For cocktail hour they served the sangria when we had chosen the blue hacienda. Minor things like that that were rather inconvenient but didn't ruin our day. The venue is absolutely beautiful and our wedding was amazing

I wish I didn't have to write this review, but after multiple emails, messages, and empty promises…read morethat someone would reach out, we've been completely ignored. Our wedding was in December, and it's now almost February--still no response from the venue or the owner. The issue? We paid extra for a higher-tier bar package, only to find that our bar signage was hidden, and the bartender had no idea how to make any of the drinks. Classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds and Negronis were made poorly (when they were made at all), and in the end, most guests resorted to drinking only wine, champagne, or beer--completely negating the premium package we paid for. We made menus for the drinks and they magically disappeared. To make matters worse, we were previously assured via email that the bartender was experienced, only to later find out that they were hired the day before the event. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. We reached out multiple times to resolve this fairly, including requesting a partial refund for a service we didn't receive. We were met with silence. Someone on Instagram keeps telling us that "someone will reach out," yet here we are, still waiting. If you're considering this venue, be warned: they have no problem taking your money, but when an issue arises, they disappear. We expected better, and at the very least, a response. Mind you, the location is spectacular but the fact that they hired someone without experience to work a wedding is shady and unfair to the guests and couple who paid out of pocket to make this an experience. It was an experience but not one that we smile about when it comes to talking about the bar saturation . 90% of guests are all industry people. Thanks for not responding. I tried.

What a fantastic stop…read more Me and my four friends did a tasting tour and then set out back on the terrace. Be a mistake... Smoking cigars and sampling various cocktails. It was a fantastic day and the rum was quite amazing. The general manager, Freddie, came out and chatted us up to let us know how much they appreciated our business. The special process they head for almost 150 years was quite impressive. Every person that we met was incredibly friendly and super helpful for our total trip in Puerto Rico. I would totally recommend this place.

As someone who was born and raised in Puerto Rico, I had been wanting to visit Hacienda Santa Ana…read moreand experience the Ron del Barrilito tour for a long time. I've enjoyed many tasting experiences during my travels--including coffee, wine, tequila, aguardiente, and other local spirits--so it only felt right to finally experience one of Puerto Rico's most iconic rums. The full tour with the rum tasting is about $80 per person, which I initially thought was expensive. After taking it, I can honestly say it was worth it. The tour is informative and well organized, and you learn about the history of Ron del Barrilito, the family behind it, the beautiful historic hacienda, and the rum-making process. The facilities are gorgeous, well maintained, and the rum itself is clearly a high-quality product. The reason I'm giving four instead of five stars is the customer service. Before the tour, I ordered a small appetizer because I was about to do a rum tasting on an empty stomach. As a solo traveler, I expected to feel welcomed, but unfortunately, I didn't. The bartender, Jesús, came across as dismissive and unfriendly. While I appreciated that he wanted to let me know the appetizer was a generous portion, the way he communicated it made me feel like serving me was an inconvenience rather than a pleasure. After the tour, I had the opportunity to interact with another bartender, Yamil, and the experience was completely different. He was warm, friendly, engaging, and genuinely made me feel welcome. He embodied the kind of hospitality I expected from such a prestigious brand. I also felt that the employee at the admission counter could have been more welcoming. When you're paying for a premium experience, the customer service should match the quality of the product from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Overall, I still recommend the tour. It's a wonderful way to learn about one of Puerto Rico's oldest and most respected rum brands, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. With more consistent, hospitality-focused customer service, this experience would easily deserve five stars.
