They gut renovated both of our bathrooms, which was no easy task considering the overall age of our house, size of our bathroom, and required customization. The quality of work in our bathrooms is top notch. Their ability to proceed with care, efficiency, problem-solve, communicate, and their attention to detail is outstanding. I am usually hesitant to write a review unless I have something positive to say…read more Jack Bellan General Contractor is not a typical general contractor rather it is known for building custom-made homes. Jack and his team have built many beautifully designed homes in the vicinity of Bedford-Lexington. The workmanship, attention to detail, and use of quality materials are inherent in their work. However, Jack and his team should seriously think of opening a dedicated Quality and Warranty Department which is currently being handled piecemeal. Obviously any builder will be nice to a buyer during the building process up to closing. The lack of follow-up and not being on top of the things warranted a lower rating. Though Jack is nice to talk with, he should be proactive (e.g., warranty issue raised in the first year still lingering in the second year). When business expands, it is even more important for growing business to stay close to the existing customers. My impression is that Jack is not fully aware of what the issues previously raised, and what the status of each one. There is no documentation for keeping track of warranty related matters. It is very open ended. Bottom Line: If we were to build another home, would we consider Jack? The short answer is yes, but with reservation. As Jack has been building high-end homes, his company should be focusing on the long term customer base. If you are planning to hire Jack Bellan, make sure you understand the level of commitment that he would provide after closing.

From Chris's first site-visit that included clipboard notations and photos I was impressed. The entire process was so well managed with timely notification of the project start, the multiple subcontractor visits, and handling of permitting and city inspections. The quality of the work was first rate, and any difficulties in the project were pointed out in advance to allow for the proper solution, and without additional cost. Chris used multiple subcontractors for all specialty work that included electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, plastering, and floor/wall tile. Ergo, the finished product was pure quality. The work space was cleaned daily and all workers were very respectful and polite. Assuredly I would use Chris for any and all future projects.

I was skeptical at first but after talking to Bill, he quickly earned our trust and respect with his responsiveness and can-do attitude (and the website and recent/positive reviews on Yelp). Bill's estimate was very fair and prompt, so we went with Bill, and the positive Yelp reviews turned out to be true. It was easy to communicate with Bill, and he checked with us about new window availability and preference. Bill had a friendly and professional team with Mike and Marie, and they got the job done in one day. Bill also replaced a damaged flood light bulb and helped me find the right color paint without me asking. I also like to try to get involved hands on during the project, asking questions, helping with the clean up and lending a hand where I can, and Bill was cool with that. Based on my first home project, I would say BK Home Improvements is a reliable company to do business with. I feel lucky to have met them (thanks to my wife!) and we are very satisfied with the results. Looking forward to our next project (kitchen counter and some cabinet modifications)!

After working with Brennan, I have lost all faith in giving the young, new business owner a chance. I would pay double the amount Brennan quoted to not have had to deal with this nightmare of a project. Multiple times I heard excuses of why things were late and delayed, many times he would be "wrapping up a project" somewhere else in the morning to head over for the afternoon and just wouldn't show up. Have you ever been in jail in your own home? That's what it was like waiting for Brennan and his crew. What about the quality of the work, it must've been good with the terrible organization and admin, right? No, the work performed in our bathroom is atrocious. The more time we spend in there, the more problems we see. The work is shoddy and has no care put into it. There are scratches and dings on new vanities/tiles purchased out of pocket for the project. The list goes on and on and I am extremely disappointed and would recommend doing the project yourself before you hire Brennan.
