Came to watch a game since I was in town on business and the hotel was right next to the ballpark. The ballpark is new and very well laid out. Entry into the stadium was easy to navigate and efficient. The people, both staff and fans, were all pleasant to interact with. Two things I would improve: The speakers were too loud. While the announcer was funny and entertaining, multiple people were talking about how loud it was. Some even moved from their seats to get some relief. The food is subpar. While the checkout procedure is modern and accommodating for the number of people being served, the quality is very poor. I highly recommend eating beforehand. I had a hamburger, fries, and a soft pretzel. The beef was worse than I've had in the military and the soft pretzel was overcooked so it wasn't really soft. My coworker had some deep fried item that looked like a heart attack waiting to happen. read more

An amazing experience with fun baseball, electric crowd, a lot of food options and beautiful stadium right in the heart of downtown Spartanburg. Nice stadium. We came for Friday night fireworks. I think the town is proud to have a baseball team again, everyone was wearing their merch! We sat behind home plate, I brought my tickets the week of and they were the only seats left apart from standing areas! The two sections behind home plate have wider more comfortable seats. The Spartanburg sign lit up at dusk really does look good. I of course had to get a burger, I didn't get it til maybe the 4th or 5th inning and the toppings bar was pretty empty, sadly - there was some odd options and seemed you could even make yourself some nachos there too! No first time buttons or certificates yet. We parked in town for free. Need to work on their fireworks show, they were just setting off the same type of firework and then moving onto the next ones. read more

Fifth Third Park in Spartanburg is home to the Hub City Spartanburgers; a single-A minor league baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers. While I hadn't heard of the team and had no plans to visit Spartanburg, a fan at a Greenville Drive told me to check them out as it was a short drive from Greenville, and they had an impressive brand new stadium that had just opened up earlier in the year. One look at the team logo and seeing a few pictures online convinced me to make the quick trip out to Spartanburg to catch a few innings of a game. The stadium is absolutely gorgeous with fun wall artwork and murals throughout with a lit up Spartanburg marquee behind home plate. Unlike many other minor league ballparks, they have seating beyond the outfield wall where you can catch a home run ball. There are plenty of food options including Bojangles, Jeremiah's Italian Ice, and other ballpark favorites. While the team shop wasn't exactly cheap, they did have some mid-range budget options for those that aren't looking to spend a lot of money on souvenirs/merchandise. The fun logo has created an excited fanbase as they were selling a lot of team merchandise when I visited. They do have a convenient parking deck adjacent to the stadium, but it was sold out the day I visited so late arriving fans were struggling to find parking on the local streets nearby the ballpark. All in all, this was probably my most favorite minor league ballpark experience of five I happened to visit this past season. I'd recommend a visit should you like minor league baseball and you find yourself in the Greenville-Spartanburg area of South Carolina. read more

We may just have the best burger toppings bar in baseball. The Spartanburger was good and the topping options have a wide variety. The topping bar had everything from cereal and pulled pork, to chips and macaroni & cheese. They encourage everyone to visit the topping bar after getting fries or a burger (free of charge). read more

Fifth Third Ball Park for the Spartanburgers is the kind of place that makes you want to eat a hot dog in one hand, a burger in the other, and maybe balance a funnel cake on your head--just because you can. This park may be small in size, but it's got the heart (and the condiments) of a giant. Seriously, I was informed by a concessions wizard that we now boast the largest condiment bar in the league. I always thought ketchup, mustard, and relish were the standards, but here, pulled pork, onion rings, and mac and cheese are apparently "condiments." I'm not sure if I was supposed to put them on my burger or just eat them by the shovel-full, but either way, I'm in! The park itself is sparkling clean, with more amenities than a Swiss Army knife. There are premium suites, a massive club space, and even an outfield berm for those who like their baseball with a side of grass stains. Our seats on opening night were so good, I half-expected to be asked to pinch-hit. The between-inning entertainment was top-notch--think dizzy bat races, t-shirt cannons, and enough crowd games to make you forget you're not actually a contestant on a game show. And let's talk about the atmosphere: the energy was electric, the crowd was buzzing, and the only thing more impressive than the Spartanburgers' victory was the sheer number of burger puns I overheard. (My favorite: "Lettuce win!") The team's mascot--a burger wearing a train conductor's cap--was out there flipping, running, and generally living its best life. By the end of the night, not only did the Spartanburgers bring home a win, but so did the city. Fifth Third Ball Park is exactly the kind of fun, quirky, and deliciously entertaining shot in the arm Spartanburg needed. If you haven't checked it out yet, grab your appetite, your sense of humor, and maybe a bib. This is one ballpark experience you'll relish--pun absolutely intended. read more

Had a great time at the new ballpark. Not a bad seat in the house that I could see. Fun atmosphere - great for the whole family. Do yourself a favor and go to the restaurant at the front of the park rather than the concession stand at the back. For a team called the "Spartanburgers", the concession burgers were lacking. A friend got a Spartanburger from the front and it looked amazing. I definitely try that next time! read more

I will first say that the park itself is really great. It's a nice venue, but there are some much needed improvements that need to be made. We made arrangements for a private space for a family gathering. We were promised that the entire patio was for our use, which I confirmed with the salesperson. We were to have food and drinks available for our use only. We paid in advance for parking, and for the venue itself. I asked if there would be a way to make sure our area was private and was assured that it was. That was not true. People kept wandering in and taking our food, which was not really ballpark food like hamburgers and hot dogs. It was pork sliders and boiled potatoes. We were assured that there were ushers to direct us to our venue. Nope. We were instructed to go to customer service. We were told to take the elevator up to our venue. However, since we were an outside area, we were refused access via the elevator and instructed to walk up the stairs. If we needed a bathroom we had to go back down those same stairs, walk around the venue and go up another set of stairs to reach it, and then do the whole thing in reverse to get back to the party. There is no coffee whatsoever in the entire park. Really? We were told there would be games like corn hole and connect4. Nope. After finally going and asking, we were told the Connect4 was broken. There had been some rain, and the corn hole bags were left out and were soaking wet. We were not told that the parking that we paid for in advance was far away from the entrance. We were not told where to get our wristbands. There was a glitch the day before the event and no one could access their tickets. It was finally rectified the day of the event but in the meantime the stress of worrying about guests (some of whom had come from other states!) being able to get in pretty much soured me on ever using their venue again. There are other things I won't mention but suffice it to say, don't ask for Milliken patio. The best I can say for it is meh. read more
