As with any large organization, the doctors vary in skill and personality, but that is not the basis for this review. I mentioned the Boston billing company, the last two times I went to the Harbin Clinic, to the ophthalmologist and an endocrinologist I had the same situation occur. I tried to pay at the time of service and they refused to accept any payment, 8 months later I get a bill claiming I am more than 30 days overdue and they are going to put me in collections (this is the first bill for that service I had received). So I go to my bank and have them cut a cheque in the full amount to the Harbin Clinic's billing dept in Boston. The next month I get a notice saying I am over 60 days past due, even though I sent them a cheque in the total amount 3 weeks prior. So I check my chequing account and sure enough the check has never been cashed. Both times the same pattern was followed. I contacted the billing department where I get someone demanding to be paid, I give them the cheque number they say they will research it. The billing department then calls back the next day claiming no cheque was ever presented and I need to immediately send them another one. I then proceed to contact my bank where I am told the cheque was presented for payment the day before and will clear that night and I am given an image of the presented cheque. I call back the billing department show them the cheque and they claim they did not hold onto it, it must be my banks fault. I might believe this 1x, but when it happens 2x in a row, over a year apart, that tells me something fishy is going on. If you must use the Harbin Clinic, get them to give you a physical receipt, if they refuse payment note it on the bill and have them initial it. If you can choose an independent doctor or a Floyd affiliated doctor, you will likely be better served.
