Second time here. It was not pleasant and relaxing at all. Gone are the offers of tea and even polite greeting. Located in a run down parking lot, this was an unpleasant experience from the minute we stepped in the door. I thought they were great a few years ago but this was nothing like our previous visit. The color selection is in a pile of little baskets on a card table by the door. They seem to snap orders to their customers and a snap on the leg to get in and out of the water tub. Believe me, no one responds well to this. Never do that again! They are busy chatting/ snapping with each other. It's like you are bothering them for a pedicure. We won't make this mistake again. Paying is an awkward nightmare. The sign at the door says they take visa. At the counter to pay is another sign that the tip has to be in cash. Also, you get a $2.00 discount if you pay cash. They have a ATM (surprise) so you can use cash. Okay, with $20's in hand, in the middle of the salon, I paid and had to ask for cash back. She doubled checked with me and no, I'm not giving 40% tips. With everyone watching, she took a while to get change. I'm starting to feel lightheaded from the heat and fumes. The fumes were terrible. Why is that allowed? The nail salon experience that used to be so pleasant has turned into a miserable chore. If anyone knows of a nail salon that graciously accepts credit cards and doesn't smell like a toxic waste site, please let everyone know. With so many nail salons in the area, you'd think some of them would step up and offer and pleasant experience. Will never return. Very accommodating for two last minute pedicure appointments. We went over and had a very relaxing time. We were offered hot green tea to start the relaxation process. The tubs are lined, so everything is immaculate. Lemon in the nice warm water. Orange scrub and message. We loved it. I liked everything here. The ladies are so nice and they are just focused on the task at hand. Two perfect matching pedicures later, we were very happy and relaxed. Highly recommend!!! read more

Found this spot on Yelp near our Air BnB. Best short nail dip manicure I've ever had! She did an immaculate job. My husband had the signature pedicure and was pleased as well! Friendly staff. We called in advance and didn't have to wait. Would definitely recommend! read more

My sister and I came in the day we were going to a wedding. I wanted to get gel on my nails and she wanted a gel pedicure. The ladies at the salon were very accommodating and nice and at us right away! I had Nancy, who did an amazing job with my nails. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she went above and beyond to meticulously design them to match the photo. Love this salon and would go back in an instant! read more

This is a WONDERFULLY good salon with a wonderful woman as the owner. This business is fairly priced, with very cordial nail technicians. They all seem to like each other, which adds to the "joy" of being there. Kim is my go-to gal; she works hard, concentrates, and is gentle. Always fantastic work coming out of that shop, and im glad i found them!. Also worthy of a mention: rather than trying to nickel & dime folks at all points, their ATM is set up so that it only costs like 50 cents, or a dollar or a miniscule amount - really a generous & kind thing to do at the sweetest level...! read more

I came here with hopes for a nice manicure, but left teary-eyed, with a couple bloody cuticles. The aesthetician who worked on me seemed like a newbie practicing on me. She didn't even apologize for over-sanding my cuticles, and instead tried to blame it on me by saying that it was my "dry cuticles" that caused that to happen...whatt?? After I left and had composed myself, I called the salon back asking if they would make a compensation for their unprofessional service which caused me pain, and they said the only thing they could do was for me to come back, have all my nails removed (which would leave them looking raw, and worse than when I came in) and THEN they would offer a refund....I don't remember the last time I received such poor service! read more

This review is for a dip manicure I just got from this place. As many others here, I used to love this salon and would go out of my way to come here for my nails. However, it seems that the quality of service has taken a nosedive in the last few months. The male nail technician that worked on me today took nearly 2 hours to do absolutely subpar work and seemed very inexperienced in dip manicures. I really don't appreciate being someone's guinea pig while they're still learning the basics. Not only did I leave with sloppy and uneven nails but he also gave me a deep cut while trying to file my pinky and took no steps to disinfect or clean the area. Super disappointing and frustrating experience and not at all what I would expect when paying $40 for a manicure. This will be my last time coming here read more

First time coming here and I love the service! I like how the staff is friendly! Service was quick as well for a full set. Quick with quality! There was no hand massage or any other quick service for mani full-set, not like any other salon so I am giving it a 4. Also the tools to use for nails are a bit dirty so I was not so happy with that as well. I will still come back here tho just cause my nails looked fab! read more

