It's not so much a vintage store as it is the cutest kitchen and supply store that reminds you of simpler times. Everything looks old, but it's new. From the dish towels to the cutlery to the dishes. Everything is sweet and decorative, and something that you would simply love to have I bought some gifts for my friends on my travels and I know that they will be appreciated. If you're looking for gifts in Napa, this is the store. I thought things were reasonably priced. But I didn't buy anything that was too high-end. The women at the checkout register seem to know their merchandise very well. They were very helpful, even though they didn't have caviar spoons.

And beyond this obvious distraction, I was pleasantly surprised by the easy going and welcoming nature of Whitney whom was tending the showroom with her adorable companion Charlie. Whitney was so well versed in the history of Roosevelt the T-Rex and of her shops curator I couldn't help but be engaged. I plan to keep up with the projects to come from this engaging establishment and will look forward to future visits.

It's true that the Chicago Field Museum has Sue (and plans to make room for a Titanosaurus), but Roosevelt the T. Rex is the most vintage thing in the Napa Valley. It's a stunning display. One gets a feel for the T. Rex's immensity up close. The curator of the shop was very friendly&educational. While the Martin Showroom varies in its retail (mug shot throw pillows of Jane Fonda&Kurt Cobain, old neon, rooster taxidermy, Helmut Newton coffee table books), the T. Rex is the most impressive&priceless.

Completely full of imported art from Turkey, everything is beautiful to take in. My only qualm is just that the prices are all pretty steep, so I didn't end up taking anything home with me. Small qualm though, as I'm sure folks will pay, and I'm also sure it costs quite a bit to import many of these pieces of art. Five Stars for Amanda Wright Pottery!…read more I was vising the Napa Valley , St. Helena, and Calistoga area on vacation and decided to stop off at the St. Helena Farmer's Market. While walking around, I saw a table full of absolutely stunning pottery and ceramics. I learned that the artist, Amanda Wright, works out of her garage and sells her art masterpieces not only at the farmer's market, but also at several very prestigious places in the Bay Area. Her work is exquisite, unique, and full of detail. I just had to buy a piece to showcase in my office. Amanda Wright's addiction to pottery followed a fashion design career which included costume design for TV and movies. She left Southern California with her husband and three children to live a slower paced lifestyle in Northern California's beautiful wine country, Napa Valley. The common thread in Amanda Wright's pottery is simplicity and balance. Each of the traditional forms is charged with a modern spirit. The utilitarian art invites you to use each piece in daily life. I love it how she is able to tie together her experience in fashion design with pottery. Her art is perfect for home, office, and winery tasting room decorations. Her pieces are certainly masterpieces and will be the topic of many discussions in the home and office. Amanda's work is currently available at the following locations: St. Helena's Farmer's Market on: August 22, 2014 September 19, 2014 October 17, 2014 Cavalier Goods 1035 Post Street San Francisco, CA House of Honey 1518 Mission Street South Pasadena, CA 525 San Ysidro Road Montecito, CA You can also contact her at amandawrightpottery@gmail.com to find out more about where and when she will be showing her work.
