This roadside market is probably in my top 5 reasons to visit this part of Amish country…read more Everything you buy here, is as fresh and natural as you can get. They've got the best dairy products I've ever tasted. The butter, cheese, milk and yogurt are all incredible. The fruit tastes like it just came off the trees. The corn, you can watch them harvesting it from across the street in old fashioned Amish style. The baked goods they sell are also delicious: apple cider donuts, apple dumplings, molasses cookies... all yum! Just buy everything you can!! I'm yet to try the bbq chicken which everyone else raves about, but hey, gotta have something to keep looking forward to, right? Pro tip: Cash only. Also, on Fridays and Saturdays is when the specialty stuff is available: bbq chicken, ice cream, and apple cider donuts!

This was such a cute place - I loved the large fresh tomatoes and their canned items of various items, such as pickled veggies. I love that they had wagons scattered about for you to use to 'wheel' around your items for purchase! We noticed a sign of hot apple cider donuts, so we need we had to stop by - we picked up a couple, as well as their homemade bottled lemonade. The donuts were so soft and fluffy, and coated with the seasoned sugar. The lemonade was refreshing, and paired perfectly with the donuts! Staff here are friendly, and the check-out was pretty efficient. Plenty of parking in their gravel lot. +apple cider donuts! +fresh produce! +bbq stand! +ample parking in gravel lot

This was my first time at the Shady Maple Farm Market. My family loves the Shady Maple Smorgasbord…read morebut we've never tried their market before. Pleasantly surprised at the variety of all the prepared foods available. The bakery also does the donuts and desserts from the buffet and beautiful decorated cakes. There were customers in line waiting to place orders for cakes for their events. Sampled Watergate salad, pumpkin fudge, and kielbasa. Didn't get to try the cider or apple pastry because it was a bit crowded for the samples. Prices... comparable to regular supermarket prices on ambient and shelf stable goods. I actually came in to buy ground beef. Heard the 80/20 was cheaper than our local supermarket. It was a lot cheaper. I bought the 10 lb. package of 80/20 ground beef at $3.99/lb. Brought it home and divided it up. Very easy and economical. Their steaks and butcher case looked amazing. They even had a special $1/burger from the butcher case. If you've ever had the burgers at the buffet you know the quality of the meat is so fresh. Definitely worth it. On the way out is a snack bar where you can get hot dogs, chili, drinks and I believe ice cream too. There was a crowd there too so I didn't get to see the whole menu. You can eat your snacks at the tables in the sunny enclosed snack bar area. Next visit will be either the breakfast or lunch buffet then shop at the farm market. Maybe also shop in their gift store.

I especially loved their freshly made peanut butter, which comes in several flavors like honey, cinnamon, and chocolate, all at very reasonable prices. The bakery section was excellent as well, and they offered a wide variety of specialty teas that would make great gifts. I also appreciated that they sell chicken hearts and other less common cuts of meat at affordable prices! The market was clean and lively on the weekend. The cashier was friendly and nice. I tried their chicken pie and beef pie, but they were a little too salty for my taste. Overall, I would happily come back for the fresh peanut butter and meat!

I am so happy that Condiment opened! Fair Food stopped selling my ketchup and I needed a new…read moresubstitute. If you want fresh ingredients and condiments that don't contain any hard-to-pronounce-bad-for-you chemicals, then please come to Condiment. Friendly owner Elizabeth explained to me how everything is freshly made and you can get daily "mix-ins" with the different condiments available. Mustard, ketchup, mayo, jellies/jams, and they also have pastries and fresh made butter! You can sample anything and the three things I did were great. The ketchup is meant to rival a super large ketchup producer and the taste is spot on to that brand. The strawberry and raspberry jams were outstanding from the small tastes I had. Elizabeth said they purchase a lot of their ingredients from the RTM including the Fair Food Farmstand. She also mentioned when I asked that the products will last for some time in the refrigerator. I'm certain they will be gone very soon at my house! You can purchase 8 or 16oz portions, and for a little more you can get a squeeze bottle. I got those and if I bring them back, they'll refill them (still have to pay, though)! I believe it is $6.99 for the 16oz size and another buck and change for the squeeze bottles. I'm so glad I work nearby. Hope they start a frequent buyer program...come to think of it, I wish the Valley Shepherd Creamery did, too. I'll be back. Definitely!

A really great place in Reading Terminal to come for some gourmet sauces, butters, and Condiments,…read moreetc! I love to come here after I have picked up steaks at a butcher and either get a butter that has herbs and other cool things in it or have them marinate my meat while I shop around. Yes, that is right, they will marinate your meat while you shop! Just buy your meat, bring it to Condiment, and they will put together a delicious marinade for you while you shop! Just pick it up before you leave and you are all set! I also really like their pot pies, roasted eggplant, and other pre-made items to grab for an easy meal. Their sauces, condiments, dips, and butters are so good, it is hard not to buy everything in sight! They are a little pricey, but it honestly is so worth it! Everything is so fresh and yummy. You can find almost any condiment here, and if you don't see it, the staff is so friendly and helpful, I feel like they would see what they could do to help. Absolutely a place to check out if you are in the area!
