We were one of the many homeowners affected by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. We reached out to Black Forest Builders immediately (not knowing if they could help or not) because we had used them in 2012 to do some renovations prior to moving in after closing (new granite counter tops in bathrooms, tile back splash in Master bath and rocking the fireplace) and were very pleased with their work. I'm so glad we contacted them quickly as we were able to get started ahead of most. The flood occurred in late Aug. and we were back in by the middle of December - just in time for Christmas. None of our neighbors were back in their homes until Spring and/or Summer. Even though we had tear-out, drying and mold treatment to do first, BFB were "on it" quickly with getting the plans together so orders could be placed for lumber, doors, carpet and other things before a back-log occurred in the Houston area creating major delays for other homeowners. They were also very helpful in recommending some improvements for the rebuild to bring out 13 year old home up-to-date; building a customized Master closet, pull-out shelving throughout the kitchen, creating even more cabinets out initially wasted space in the kitchen and baths, installing a pocket-door in one jack and jill bath to eliminate a swing door cluster, etc. Black Forest Building exceeded all of our expectations. From quality to timeliness, from attention to detail to responsiveness to design changes to completion. The building itself, the service, and the professionalism were all outstanding. The Job started on October 31 and was finished before Christmas. We had to live through the demo and construction so the put up lots of heavy plastic drapes to protect the rest of the home from dust. The crew kept a very clean work area as well. Any questions or concerns we had were addresses promptly. This was a large job (for us). All the lighting fixtures were changed, the old island was pulled out and replaced with a much more functional custom island, and appliances were updated and/or added. I do not know how I ever lived without a double oven. The backsplash tile work looks great and we love the new sink! I could go on and on. The final product was outstanding! We love our new kitchen.