Service went down hill and the girls seem a little bit moodier now. They seemed a little bit annoyed at the fact that we booked them for 5 girls at 10am in the morning. The last 2 times I came here, my shellac nails lasted less than a week and I ended up peeling them all off. My acrylic nails chipped 3 days after I got them done & my pedicure also chipped 3 days after. I came here with my bridesmaids and one of the girls were being really mean to one of my bridesmaids. She was really rough with her and made one of her fingers bleed. She didn't like the color but the girl doing her nails just gave her a rude remark saying that's the color she wanted, my bridesmaid didn't want to start a scene so just said "okay, that's fine." She was also really rough with her pedicure and I think my bridesmaid wanted her toe nails to be cut a little and the lady insisted on just trimming, to which my bridesmaid, also just nodded yes to. My bridesmaid didn't tell me about her experience until after we were done and after I've already paid, otherwise, I would've said something. I also didn't get a hand massage with my manicure during my last visit but I didn't say anything because I was just trying to have a good time, it was the day before the wedding after all! This is not the level of service and quality that I've experienced here in the past, but after all the mishaps that has happened during my last 2 visits here, I'm not sure that I'd come here again... what happened!? read more

The nail ladies do an so-so job. Every time I've had my nails done they are always so pushy about choosing a color, seems that's all they know in English. I usually tip and mos def do not have a problem doing so...but when I asked how much, she said $17 (for a regular manicure--- I was shocked since I didn't get a color color...) I handed her a $20 and she said, 'thank you.' I waited as my nails dried-- she never came back with change and just kept it. I mean like really? I mentioned it as I was leaving because my jails were definitely not worth tipping on a $17 manicure! Not the best customer experience- I hadn't been there in awhile and just very disappointed. I will say the place is somewhat clean and they do practice social distancing. read more

Hot & new! This place is centrally located on Lafayette & Benton near SAnta Clara University. Gorgeous, fresh & new interior. I came here for eye brow wax and they did a great job- left my eyebrows exactly how I wanted them. Then I came back to do manicure- let me just say I never do manicures because my nails grow too fast but I am so glad I did it! I loved that they didn't file my nails down with electric filer - only a regular file (electric makes your nails thin). I also choose a color that was too light so they right away suggested a new gorgeous color and changed it free of charge. Oh, and did I mention they have a 15% off all services for grand opening?! Super friendly staff, amazing work & a deal- You better believe I will be back for a pedicure! Update (Feb 2017): Came back to do eyebrow wax & gel manicure ($37)-amazing job! They now only take cash for tips (not on card). read more

Made an appointment here with two friends. I had my appointment with Mai and she was working on someone else's nails for a while before she got to me. That's why I'm giving them a 4/5, because even though I had an appointment set, they didn't get to working on me until 45 minutes after my appointment time. I was a little annoyed but the service made up for it. As this was only my second acrylic experience and my first one was pretty bad, Mai made sure to spend extra time on me. She constantly checked in and asked if I liked the length, shape and color of the nail. Also, she took her time when making sure the lengths of each nail on each hand were the same. I got the regular nail polish with acrylics and they lasted about 2 weeks long before getting gross. The top coat started molding into the nail color and becoming darker and darker and forming small bubbles. I don't know if it was the top coats fault or the wear and tear. I decided to remove the color myself and repaint white after 3 weeks bc I couldn't bare to get them removed yet. I plan to make an appointment to soak them off this Friday. Overall good experience for my second time acrylics! read more

This is my favorite nail salon by far. I go to Santa Clara University so it's within walking distance during the school year; however, I still make the 30 minute drive down here in the summer when I'm not at school because of how loyal I am to the staff here. The salon is new and very clean, which is very important to me. Their basic pedicure includes a lot (scented scrub, mouisturizer, massage, hot stone) for only $23! All of the staff does a great job with pedicures as well. They take their time and I've never been accidetally cut by anyone. For my acrylic fills I always request Van or Mai. They do an amazing job every time and are always very accomodating. As long as you are clear with what you want, the nail technicians here will give you it. The prices are also reasonable and I would pay to get the quality nails and service here over going somewhere a few dollars cheaper. Also make sure that you make an appointment before coming because they get very busy in the afternoon/evenings and weekends. read more

I have come here as well as my friends and family. One by one left . They used to do my nails great every time but as soon as I had a complaint on a really bad service they were completely rude and unprofessional. My nails were extremely short and pointed up the nail polish was clumpy and they had dust underneath the polish . They looked horrible and I was leaving on vacation the next day I am so embarrassed . Everyone I have referred here has left because of how the owner responds to a bad service . She didn't want to fix them after I had mentioned to her about what I had seen . read more

Made appointments for two people requesting dip power nails early in the week on a Tuesday. The appointment was made for Saturday. The ladies over committed as when we walked in there were customers sitting on the couch and filled the pedi spas. Wondering if our appointments were going to be fulfilled on time, they sat us down at the nail stations. While my cousin was able to get her nails done I was left sitting at the nail station while the lady who was to serve me started on a pedi for another customer. Frustrated I declined service, it required some complaining and for the lady who was doing my cousins nails to call her back to me. She tried to say she could do my nails in ten minutes to please me but this type of service I don't need or want.. They will soon learn they will lose customers by over committing. Never again will I patron this business. read more

