tomato plant (i released some lady bugs on it to get them to attack the pests)

I absolutely love fig earth supply! At the beginning of the Covid-19 shutdown, when everyone was getting their gardening on, I got everything I needed from Fig Earth Supply and the local Eagle Rockdale garden. Fig Earth though, introduced me to high quality gardening supplies (gloves, hoses, tools), good soil, and I hear they have amazing workshops (I will attend one day, I promise). The contactless pick up was a game changer for me. I ordered online, paid, and picked up in the window I chose and everything would be ready outside with my name on it. Places like this really boosts the mood when you're stuck at home. Even though I eventually killed all my vegetable plants from neglect, I may start again when spring comes around and I know I'll be going back to Fig Earth Supply.

We wanted to get some vegetable plants and herbs for our balcony garden since going to the grocery store is getting riskier every day. We stopped by and found out they were doing online purchases and contactless pickup. We ordered two types of tomato plants, Japanese eggplant, cucumber, Japanese garlic and some herbs. I also got pots and soil there on another occasion. You order through their website and they will email when your order is ready, it took a couple days. We passed Home Depot and it was crowded and people were not practicing social distancing. This was a better option for me!

I can't grow anything. If I was a dude I wouldn't be able to even grow a beard...so when my boyfriend expressed an interest in home grown organic vegetables I thought "He's gonna have to find another woman..." But then I Yelped for help on the east side of LA...& found Connor. He walked me through everything, was very patient and even discouraged me from needless garden tool acquisition (who doesn't love a new shear?). He swore by a soil, a few seedlings & told me how to plant it all. I am here to tell you the man speaks the truth!!! My garden has already grown into something so beautiful and I've fallen in love with a wee strawberry plant. Who knew I'd cheer kale on as if I were a soccer mom? A wonderful place full of living magic.

A very cool chandelier.

This place is brilliant. Everything they have is exquisite. A large selection of different young Fig and Pomegranate trees, even Hops and Pluots. A connoisseurs selection of edible food plants appropriate for the area. I'm impressed.

Fig Earth is my favorite garden shop, flat out. Conor and the team have a bounty of edible plants and supplies--seasonal veggies, herbs, flowers, trees, vines and organic fertilizers to help everything thrive. In addition to the above, they have the most wonderful raised bed kits. Solid cedar wood in a large range of sizes, they age beautifully and make weed control a breeze. Did I mention the fabulous classes? Organic gardening, fruit tree care, medicinal herbs... classes are always evolving and so much fun. The staff at Fig Earth Supply knows their stuff and are friendly as can be. Check them out!

The people here were super friendly. It was slow when we went and didn't have a reservation but since it was slow they let us in and were very helpful. They had more herbs and fruit trees which was awesome they taught us some herbs that go well together! They also had no issues with me bringing in my cat who travels everywhere with me. I will definitely be back to learn more and get a couple herbs myself

Ask the Community - Fig Earth Supply

Are the fruits, vegetables and herbs organic? Thank you !

Is this place still open? I've gone three times during business hours and they have been closed EVERYTIME.

The owners sell their stuff prior to leaving the country for one-two summer months. I think they should be reopening in a few weeks, if not sooner. Fingers crossed.

Connor & fellow staff are as helpful as can be & they stock the best heirloom tomatoe varieties I've been able to find.

Jimmy is one hardworking dude, I see him there all the time. This plant spot is great for small gifts like a $10 plant or a thousand dollar Australian tree! They're pretty amazing and he has a great selection. Parking is not that hard. Just drive up college street towards Jade Wok and there's plenty of metered parking north of hill street. That's a 3 min walk. Or try the lot by Bruce Lee statue ($5) or get a slice at La Sorteds and park in their $5 lot. Or go to the atm across the street at Bank of America and get validated. So many options. Of course, make it a day and get a slice of strawberry cake from the famous Phoenix Bakery and latte from Thank You Coffee.

**OK INDOOR HOUSE PLANT SELECTIONS IN CHINATOWN**…read more After eating at nearby Broadway Cuisine, we wandered into this garden shop while exploring the area. PARKING There are nearby lots, but we had street metered parking. Most likely limited, especially on weekends. AMBIANCE A typical Broadway storefront in the heart of Chinatown. The space is airy and bright, with natural light filtering in from above. PLANTS I purchased a 12" watermelon peperomia for $40. They didn't have the fiddle-leaf fig I was hoping to find. Credit cards are accepted. The overall plant selection is decent, and everything looked healthy. OVERALL The staff was pleasant but hands-off, not informative unless you ask. I didn't receive care instructions until I was practically out the door. Pricing leans medium-high (but reasonable), so this isn't a budget-friendly stop, but the quality is solid, and it's nice to support a local, family-owned business.

We had our hands full with leftovers, the boy, and the dog so we were firmly in the browse zone. Then Vik jumps in the mix, calls the boy kiddo and asks if he wants to pet some fish. At this point, I'm intrigued and want to see where this goes, and you know what? He pet some of the koi fish in the pond, I have to admit I haven't seen that before (Kiddo was too scared to try). But THEN he starts telling us about these two plants next to the pond -- Mexican Mint and Sage -- and how their smell repels mosquitos. Kiddo has a huge bug bite on his leg, so the sale was pretty much instant. I planted them in my backyard this afternoon. So, this four star review is a five because of Vic and his kid charming skills. Four stars is because I wish they had a few more native options, but I'll go back because Vik made the experience.

We hired them for a full backyard Reno with full wall of ficus trees, full DG backyard with gravel edges, and a wood fence. Everything was going smoothly with scheduling and communication. When the actual work got started, I noticed the DG was not high-quality. It contained a lot of large rocks. Also, they were not digging out enough dirt before laying the DG. I had to bring that up to the foreman and they did dig up some more dirt before laying the DG. When the work was done, a foreman did a quick walk-through with me and I thought everything looked good. We were told not to walk on the wet DG for a day or two. So two days later when I did a better inspection, I started to notice a lot of shotty work. Specifically with the bender board dividing the gravel and I noticed that they used really small nails for the wooden fence. They did come back a month later to fix the DG because there were areas that were "bouncy", as if not enough DG was laid down. They had to dig up big rocks that were preventing the DG from compacting and they laid more DG on some areas. They also tried to fix some bender board problems, but they did a really horrible job. Three months later, some wood planks on our wood fence start curving and popping up. I called the company because our DG and our fence are under a year warranty. Jake asked me to email him with photos and he said he would call back to schedule a day for repair. Since then I have not heard back from them; they have completely ghosted me. I waited a month then I started calling and no one will pick up the phone. I've left messages and I sent text messages to project manager, Amanda, who was great at communication at first, but now has completely ghosted me as well. Meanwhile, we're still paying monthly for this backyard that is falling apart way too quickly. I'm going to just hire someone to fix the fence before it damages further. I would not recommend them again. Completely overpriced for what you get.
