NOTE: This review is based solely on customer service. I do not have an account here anymore…read morebecause there are very few branches in my area and it was inconvenient. I came here a few days ago to resolve a dispute regarding a refund to a closed bank account. (I bought a LivingSocial deal that couldn't be used and had it refunded, only to have the refund sent to a bank account that didn't exist anymore. After calling all parties involved, it was suggested I go to a branch in person.) One of the bankers took his time to call various departments and resolve the issue with me. He was very patient and supportive, despite the fact that I didn't even have an account there anymore! If every bank had someone like him working there, I think we'd all feel a lot more at ease with our banking experiences. If you go to this bank, be sure to get in touch with the right person! I also had a very nice woman help me out here months ago when I closed my account. It's people like them that made me wish I didn't go elsewhere!

I have to start out by saying, that the only reason I'm giving my review 1 star, is just so I can…read moreget my review in. 2nd, my review applies only to the branch on 1 s. Genesse street, in Waukegan , Il. "IF" I had known , how this place treats it customers, I would had never stepped a foot in there. Even thought all the people that we dealt with were Latin people, with the exception of 2 ladies, ( one of them quit, the other is a cashier ) , they all turned out to be despotic and rude. But that's not the reason why I closed my account in there, they are also crooked , OH, they make it look legal all right. Save yourself a bad time and a lot of money, and pass up this dump.

My parents were customers of Glenview State Bank for many many years. So when it was taken over by…read moreBusey they stayed as customers. My father passed away last year and dealing with Busey In regards to his several accounts has been nothing short of a nightmare. It took me months to be able to present all the documents they needed for me to be put on his main checking account as trustee. Most recently I needed three medallion signatures on paperwork in regards to my mother who passed away many years ago. She still has a checking account there for whatever reason I do not know. Months prior, I had presented all the necessary paperwork to be added as trustee on her account. Since I know not everyone does medallion signatures, I purposely called a week ahead of time and made an exact time to meet with someone who could provide me with those . The person on the phone seemed rather clueless, but made the appointment and assured me that someone would be there that could do the medallion signatures. When I showed up for my appointment last week, the person at the front desk looked at me funny, and asked me who I spoke to. Obviously, there was no appointment on their books. She then handed me a piece of paper with a extensive list of all the documents that I needed to have brought with me in order to get the medallion signatures. I told her that the person who took my appointment never told me any of this. They also informed me that they charged $30 per medallion signature so my little endeavor would cost me $90 that day. I was very frustrated by the lack of knowing any of this stuff before I arrived so someone took me to their office to explain things further. I told them that I had brought in all the necessary paperwork months ago to get put onto my mother's account, but they told me that I needed all these documents, some of them that I have never even heard of, in order to be able to get medallion signatures. No exceptions. They also informed me that they need to turn all the paperwork over to their back offices and so even if I did bring all the proper paperwork that day, they could not give me the signatures that day. Mind you, I live an hour away from this bank. The way they handled this whole situation was cold in my opinion. When I relayed this information to my attorney who's handling my father's estate, she was shocked and said that she has dealt with many financial institutions after clients have passed away and has never heard of such regulations and lack of sympathy for the situation. This week I will be transferring my parents accounts from Busey over to Chase Bank closer to my house, where they willingly help me with my father's accounts there and have given me numerous medallion signatures at no cost for any of them. I will be glad to be done with dealing with Busey Bank.

Granted we were spoiled by our hometown bank, Glenview State Bank. Unfortunately, they sold out to…read moreBusey Bank. Busey is the worst bank I have dealt with. Aside from the limited services they offer compared to GSB, they no longer are open at our branch on Saturdays, don't offer foreign money services and if you deposit a check that bounced, you can't redeposit the check but have to wait until they mail it back to you and then redeposit it. According to the teller, they don't keep a copy of the check which I find astounding in the age of limitless technology. The ATM machine at our branch was unavailable for several days recently. I have already moved most of my money out of Busey and only keep my checking account to facilitate my automatic bill paying.