Horrible got my acrylic nails done and in 2 days half of my nails popped off. Also very low color selection and they gave me the wrong color I asked for. And nail prices are not the same it says 38$ and she made me pay 45$ for these nails not worth it!! Please save your money and go somewhere else not worth it. read more

I am very happy to recommend Lisa. I am customer at previous shop she worked at. She is very pleasant and sweet, most important she does an excellent job always . I have tried a number of shops nearby my home and none compared when I come to Lisa , she always take her times and leaves my nails look amazing!! I can't go anywhere and trust anyone beside Lisa , she never disappoint me . When I come to her I don't need to tell her what to do, I let her decide and do whatever she want with my nails , but guess what , my nails always look stunning every different time. Came in here on Friday to get a pedicure for my birthday weekend. My friend and I came in around 2, we booked appointments, and had to wait a few minutes before meeting Kim and Mai. This place is new and I've lost all my go-to nail spots so I wanted to come check it out, especially since they are doing 20% off services through JUNE! The place is super clean (a huge plus for me) and the pedi chairs were new and gorgeous. They are massage chairs so that is also great. Kim and Mai were very great and paid close attention to detail during the pedicure, which I really appreicated. You can pick your own sent of scrub (lavender, orange, or green tea). I went with lavender which made the leg rub heavenly. They have SO many color choices as well, which I love! For $18 I will definitely be coming back to get my feet pampered. read more

*Update: I did receive an apology yesterday after I posted the below review, and have been scheduled to receive a free gel manicure after this cut heals. They are trying to make amends, which is good business practices. I will make an official updated review, new star rating, after the gel manicure occurs and post pictures. Officially done with this place. Couple weeks ago I got a cat eye manicure, and it looked terrible. The manicurist didn't cover up the black polish which goes underneath to produce the effect. They charged me full price and didn't care that I was unhappy. And now today, the manicurist cuts my cuticle deep on my thumb. Ouch! It not only looks ugly, but hurts. When I asked for a discount I was refused. All I'm saying is I paid for a service, a manicure, not to get cut! The least they could have done is covered the manicure cost or discounted. They did neither. And the manicurist didn't apologize, once. So done. read more

I really like this nail salon. I think they really did a great job on my natural nails and she shaped my nails with expertise. I showed a photo of a color and design I liked and she knew how to recreate it. I'm very impressed with my nails and how beautiful they look. Mai did my nails. She's super knowledgeable and a expert at nails as she's been doing it for years. The cleanliness is not as great as I wanted for I realized they don't wash their hands before working with you nor do they clean all their equipment and tables. (As far as I've observed) But the nails turned out so beautiful so that's a surprise. Thank you for your service! However the price for regular gel nail manicure was $40. read more

Looking for a nice, clean, great pedi and mani? Look no further you've found the place here. Finger joy nails is a absolutely amazing; I remember when I first came I was really taken back by the facility and the service. They do their best to accommodate you, to make you feel comfortable, and they are VERY moderately priced. You'll also notice that when they are doing either their mani or pedi they are constantly opening up brand new instruments. They are very clean. That's a plus for me. They take great pride in what they do. I've been coming here for almost a year now and the ladies are the sweetrst. You cannot find better quality and service at this great price. read more

Came here for some self care. I was told I'd wait only 15-20 min. After waiting for 40 min, I was pretty antsy to just leave as I could've been taking care of other things. Finally, I was sat down. Lady doing my nails was pretty nice. But then she cut my finger (see pic). I told her how that area hurt and if she could avoid that area. Her response was, " I know I'm sorry, that's just how it goes..". As she continued to do my nails, she kept going over the area that hurt. I asked her if she could give me a discount since she cut me and continuously kept hurting me. She then got very angry and said that she never cut me and that I came in with that cut. Lol. No. I didn't. I kept telling her how I did not and that she did indeed cut me. She said she never cut my cuticles when she partially did. I asked if I could talk to her manager which she pointed to but the manager never even came. I asked the lady to just finish my nails as I wanted to leave. I never got a discount. Oh yea, I also mentioned how I thought it was unsanitary that they contionsly use products on other customers after cutting someone. Woman looked at me like I was crazy. It's called sanitation and not exposing other customers to umm let's say HIV/AIDS. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. read more

This is what $40 tips look like :( plus $10 tip. Super lumpy and uneven. Used to love this place and only went here when I visited my mom, but never again. Getting nails done is a huge treat for myself since I rarely get them done and this was a major disappointment :(:( There wasn't anyone there and the whole process felt super rushed. read more

