Certainly a no frills, you get what you pay for type of place. Store is bigger than it looks from the outside. Prices are the cheapest around and with good reason. It's pretty much a nail factory, you're in and then out. Could be slightly cleaner and would be nice to have some few amenities or extras like water offering, a quick dry coat at the drying station or something. I don't usually do complicated things at the nail salon, just a regular mani/pedi so I can't speak for the other services. Nail color selection was ok, needs to be better organized though. Parking is available in the back of the store. Got super busy by 3 pm on a Thursday with people waiting but before that, no wait. Pedi - It was a bit quick and no frills. Nothing special or extra, no 5 minute leg massage that you typically get at other places. You have to pay for that as part of a package or a la carte. Foot scrub was extremely light with little force and again, quick. Mani - I got a basic mani but you can see from my picture, the nail tech didn't do a good job with coverage and layering the polish. This place looks nice on the outside, once you go in no one greets you. They seem pretty upset that your there to get a service. Even though the lady was a bit mean about me wanting to get my toes done I still wanted to do my nails. She asked me to go to a certain tub, when I go to sit down it looked like the tub hadn't been cleaned!!! I looked to see if maybe there was another one next to it where I could sit that wasn't so disgusting but literally all of the tubs looked like that!!! I went in for a basic manicure since I needed my nails done for an event. The manicure was $10 so you really get what you pay for. The manicure felt very rushed despite the salon not being busy. My nail tech was very distracted looking around at other things going on in the salon (not that there was anything going on.) She managed to clip my cuticle and drew blood. Some of the tools she used were new out of plastic packaging, others were not (the cuticle nipper.) The nail file she used was definitely well used. While they did use a hot towel, they do not have you soak your nails at all. When using the top/base coats, she forgot to put base coat on one of my nails. The top/base coat was also an unmarked bottle so not sure what the brand was. Most salons I've been to stick with Essie, OPI or some sort of known (reputable) brand for their products. The paint job was okay but it was a semi-sheer color and was a bit patchy. There was not a good color selection at this place so you should probably just bring your own. Another weird thing about this salon is that they have started to sell food. There was a fridge with what appeared to be homemade kimchi and/or other foods and they also had a fridge with prepackaged drinks, cookies and chips. The prepackaged things seemed fine but the homemade food does seem odd. Once again, you get what you pay for. I should've read reviews before coming here. The staff is not experienced, I'm sure they're also not licensed being that the tech who did my nails and toes cut me several times to the point of drawing blood. While getting a pedicure, the worker dropped the towel on the floor and then proceeded to pick it up and dry my legs and toes with it. I had to speak to her several times for her to understand that I only wanted white on my toes which I think is very basic to comprehend. I walked out with my nails looking like they had grown in for a week already, and the fingers and toes she cut me have been swollen for days. Daughter & I have been coming here for YEARS. Relatively inexpensive and they do a pretty good job (not great, but good enough for me & my 11 y/o). However, they just charged my $15 for her pedicure (totally fine - normal price) PLUS $15 to draw TWO STARS on her large toe. It took them all of 60 seconds to put the stars on and any "nail art" (using that term VERY loosely) has always been charged at $5. But this time they charged us $15 and refused to lower it. I am not one to write negative reviews. But this needs to be addressed. About 2 months ago my friend and I came in for a pedicure. We obviously had to wait as all the nail technicians were busy (seems to be the case a lot.) Finally it was our time- I sat down first & I do not remember the girl giving me a new plastic cover for my "foot tub". The tools she used didn't even come from a sterile pack!! I should have walked out. CHEAPER DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN BETTER. My friend when she sat down, had a foot tub filled with gross disgusting water and her nail technician told her to put her feet in and gave her extreme attitude that she had to change it- excuse me?? Thanks to my girlfriend who told me about Fiji. I came in for a spa pedicure and called to make an appointment in advance however walk ins are welcome as well. They have several spa pedicure packages and the prices are unbeatable. Martha did a great job with my pedicure. I thoroughly enjoyed my foot scrub and hot stone massage. The staff and management were attentive to the customers. I saw a lot of negative reviews about Fiji however my personal experience was good. I will be visiting again. read more

this is the worst nail salon i've ever been to. i've been around 3 times and they have done an okay job. i come today and this lady (whose name i don't know) filed my nails down so much, i didn't even know they could go that far down. she PULLED off my non existent cuticles and made me bleed on 3 fingers and didn't even say anything. i told her not to file because by then it was the second time filing, she still filed and i was in lots of pain, she was careless and was not gentle at all. luckily i didn't get charged because they were so awful! now i get to go away on vacation with butchered nails. read more

