Unfortunately, my experience with Chef Wayne for a private bachelorette dinner was disappointing. While he was personable and his table setup was beautiful--perfect for the occasion--the food itself fell far short of expectations. The steaks were baked instead of broiled and came out looking pale without any sear, plus they were overwhelmed by a huge mound of just-about-raw onions. The tomato mozzarella salad tossed in dressing was misleadingly named, with tiny pieces of mozzarella and a dressing that covered it entirely, looking more like a soup. The chocolate brownie dessert was so bitter and unfortunately inedible, leaving the meal on a sour note--literally. What was most disappointing, however, was the response when I reached out to Chef Wayne afterward. Rather than acknowledging the concerns or attempting to make things right, I was met with defensiveness and resistance. Especially considering several girls in our party felt ill after attempting to eat the meal. We had the most wonderful experience this weekend with Chef Wayne! I traveled from Cleveland, Ohio to Finger Lakes to celebrate my 50th birthday with a group of friends and family. We rented a house and had Chef Wayne prepare my birthday feast. Everything was wonderful and perfect!!! From the table setting (which looked five star by the way), to the expertly prepared New York Strip steak, the delightfully delicious Lemon Puff Pastry along with the tasty wines served with EACH course just to name a few. The cherry on top is that Chef Wayne is very affordable. I wish Chef Wayne was in Cleveland because you cannot get a better deal for five star dining at home. So if you're ever in the Finger Lakes, NY area I suggest you give Chef Wayne a ring. Thanks Chef Wayne for making my 50th dinner celebration all the more memorable! :) read more

The meal that Chef Wayne prepared for our bachelorette party of 8 ladies was five star quality. While we were wine touring all day he was preparing our amazing meal. The smell was delicious when we returned to our rental house and the table had been set beautifully. Each course was thoroughly explained and the wine pairing, with very full glasses of wine, enhanced each of the courses. The best part was that he cleaned up everything (and he brought everything from the table linens, to pots and pans, to wine glasses, and silverware) and left the kitchen spotless. The meal (cheese and crackers, Caesar salad with the best fresh baked buns, prime rib with asparagus and mashed potatoes, and the best cheesecake) was soooo good. If I am ever out in the finger lakes region again I wouldn't hesitate to hire Chef Wayne. read more

Chef Wayne was excellent. He is extremely professional, showed up 7 hours early, brought everything he needed, and made us an incredible meal from scratch right in the comfort of our own home! His prices are a steal for the quality of food that he offers and the time and dedication he puts into each course. We were out wine tasting for the day and came home to a beautifully set table (with all of Chef Wayne's own plates, glasses, linens, etc.). He personally cooked, plated, and served each course. He explained each course before serving and had a matching wine to go with each! (Full full pours!!!) It is extremely evident the pride he takes in his services and his food. Chef Wayne came to our place in Ellicottville and cooked an outstanding 6-course dinner for our group. He was on-time, professional and the meal was second to none. Chef Wayne was very accommodating - bringing special juices to ensure the kids felt part of the group and explaining food and wine pairings wherever possible - but reading the room when people were deep in conversation, or the kids needed a break from the table.
