We couldn't have done it without our loan…read moreofficer, Matt Casamina of House of Finance, along with our realtors, Rowena Wong and Jay Vea of Locations Hawaii. The whole process took just 43 days!! My sister in law had recommended our Rowena Wong, as I told her we were interested in purchasing our first home. Rowena forwarded us to loan officer Matt, to help us finance our home. Initially, we planned to buy in 1-2 years, but we made it happen in less than 2 months. I met with Matt and got a pre-approval on the same day (in less than 2 hours.) While sitting in the waiting area while he was with his client before me, I found a property online and texted it to my realtor asking about it. We toured the property that same evening, and made an offer the next day. All done within 24 hours, and all thanks to Matt, Rowena and Jay. With their guidance, we submitted an offer and even beat out a higher offer. Our offer got accepted in the following week. Some call it crazy, but I say it's all in God's perfect timing. Matt, Rowena and Jay made it happen for us. I mean it when I say we couldn't have done it without them. They went above and beyond to make sure our first home buying process went quickly (really really quickly) and smoothly. Matt sure we had all our sh*t together, and our transaction was perfect! I was super nervous that it wouldn't happen, but he reassured me that we would get through the transaction without a hitch. One of my favorite things is that he is easy to talk to and relatable. He even gave me some financial advice to alleviate my debts which made a big difference in my monthly bills. I also appreciated Matt staying late hours to meet with us after we were done with work, and not minding bringing our baby to the office. If you asked me a year ago, I would not have think it would be possible to own our own home in 2019, but yet, here we are! I will definitely recommend House of Finance for anyone looking to buy or refinance their home.

Primary Residential was one of 10 companies I considered, but after researching and conducting interviews (both phone and in-person), I narrowed it down to 3 companies. They were all very professional and experienced. What led me to Jared as the obvious choice was the combination of rates and lender credits that blew everyone else out of the water. Throughout all stages of the process, Jared was extremely professional and friendly, and always willing to meet up or explain certain processes. He made a potentially overwhelming and confusing process into something painless and efficient. Because of him, I was able to speed up the normal closing timeline from 50 to 35 days, allowing me to move in sooner! He consistently responded to emails or voicemails within the hour, which I really appreciated. Even 4 weeks after closing, he's still answering my questions as fast as ever. Jared helped me decide when to lock in a rate (since rates fluctuate daily), and thanks to him, I got the lowest rate available within the 3 week window I had; the final closing costs were very close to the originally estimated closing costs, but lender credits were better than originally estimated, meaning I walked away with an excellent deal. Again, I highly recommend Jared!

So it was crucial to work with the right person who had all the necessary expertise, local knowledge, and persistence to find a solution. Throughout the process, Duncan was consistently available, responsive, and transparent. He kept me informed at every step and made sure I wasn't charged for anything I shouldn't have been paying for, and kept the deal moving on time-sensitive deadlines. Whether you're dealing a straightforward or a complicated financing situation, I'd strongly recommend Duncan and his team.

Being that I live literally walking distance, my son and I decided to go into the bank to make change. The front door is locked due to obvious reasons. It's a sketchy area with numerous homelessness. However, upon waking in with no greetings, I was asked what service I was needing. I simply explained that I just needed to make change. The teller asked if I had an account. I answered no. He then says he will need to ask if it would be ok. So my son and I waited. He comes back and says that because we don't have an account and the bank "doesn't have enough cash" he is unable to break my $20. Now, I've worked as a teller as a first time job out of high school & I know that's a bunch of bull. Thank goodness there was a kind enough customer waiting along with us and offered to break my $20. The thought of even opening an account with this institute after this experience would be a joke! Just because it's a sketchy area, doesn't mean EVERYONE is sketchy that walks into your branch.