For 11/20/17 1. I came here to get my nails done for my birthday. I made an appointment for a gel manicure for 2pm. I arrived 15 mins early and they took me right away, no wait. 2. $25 for a gel manicure and they have so many colors to choose from. Chromes and mood changing, seriously anything your heart desires. I always get nude nails and was kind of bummed because the color I picked didn't 100% match the swatch. The swatch was more nude, but on my nails, the color was more baby pink. 3. I love that they don't reuse nail files. They use a different set of tools for each customer. The tools are sanitized and come in the paper/plastic sleeves that dentists use. 4. My lady filed and shaped my nails so nicely. I have never had a nail tech pay that much care and attention to my nail shape. She made me check after each hand. When working on my cuticles, she did snip my skin. I didn't notice until I left because my finger stung a bit and it was more red than my other fingers. That's the only reason for the -1 star. 5. I love how spacious this place is. It's super clean and I feel like I can actually relax here. 6. There's a small lot, but a lot of street parking in the neighborhood. 7. This nail salon is hidden close to the Santa Clara state university! I found this little place on yelp and thought I'd give it a try. As soon as I walked in I was able to get my nails done by a technician name Tran or I believe tram. She was helping me out and at first I wasn't fond of her because her mannerisms were kind of rude at first, but she started warming up to me and started to become nicer, but to be honest the first 10 minutes I really felt uncomfortable and regretted getting my nails done because my hand was just getting pulled here and there and she was kind of being mean so I became depressed and sad and that's easy for me because I've always dealt with anxiety. So her interaction with me shut me down and my guard was up. Excellent gel manicure by Tran. I came in around 3:30pm on a Sunday, waited about 7 minutes. I was there to re-do a gel manicure that was done at another salon in SoCal, and was already cracked and lifting after a week! Tran was very friendly and after I told her what color I wanted, she said it might look too light for my skin tone. She then picked out two OPI colors for me to choose from. She also added two small heart designs on my ring finger. Something subtle since I'm starting a new job in a week. I went here for the first time today. I called around 10:30am to make an appointment at noon for a full set and pedicure. They took me in even with an hour and half notice. As I got there they had me sit down and I waited like a minute. As I sat in the chair the lady asked me if I wanted water or tea and I asked for water and it was a big bottle and not the normal small ones. They did my pedicure first. It felt really nice and the lady I had was very gentle. I received the regular cuticle stuff but what I loved was that I got a scrub from my feet to my legs and then an oil massage instead of the lotion. Then I received a hot stone massage as well. It was really nice. She didn't do the message very hard but I like my legs to be rubbed harder than they should so it would be nice for everyone else. As she was finishing up the color for my pedicure, another lady started with my hands. I don't normally get my hands done and she noticed that. She suggested things for me for shape and she knew I wanted something natural for acrylic nails. She asked for color and I said black. She also suggested to do another color on my ring finger because it may look a little boring. She added a gold glitter color to it and honestly it's made it better. They were very helpful and welcoming from the beginning to the end. I wish I got their names but all I know is that I'll be going back there now that I live in the area. read more

A few minutes into the wax, she begins to ask me how often I exfoliate. From there, she goes on to say that I don't exfoliate enough, how important exfoliation is, and how she can tell that I don't exfoliate enough (I guess from my hair, idk). She then asks what products I use and how often I use them. I forgot the name of the exfoliant I use in the shower and when stating that, Marianahi just laughs. The comments about exfoliation continued for half of my waxing time. It was extremely repetitive and honestly left me feeling odd. I didn't know what to say after a certain point of her continuing to talk about how important exfoliation is. Aside from that, she stated that she could not get all of the hairs on my legs due to lack of exfoliation. I wasn't aware of how much hair was remaining that she couldn't get as I couldn't see my legs, but she continuously stated that my lack of exfoliating was the reason she could not take out all of my hairs. It wasn't until I went home that I noticed a majority of my hair still there, and I found it hard to believe that not exfoliating as much as Marianahi prefers is why my legs still have most of the hair still on it. I had to shave my legs and felt like I wasted so much money on my wax. In addition to this experience, when I checked out, the lady at the front desk was really trying to sell me on a wax package stating that I would save a lot of money and get a few free waxes. Even after I stated no several times, she still continued to try to sell me on the packages, to which I still said no. When she finally was able to accept that I wasn't interested, she wanted to rebook my next appointment to which I stated I only wanted to rebook for 1 service since my hair doesn't grow back that often in other places. She seemed as though she didn't understand what I was saying and was in disbelief. All in all, I'm not sure if this is a universal experience at European Wax or just this location, but I absolutely will not be back. I might go to another location one day, but I'm skeptical of even doing that from my experience here.
