Burrito

This was such a vibey place! Walking up you hear the music playing and people talking loudly. To the left is the restaurant and a bar. To the right is the DJ and a place for people to sit or stand around or dance. The restaurant side has dining tables but not too many so could be hard to find seating when busy. The burrito I ordered was pork and it was actually better than I expected it to be. I say that because the menu didn't give too many options so I was afraid that it wouldn't be worth it. But nonetheless I gobbled it down lol and the side of chips was nice. They were like mini nachos lol they had sour cream and this DELICIOUS pico de gallo. I wanted more of that pico and I'm not even a fan. The bar was cute and quaint BUT service sucked. We got the sangria pouches that were 2 for $5 which were soooo good!!! Seriously get them! They hit the SPOT

The tacos and empanadas are FANTASTIC!!! We went on a Saturday and enjoyed some nice drinks. Then came back on Monday for bomba night. Its our go to place whenever we visit

A local told us about this place since we were in SJ on a Monday. She said the food was cheap and good and the music was nice. I think the food was around $6 or so for fried chicken and fries. The man and I had 2 for $3 Coors beers, which was nice because I don't drink beer, but they were good!!! Bomba was played by a local band and the streets was packed with folks dancing, singing, and having a good time.

This is the hoppin place to be on a Monday night. It's a very local neighborhood spot that even lots of locals I've met don't know about. But it fills up around 9pm as live Bomba y Plena music gets going on the stage and people take turns dancing to the rhythms while everyone else dances in the street. You can get cheap food (order at the counter, then take the check to the cashier at the other counter, then return with the payment receipt to the food counter) and ice cold Medalla (you'll want it to be cold while dancing outside in the Puerto Rico heat) and have yourself a fantastic time here on Monday. It's a divey bar on a side street, but that's my favorite kind of place.

This is a difficult place to rate. I'd give it 5 stars for authentic puertorican street bar ambiance, but IT IS A DIVE. So I'm going with three stars. Great cold beers, cheap drinks and good fritters! Just s fun place to have a beer and some pastelillos!

Best place to go on a Monday night. It's easy to meet locals, drink cheap beer, and listen to some unique local music.

This whole area is basically a party in the streets, with dozens of people hanging out with loud music blasting. It is almost like La Placita-lite. You won't get that in the tourist areas. I went on a Friday night and there were people everywhere. On the sidewalk and on the streets. I don't even know how cars managed to make it through, there were so many people. There was loud music but I don't remember if it was coming from this club or the open air club across the street... It all bleeds together after a while. This spot is less of a club and more of a local hangout spot. Not really much dancing going on... Just drinking, talking, laughing, and catching up with friends. Not quite a "chill" vibe, but much more chill than some of the surrounding venues. Perfect for enjoying a few beers or cocktails, people watching, and unwinding after a long week, or a long flight.

Although we were trying to hunt down an authentic Puerto Rican meal, everyone was too hot and hungry to be picky. This was actually a surprisingly cute restaurant, considering the name. There is a heavy Country Western theme, and most of the food is stuff you'd find in any American restaurant. I could have done without the nonstop country music, personally. I ordered the Mamposteao because it was the only traditional item on the menu. It was very delicious and the flavors were true to the island. The rest of my family ordered burgers and appetizers. No one was thrilled about their meal. The best part of the restaurant was probably the waitress. Despite her thick accent, she was wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and trying desperately hard to fit the theme of the place. She definitely has some work to do, but she was hilarious and very nice!

This is a more of a bar than restaurant but it offers some restaurant style menu items along with some unique cocktails. We tried a cocktail with grapefruit and gin; don't remember the name. It was better than expected. The place has an urban, hipster-like atmosphere. It's basically one large room with a bar, a few tables of varying sizes, and two "lounge" areas with couches. It also sports a few TVs. We came here on the recommendation for the Mero Bites (deep fried grouper); an appetizer. So we ordered those, a Quesadilla de Pollo, and a side of Tostones. The Tostones came with a mayo-ketchup style dipping sauce and tasted like, you guessed it, tostones. The Quesadilla de Pollo came with small sides of sour cream, refried black beans, and guacamole. It was also drizzled with a creamy sauce. Overall, it was satisfying and better than average. The Mero Bites were definitely worth it. They were large flakey chunks of grouper, deep fried to a golden brown, and slightly crispy. They came with a side of tartar that paired with them perfectly but they were delicious without it as well. Definitely get the Mero Bites if you go here. The staff was friendly and our waiter was excellent. If you're in the area and want a snack and a drink, I'd recommend stopping in for the Mero Bites and one of their unique cocktails. The Mero Bites alone were worth the visit.

I don't plan on coming here again. Este lugar tiene buena atmósfera pero el servicio es ridículo y no vale la pena ir si tienes que esperar más de 20min por un trago.