I usually enjoy this place. It's quick, fairly priced with great promo deals. The owner (I think it is the owner) is lovely. She is friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the woman who I assume is the manager (woman with curly bangs and glasses). She greeted me with a grunt and a scowl. While I waited, I observed her being rude to customers and even getting in an argument with a woman and her daughter while they were paying. AFTER I had my pedicure and gel manicure I was informed that I would be charged $15.00 for gel X nail removal. Nowhere was this posted and I was not notified of this before The service - I even showed her my nails before and she never mentioned anything about a removal charge . The woman was rude and nasty when I questioned the price. This is not the first encounter I have had with this staff member. The rest of the staff is very kind. This is a very clean and nicely decorated salon. The salon pedicures are nice and not that expensive ($37 spa pedi that comes with a hot stone massage). The regular pedis are good but like 15 minutes start to finish. They have a good selection of Essi & OPI nail polish too. The massages they do here are spectacular! They get under your shirt and use good lotion. The best chair massages in town, hands down. Their manicures last at least a week & they don't seem to water down their polish. Also, I like that they have a full staff during busy season. There are a lot of manicure chairs & I think 9 pedi chairs. Seemed like there was an employee for every chair (plus the ladies that do massages during your manicure). The Friday before Christmas I popped in to see how long the wait for a gel manicure was. To my astonishment, no wait at 6 o'clock on a Friday evening before a holiday! Fantastic. There's a parking lot in the back, and street parking in the front if you're lucky. Very upsetting manicure and will not be coming back. I paid $50 for a UV gel set which is about average. I asked for medium length square nails. The nail tech was EXTREMELY rude. On their phone the entire time, very abrasive, and had a couldn't care less attitude. The UV gel hurt way more than I had ever experienced as well. They put on the gel and I kept thinking it was going to be fixed during the process but it was not. All of my nails were different lengths, the polish and gel didn't even cover the whole nail or go down close enough to the nail bed, they were so thick it was unbelievable and the shape was so off. I spoke with the manager to receive some sort of discount as even she agreed the nails looked bad and she said she couldn't even though she was handwriting the prices into a notepad and manually entering into the calculator. I was shocked as I told her how disappointed I am with the nails and she told me to stay to fix it five times even after me telling her I did not have time. Wonderful place for my husband and I to get early Saturday AM pedicures. We just got your basic pedis ($25/each) but noticed they have early bird specials on weekdays. After numerous bad experiences at other salons in Stamford, We will definitely be back to this salon soon! I spent forever trying to find a salon that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and would do a good job. A friend recommended the salon to me and I love it. It's clean, everyone is very nice there, and the free massage during your manicure is divine. Mely and Bella do an excellent job. The only negative is I've had my manicurist stop multiple times on multiple occasions to do administrative stuff -- answer the phone, help someone pay/check out, answer a question from another employee. Money hungry salons will ignore the fact people have fungus and still dip people's nails in the powder and pass it along to the next paying client. UNSANITARY. They also make you tip the tech prior to them finishing. The woman already was doing a bad job so I tipped her as I thought she deserved and she continued to give me a terrible polish. I'm beyond disappointed with Fiji. Got a full set of powder gel extensions, was told by owner if one breaks to come back. Well not even a week later one nail starts lifting! I go back to have it fixed. That same day another nail popped off. I went back to get it fixed and was charged $5. I've never been charged money to fix a broken nail when clearly it was due to a poor job. Being that two nails broke one before a week and one after 8 days of getting my nails done is terrible! To make it even better the woman who "fixed" the broken nail made the nail way too long and didn't give me the same shape. I should start by saying I AM NOT someone who likes writing reviews but if this review can help someone I'm for it! I have come to this nail salon three times and don't recommend coming here. The first experience was decent. The owner was sweet, the prices were great and they offer massages. My nails were well done. So much so that I came back for a second time with my sister. I got a pedicure that was horrible and they did a TERRIBLE job on her nails. She had to go get them done elsewhere in the same week. I, however gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back for a 3rd appointment to get my nails done this time. The nail tech was SO rude to me when I asked her to cut my nails shorter and shape them more natural. She gave me an attitude and said "This isn't the final shape!" I told her she didn't need to be rude to me and if she didn't want to do my nails to offer up another tech. She then rolled her eyes and continued working. After a few minutes I asked her if she could please cut my cuticles (since not all nail salons do this) she gave me an attitude AGAIN and said "I did your nails before! This is my technique so let me just do it!" I offered AGAIN for someone else to do it if she was so frustrated by having to do mine. It took everything out of me to not make a scene. She began painting my nails and forgot to cut the cuticles then quickly remembered and began. I'm leaving my appointment right now frustrated and annoyed which is not the feeling you want after leaving an establishment that's supposed to be a "SPA" I paid for my service, didn't tip her and mentioned to the woman at the front that I had a horrible experience and HAT my nails. They are too square, boxy and thick. She looked at me like I had 5 heads and did nothing. Now I'll have to pay - just like my sister did, to go get my nails done somewhere else. DON'T bother coming here unless you want to spend money AGAIN elsewhere to fix what they did wrong. read more

This place is the bee's knees! Their manicures and pedicures are great and last long, and include paraffin dip for hands and feet. Great color selection, very clean and courteous, and they'll order a color for you if there's one they do not have. Most importantly, I love it because the guys who massage your shoulders during the manicure and while your nails dry are AMAZING. That alone is worth the trip. read more

I have been going to Fiji nails since they opened over 10 years ago! When I first started going, I didn't even live in the Springdale ate, so I would go when I had a little extra time to myself. When living in the area for 5 years, I was there every week. Now I live in Fairfield and won't even waste my time getting a manicure anywhere else. The service here is impeccable. I am always greeted cheerfully by everyone. Unlike other place where you walk in and they just tell you "ok pick a color. Everyone takes their time and you never feel rushed. And love the massages. Not to mention how spotless it is! The reason I don't waste my time at any other nail salon is because of their polish. I am a hair stylist and my hands are constantly in water. My REGULAR POLISH manicure will always last a week, if not more. Anywhere else, it's chipping in a day. They take care of their products, and are never watered down. When the polish is sticky, or at the end, I've seen them throw it out and grab a new bottle. Where as other places bring it to the back and ad nail polish remover, making it thin. I will never go to another place. Love it here read more
