Cathey Roofing installed a new shingled roof on our home in October 2020. While we had a few…read moremiscommunications during the install, Corey did a good job of resolving our concerns and it appeared all was in good order. What we didn't know is what was hidden under the new shingles. A few years prior in October 2016, he had brand new Velux skylights installed. Knowing that skylights can present the possibility of leaks, I was careful to choose a vendor that would use the Velux flashing kit and install precisely according to the manufacturer's instructions. I saw the skylight installation first hand including pictures of the completed flashing. It was pristine. Flash forward to a few months ago. We started to notice mold appearing on our living room ceiling. It wasn't in the skylight shaft but on the ceiling around the shaft about 8-12" away. We reached out to Cathey Roofing and they sent a repair specialist who said that the skylights "failed" and that was evidenced by the mold. Knowing how those skylights were installed and that they were warrantied, we reached out to the Velux dealer. They sent a representative who came and inspected the skylights and the flashing around them. The flashing had been damaged and the new roof incorrectly installed around the skylights. Cathey Roofing nailed THROUGH the skylight flashing when they reroofed. They also covered up the channels intended to divert water around the skylight rather than leaving them exposed as they should have. We even went so far as to arrange a Velux representative to train the Cathey Roofing team on correct flashing and shingling around a Velux skylight so that in the future they would not have a repeat of this problem. The shingles are actually bent and wavy around the skylights. Again we called Cathey Roofing and got no response. Finally, I texted Corey Cathey and laid out my concerns since he wouldn't return our calls. He stated that he would meet the Velux representative at our home and make it right. That has now been another ten days and Cathey Roofing will not answer the calls nor respond. The Velux rep has called and left two messages that have gone unanswered. The Velux folks have even gone to the address listed for the business but was not able to reach anybody. We have called and our calls and texts have been unanswered as well. Meanwhile, there is water damage and mold all over my living room ceiling from their poor quality installation. Any company can make a mistake. Reputable companies place a priority on correcting their mistakes because their reputation on the line. Cathey Roofing is intentionally evading having to correct their shotty workmanship. I do not recommend this roofing company and strongly suggest before requesting a quote you consider how very important it is for a company to stand behind their work.

The age of the roofs on the property is unknown and always being concerned for ANY leaks, I immediately got into Yelp to put out a project request to find a roofer. Storm Damage responded right away on a Sunday and was able to meet the next day to give an onsite estimate. Given the steep roofline of the barn house style roofing and immediate need given another upcoming storm, the quote was definitely reasonable. Given the short notice and upcoming weather, they put a tarp across the roof to prevent anymore leaking. At the first break in the weather 2 days later, they were on it and got to work. It's a tight area around the unit, so giving a heads up to my neighbors was important. That said, they cleaned up all debris on my side and my neighbors as if they were never there! Huge!!! I have a roof on the main property and a permanent shed left to do. I will be sure to call them back for the next jobs. Thank you guys!!!

In this home, from beginning to end, CPS did a great job on my roof. They replaced the roof in quick time with beautiful results. Roofing is a messy job and I still had the nails, the messy attic, and the broken flowers (from the tarps catching the old shingles). But overall, CPS was professional, kept the area tidy, and the end results look wonderful. No hidden upcharges or "found surprise problems" to deal with. A good honest company that did an outstanding job.

We hired Home Genius to replace our siding and windows. While the quality of the finished work was…read moreok, the overall experience getting to that point was extremely frustrating. Our project began the week of June 8. We were initially told the siding would take about a week to complete and that the windows would be installed in one day once they arrived. Unfortunately, that timeline was never met. Shortly after the siding project started, we were told the crew had run out of materials. From there, the project was delayed multiple times. The windows arrived, and I took time off work for the scheduled installation and then received a call the night before saying the crew wouldn't be coming. We were given several new installation dates, but each one came and went without anyone showing up. Throughout the process, communication was disappointing. We often had to repeatedly call for updates, many calls went unanswered or to voicemail, and we were frequently given conflicting information. It felt like we had to chase someone down just to find out what was happening with our own project. Due to the conflicting information given, they agreed to put siding at the top of the front porch, however they did not. I have holes in the walls in the inside of my home where they put the nails in the siding, when I brought this to their attention, they said there was nothing they could do about it, that that was a common issue. Before I agreed to go with this company I was told they had insurance for any issues they caused but was then told the holes in the walls were something they would not fix. In the end, Home Genius did complete the siding and window installation almost 2 months later. However, the weeks of delays, missed commitments, lack of communication, and the inconvenience of having an unfinished home, made what should have been an exciting home improvement project far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this company to do any siding or window work based on my experience. Update to previous review I came home this morning to my siding falling off of my home. I have reached out to several people including the project manager, the sales rep, the project managers manager and the 800 number to let them know. I am highly disappointed, it has not been 30 days since the project was complete, and my siding is coming down.

At first, they seemed professional, a representative came out, spent over an hour and a half assessing the house, took photos, and even went into the attic for what felt like a very thorough evaluation. He promised an estimate within a few days. ​Fast forward over two weeks: absolute radio silence. No estimate, no updates, nothing. The only communication I received was an automated text asking why I decided not to go with their services (which was complete news to me!). When I replied that I was still waiting for my quote, they just told me to call their 800 number. ​I called multiple times and sent several emails. No one answered, and no one ever got back to me. At this point, I seriously question the legitimacy of this company and their operations. It doesn't matter what the estimate would have been. I will never use their services, and I strongly encourage others to steer clear. Take a look at their reputation across social media regarding their communication, workmanship, and treatment of customers and contractors; save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually respects your time.
