreshing and the color of the beer is nice and bright. I suppose that description could also be added to the flavor profile as well. A nice introduction into this brewery and hopefully further beer experiences with Higherground in the future!

My husband ordered the fish n chips, served crispy and hot, Sawtooth Ale battered cod. We washed everything down with a couple beers - namely their super popular Dirt Church hazy IPA and Huckleberry Honey Ale. On our way out, we bought a couple 6-packs for later; the brown haired lady that helped us at the bar was super cool and gave us a couple stickers. Overall, a great experience. Sometimes these types of beers can be pretty sugary and be a bit much. But that wasn't a problem with Huckleberry Honey Ale. Yes, it was sweet. No doubt about it but it wasn't it's dominant feature which was great and made this fruit beer a fun one to drink. Flavors to play around on your tongue with this beverage are sweet, fruity, honey and subtle. The subtle is probably the mechanism at play where nothing comes off too heavy handed , making the flavor profile well balanced. The beer is light bodied which is great as the summer time temps crank up the thermometer the light bodied beers are most appreciated.

I would have appreciated stronger leadership during seating and dining, as service requires a touch of polish. Nonetheless, the local Embered Beets tipped the scales on my typical avoidance - the earthy taste is brined and balanced after firing, served along with gently sweet goat cheese speckled in fresh cracked black pepper topped with savory (crunch!) granola & radish micro greens. Another local pick - Premium Filet Mignon from Billings is fresh from the range, tender enough to cut with a butter knife, and coated in bruléed blue cheese that blends with rich jus. Comparatively the 24-Hour Potato is showy but bland compared to the effort & ingredients involved.
