I was suppose to go to The Diner but the waiting line was 25 minutes. While waiting I decided to go to the 55 and I'm glad I made this choice. I love the music they play there and the atmosphere is really nice and cozy. it is a place to bring your boyfriend or girlfriend or also have a happy hour with friends. they have many many options for cocktails, a little bit pricy but worth it. 55's menu reads like a TGIFridays cocktail list but who's complaining. The extensive choices kept me flipping pages indecisively but it was the ice cream infused choices that kept me drooling. Thanks to a happy hour 2-4-1 deal my Brazilian Monk was doubled and Leon C. and I slurped away from our extra long glasses. This drink is really filling so do what we did and pair it with a shot. One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. Okay, we didn't go that far but there would have been no one stopping us. The décor feels like a roadhouse, all wood, big chalkboard signage and standing cocktail tables. Just off the high street, the venue was busy but not packed, bar service was fairly quick considering the happy hour rates and after a very short wait we got seating. Judging from the attire of the clientele, the dress code is casual comfortable and the music is top 40 reflective. After a long day of meandering the markets or just a long day in general, join the happy hour crowd, grab an ice creamy cocktail and head to the outdoor seating. I think the best thing about this place are the fabulous drink specials. I mean 2-4-1 mojitos on Mondays and happy hour (6-8 pm) every day aside from Sunday. Can't really beat that - plus add the friendly and skilled bartenders plus an eclectic mix of music, you can't go wrong. Definitely recommend it. read more

Together with my girlfriend I went there on Friday afternoon for happy hour... and stayed there for 4 hours. Bar 55 has great atmosphere. Staff members are nice friendly. Bartenders are very, very good. When I went to a bar in order to get some cocktails, bartender within a minute noticed me and asked what I'd like to have. He was already making 2 cocktails. On my eyes he took my order and someone's. So you better make your mind when you order because you will get your drink within a 5 minutes max! It's was great to see them making it. Well I actually do like this place. I've been to a number of these types of places around London that have a cocktail menu the size of an encyclopedia, but this one is my favorite so far. The drinks were actually good and not weakened for happy hour purposes. Also, the guys actually know how to make a real margarita. It is a rare day when I come across a margarita in this town that is made with just tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, but here it was. Ok well actually it was supposed to be made with half lemon juice half lime juice, but I requested all lime juice and let the "lemon" part slip because they at least knew to use triple sec. Why Londoners think it's ok to put lemon in a margarita I don't understand. Cafe Pacifico does this, too, except they use all lemon juice and no lime juice. It's wrong. But anyway, the margarita they made was great. No simple syrup or agave was added and it was nice and sour. They also recommended a cocktail with vodka, strawberry puree, and lime juice for those who prefer cocktails a bit sweeter and not tasting much like alcohol. On Saturdays, the happy hour is from 6-8 pm, which includes 2 for £10 cocktails of the same kind whether on or off their menu (the regular margarita, for example, is not on their menu). Their menu tends to consist of fluffy, multi-ingredient cocktails, but they make the classic ones too upon request. There was outdoor seating, which is nice about twice a year in London, but this was one such time, so we sat outside. Inside is medium sized, but most of the tables are reserved from 6 pm on, so you might struggle to find a seat if you don't book. It also wasn't as rowdy as some of the other bars of this type. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

Cool and fun atmosphere in this pretty large bar situated close by Camden Town station (if you can make your way past the exit with the hundreds of promoters). This place used to do 2-4-1 deals during its happy hour on all drinks but I believe that's now changed to 2-4 ten quid which is still a bargain. The menu is huge, service is hit and miss but we used to come here for pre-drinks before heading elsewhere. read more

I do like my beer and wine but when I feel like something a little more colourful that doesn't require breaking the bank, I'll definitely stop by for a drop during one of the happiest of happy hours. I've stopped by on a weekend and also once during the week and both times this place was packed! Guess that's what adds to the appeal of the place, though. This cocktail bar is the sort of place where people go to get pissed. The cocktails here were good, but definitely not as good as other bars in Camden that charge the same price. The service was pretty slow too. Music-wise it was pretty much just indie tracks and the crowd was generally very young. If that's your thing then great, but I much prefer the vibe of Camden's Brazilian bars which do a much better mojito. read more

I personally love this place - it is my staple Camden go to pre dinner. Happy hour is 2 cocktails for a tenner served up by enthusiastic and educated staff. The menu is a cocktail loves dream book - everything from your classic old fashioned through to your weird and wonderful fruity numbers. Gets very busy and a bit loud (as you can expect) from 5-9pm but well worth a visit. I have been many a time and have yet to be disappointed. read more

Unfortunately 55 bar isn't located on the Camden High street so I keep forgetting to venture in there yet there's so much to love about the place. This bar is the greatest gem that I have come across so far in London. you can get buy one get one free cocktails, EVERY day from 6-8 at very reasonable prices, the music is great fun if a little too loud for normal conversations and the decor is really funky. But most of all, the bar staff are just incredible. Not only are they skilled, well trained cocktail makers, they are the friendliest bar staff I have ever met, cracking jokes and giving you time to have a conversation even though there are people falling over the bar because its so busy. Discovered this bar recently. I mean, it's been there for ages but I've always automatically headed for Lock Tavern or Hawley Arms when in Camden and looking for a beverage or four. Conveniently located next to Wagamamas, it's a fairly small bar but has comfy seats and is usually pretty busy. This is probably largely du to the variety of deals the bar offers on different nights - 2 for 1 cocktails, discounts on mixers, happy hour etc. It's nothing remarkable, but it is nice when you can find a cool place to have a drink that doesn't cost a painful amount of money, so I'd recommend this place. read more

Have you ever wished you could have a delicious milkshake with an alcoholic kick? Fifty Five is where you can get it! Amongst my favourites is the oreo cookie cocktail. So delicious!! The inside is a little small but as long as you get there early enough (and why would you want to miss happy hour??) you'll find a seat. Especially nice in the summer when the weather's nice as you can sit outside and indulge. There are other cocktails too which are almost as good, and pretty reasonably priced for a central location. Good Cocktails and great Happy Hour but try and get served within an hour during it on a Saturday and you can forget it! It gets packed so unless you book a table in which case its a great place to snag good drinks then go for it. The busier it gets the sloppier the cocktail though. I've given myself 4 visits of this place to come up with a 1 star rating. I really wanted to like it- happy hour drinks are 2-4-1 of the same drink for 9 pounds. They have an extensive menu. This could be a great place. The drinks however are consistently terrible and this is over the course of 4 different visits months apart. They are busy and the drinks all taste like they are mixed with everyone else's drink. I ordered a margarita and it tasted of blackberry and aniseed. The person who ordered before me had this drink. When I order a drink- I only want to drink what I've ordered not what everyone else is having. This has been a consistent problem with this place. I can see how everyone is excited for getting 241 drinks but quality is better than quantity in this instance. My friend and I had to put down our drinks- they were simply undrinkable with the mixture of everyone's drinks in ours. Overall- too loud, too busy, and very bad drinks. Perhaps I would have enjoyed this place as a student 5 + years ago with friends on a cheap night out. I'd recommend instead of offering 150 cocktails- focus on a smaller number and do those cocktails well. read more

Fun and friendly bartenders, really nice drinks and a tonne to choose from (some don't taste very strong but believe me, they are), cool vibe, love the old tour posters, music is good. Sometimes a wait to get drinks when it's busy but worth it - bartenders work very fast. Get there earlier rather than later if you want a seat (you can reserve tables). Definitely worth getting there for happy hour - 2 for 1 is glorious. read more
