Really interesting gym! I did the Caveman Circuit. Circuit training, 1 minute stations like ropes, tire flipping, pushing heavy things, pulling them again, boxing, many exercises using your own body weight. Can be super intense if you push yourself. When I went it was 4-5 rounds of almost 11 stations, whatever fits into an hour-long workout depending on the number of people.
The instructor Jason is super passionate about fighting and training for fighting. I really enjoyed the community-like atmosphere he created. As a first-timer I felt welcomed by him and others in the class.
Not for beginners or the weak. I had a hard time with the tire flip and there was no modification for that one; you just have to flip that tire even though it's bigger than you! I still could do it just slower. In the Paleolithic era, if there was a tire in the woods and no man to flip it, would it flip itself? No way! Flip it yourself, girl! Hopefully with more time I will get stronger and be able to flip a giant tire without a problem. I don't blame them for not having a lighter tire to flip, it's the caveman workout, just a warning that it's heavy and if you don't do it right you could throw out your back. There were other women there who seemed to flip the tire without any issues so chances are you'll be fine.
They're on Class Pass!
Definitely worth checking it out, especially if you haven't done workouts like this before. As the instructor was saying, you need to do different workouts so your body doesn't get used to the same thing. This is definitely different than what I usually do.
Looking forward to going again. read more
