Right from the start the customer service and attitude from the salesman Richard Krebs couldn't of been worse. He told my wife and I he didn't care if we used Fingerlakes construction to build the 24X36 as he called it our "Hobby barn" since he doesn't make any money off of them and he is only interested in big projects like Dairy barns and Equestrian projects. Wow what a salesman! Their price was the best and they could work with in our timeline so we ended up going with them for the construction. The lead Foreman on the job and his crew were very nice and great to deal with. November of 2017, 5 years later and I am back dealing with FLC for an issue with all of the lower metal trim pieces rusting. The website states "40 year warranty on siliconized paint on roll form steel" When I first reached out to the office I talked with a nice guy who was going to come out and inspect the issues. A week later, lucky me, Richard Krebs the initial salesman calls me. He tells the barn is too close to the road so road salt has caused the rust. Nope the barn is 300 from the road! Then he says the barn must be below grade and sits in water. Nope that is crazy as the barn is built up and if that was true there would be standing water on the floor! So he finally says he will stop and take a look. Now knowing the attitude and terrible customer service skills from Mr.Krebs, I chose to reach out to a manager, Bill Murray. Bill has always been nice and polite to deal with compared to Richard but still hasn't really done a thing for my issue! I get another call from Richard and he says he has problems seeing the pieces with the snow (there was very little on the ground) but will replace them per Bill Murrays request. May of 2018, 6 months from my initial request I still don't have the replacements to fix the rusted trim on my barn. I have placed multiple calls to the company and have sent and saved over 25 emails. Oh if they do show up did I mention I have to replace them myself! I agreed to that months ago to speed up the process. This process has not been speedy! What warranty works makes you do the work yourself?? It would be like buying a new vehicle and having an engine problem, the manufacturer tells you we will give you a new engine but you have to change it yourself. It's been months since the parts were supposedly made for me but they can't seem to find anyone to deliver them. When this started Richard Krebs was out to my house within 2 days to give me reasons why the parts would not be covered. I get one excuse after another on why the pieces have not been delivered. At this point and the time I have invested I would have been better off taking the pieces off and having them power coated myself. Finger lakes construction no showed on a job to repair metal roof wanted outrageous down payment but still refuse to do the job eventually went out of business. Was originally the supplier of the metal roof and now is a contractor don't do business with these people slippery unethical and unable to provide any kind of reasonable service would give zero Stars if I could read more

After the job, you are the "bad guy"! Simple things like the door stops left off one of the doors. The door "blew off"... promised by the salesman, we will get to it. After 3 months and 4 promises, it still wasn't done! Even when you call, you are given the run-around. I bought TWO buildings from these guys and even if the flaw was something they overlooked when built, 10 years ago, the point is, it still wasn't done right and it took 10 years to discover that they forgot it. Both Roofs have leaked, and to be honest, it is a 'pole building' and i 'lived with it". But when a flaw in workmanship was discovered, and items were not originally installed, they acted like climbed 16 feet off the ground and removed them! (even though the other door has them installed) UPDATE: Finally after calling the office and the salesman, initials D.H., over 10 times, he finally came out and looked at it. In short, he wanted $150 to fix it, in cash. I told him that i will give him a check and all he had to do was fax me a receipt from his office, now, and i would give him a check. He said the secretary doesn't work on Friday! I said, "OK, then just write it on your business card, and that will do". D.H. told me that he wasn't going to do that either. I was amazed. So I asked him, what is he going to do. DH said "Nothing", and went on to say, "That I don't want your F-ing (yes he dropped the F-Bomb!) check, in fact I don't even want to do your F-ing job". I was amazed, and then said you have to do it. He told me to go "F-off and if I didn't like it i could call the F-ing owner of the business (by name). I did, and the owner was surprised and appoligized and had the men come back to compete the work. They completed the work, but i found that they didn't put the stops on (still shaking my head) To add insult, one of the workers, while waiting around, had a need to pry and pick at things. I found my aluminum trailer had a panel "pried" open and an antique wooden sign picked at and parts of the wood pulled off. In addition, they went into the building and cut a box open to see what was inside. I have been in sales for over 30 years and even though I am not a saint with "the boys" out at night, I have NEVER heard any salesperson drop the F-Bomb while speaking to a client. R. F.
