Honestly one of the worst experience with a trade company I've had recently…read more My wife and I were in the process of buying a home and there was water issues in the crawl space that needed to be remedied before the sale went through, so we called this company to have them waterproof our foundation. After the $13000 bill and "finish" of the project we noticed water still in the crawl space and our back step mysteriously pitched towards the house. We didn't think much of it because we had bigger projects to tackle. Fast forward a few months and it's time to figure out what happened. We call and explain the situation, and somehow it doesn't fall under warranty. They offer to come look at what's going on and potentially have to finish the project, for another $1500 plus $1000 to take out the step. We consider this to be ridiculous and attempt to take the step out ourself (which we do after another week of back breaking work), only to discover that they dug under our step, likely the cause of the collapse and pitch towards the house and only placed 6 inches of barrier without even attaching it to the house. Now after about 5 calls with no contact back I'm for ed to leave this review warning other homeowners from working with this crooked company. PLEASE STAY AWAY.

I never got a call from him when things went sideways. He never visited the site after selling me the job. In the end - I would use someone else for my next drainage project.

BEWARE!!!! WOOD STOVE ENTHUSIASTS…read more.. After a long search in my area for an installer of a wood burning stove (purchased from a well known company) I found Hancock Chimney Service. All of the other companies would not install due to the fact the stove was not purchased from them.. Hancock would. Hancock Chimney charged $99 off the bat to come take a look, then they would send a quote. If I ok-ed this, the $99 would be taken off the total, otherwise you were out of luck - basically locked in. I was quoted $6,000. High end from my research. With obviously wanting the stove, I agreed to have them install. End of October 2022 was set for installation. They had called for the stove manual to be sent before installation, so it was HAND DELIVERED to them. Installation date was approaching and after many attempts to reach the installer to go over what I needed and when to expect the installer, I finally received a call TWO days beforehand. The installer ASSURED the 2 pieces I did not have (hearth & stove board) would not hold up the job. Morning of installation came and the two installers spent half the day measuring where to place the stove and looking in boxes of parts. They informed me that unforeseen parts were needed (couple elbows & straps). They were going to pick them up and return the next morning business as usual and get this thing installed!!! The office called the next morning.... $1,700 ADDITIONAL CHARGE, for the few pieces. That was the end of this disaster. Classic bait and switch.... To make this even more of a scam, they sent an invoice for $1,400??? WTF Having worked hard for a living, I understand paying the two workers for their time. But that is just unreasonable for what "labor" they did do (approx. 6 hours). They really expected me to pay a total of $1,499 for an incomplete job and a run-around. UNPROFESSIONAL! Shady company. When they finished, you could not tell they had been here, except the chimney exterior looked great. Mortar joints repaired and sealed, an old ash door removed and replaced with a stone that matched the chimney. They're coming back to work on our driveway pillars next. CB Wilson came to our house in September 2024 to give us an estimate to remove our wooden front…read moreporch and replace with concrete steps and a possible patio. My wife also requested a separate estimate to remodel our kitchen later in the future. Wilson later sent my wife an estimate for the kitchen and included a figure of $17,000 to $18,000 for the front porch but did not itemized it. My wife requested a breakdown of the costs which he never sent. Wilson had his designer, Julie, come to our house in October 2024 and she spent about 15 minutes entering information into an app on her tablet. It took over a month for the designer to send a design and this design was wrong. my wife requested corrections and the designer said it was easy to change on the app. The second design was wrong again. My wife emailed them in December 2024 but received no response. In February of 2025, my wife was contacted by the designer but my wife advised her that we found a different conta and would not need their services. On March 14, 2025, my wife received an invoice from CB Wilson Construction demanding $2,000 for 40 hours of design services. We are not paying this ridiculous bill since they did no work and the designer did not complete the design - which should have taken About 40 minutes not 40 hours! We are filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Michigan LARA. My wife recently talked to another lady who had a very similar experience with poor communication and responsiveness and she did not hire them. BEWARE!
