I was surprised to see a sazerac on the cocktail menu (the vibes are more basic bar beverages) but it is indeed on the menu. I ordered it and it was a beautifully rendered sazerac. For our appetizer we ordered and enjoyed the burrata. The burrata was creamy, delicate, and balsamic drizzled. It's served with small garlic toast and was a wonderful start to the meal. For my main, I got the caesar salad with salmon added. The caesar was chopped (no overly large leaves of romaine to contend with), crisp, and perfectly dressed. The addition grilled salmon topped it off to make a wonderful and filling meal. The service was attentive and efficient. The atmosphere is deceptive-at first glance it has a basic sports bar dining room vibe--but, check out the sunken fireplace with soft bench seating. The fish was great. The breading was very crispy and the pieces were decent size. The potato pancakes were more like hash brown patties that had some onion flavor and I liked that. Mugshotz is definitely bar first, grill second. There were only four tables outside the bar area and the bar area was packed and loud. I didn't see anyone waiting tables for the first 20 minutes I was there, but once we were waited on and they did an ok job checking in. Food took a little longer than expected given how few tables they had, but I assume the kitchen is just as small. The menu is outdated; both the cheeseburger and up charge for fries cost a $1 more than what's on the menu.

The event was so much fun here at Panga. It's somewhat organized from inside the bar area. You could make a donation to American Heart Society, or not. I only had a Bloody Mary drink here after the plunge. Delish! I like spicy, and needed a little something to eat after the 36 degree temp water. In my opinion, the service was fantastic considering how many (100+) people were there to eat and drink. This place was packed inside and outside. I was able to maneuver my way to the bar (thanks to many nice patrons who let me through the crowd), and order some drinks. The bartender was super sweet, quick to get my order to me, and made sure I had all I needed. There were 4 bartenders that I saw behind the bar at this event, all busy busy bees. This bar is on the lake, down off the frontage road, with many local lake customers. Its rustic. Don't expect anything fancy here. The locals are happy, and they welcome visitors. I'm going to find a night to visit this bar again, check what else they have to offer patrons, and I'll talk to more bartenders. The bar was nowhere near slammed -- maybe 30% capacity -- yet the staff seemed lost and confused, and the service was painfully slow. No real attempt at customer service from anyone. This was our fifth visit, so I'm not writing this lightly. I don't know if ownership changed or something happened behind the scenes, but the place we used to enjoy is gone. We had a couple of sandwiches and an appetizer, and asking for a second beer felt like too much to handle. Hope they figure it out. We won't be rushing back.
