They arrived on about 15 minutes and had the tire changed in less than 5 minutes. The two men who arrived were polite and hard working. One of us is 87 years old and it was 97 degrees out. The towing/mechanical service after-hours dispatcher at Biggs had not been helpful, in fact he was SO UNHELPFUL, that I decided I would seek help elsewhere if possible. I found Industrial Tire Service (in Arlington) on Google and called Dave Anderson (541- 288-6200) around 9pm to ask him if Arlington had a mechanic. Despite waking him up, Dave got me the phone number of Paul @ Arlington Towing & Repair (541-303-3039). After describing the problem with the mechanic (the vehicle was shaking violently at speeds greater than 25mph), he suggested I check the tires. I soon realized the problem was that my interior passenger side duley tire had blown, and the other tire, holding the weight of the RV was also ballooning in one place and failing as well. I limped into Arlington in the wee hours going 20-25 mph, and visited the mechanic, who looked for other damage to the RV, before sending me next door to Dave at Industrial Tire Service. They specialize in agriculture tires so he thought he might have to drive to The Dalles (which he was willing to do) to find me some RV tires. But in the end, Dave used my spare, AND LOANED me a second tire - the only tire he had that was the same size (FREE OF CHARGE) to get me home. Neither of those ARLINGTON men charged a dime to help me and I know that even if they had charged me, their prices would have been reasonable. Their help renewed my sense that there are still decent people in the world!
