La Fiesta Mexicana is well known in the surrounding neighborhoods, but perhaps a little under the radar in the balance of Stockton. Very diverse menu of delicious home-style Mexican food. Good selection of "mariscos y pescados", seafood and fish. Fantastic home-made salsas. Ordered takeout. Beans have a strange chemical taste. Cheese didn't melt indicating some sort of fake cheese product. The worst though was the homemade flour tortillas. You could tell they were old because once exposed to the air they hardened. Never again read more

My family has gone in the middle of the week and ordered an empanada that came out to $7 dollars or so, so when we went as a family on Sunday, why the hell was it $18 when we looked at the receipt? This place was great!!! We came in on a Friday with a group of ten. They were so kind and accommodating. We ordered our food and the service was friendly and fast. The food was great also. I got the tacos and my husband got some shrimp tostadas. I ate some of his tostadas and loved it. The salsa is spicy but sooo good! Must try this place. read more

After over an hour wait after waiting 25 min to sit, 20 to order drinks, we were excited to get our food. Unfortunately another place I would not recommend. They stock up the shrimp cocktail with shrimp (not cleaned) wit no taste nor tomato nor cucumber so it's shrimp in water and you get this sauce and Tapatio and ketchup to our in. The dark sauce was horrible and even smelled bad. They made a mistake on my order, so I had to wait another 15 minutes. Alas we were trying to eat, but the food was flavorless, until I bit into something that gave me suck a bad taste in my mouth, I felt sick. They forgot the tacos and we asked for them, so we got them. No salsa? I got up to ask if they had any salsa for the tacos, and she pointed at the horrible black sauce that they brought for the cocktail and the Tapatio . She says that's the red and the green salsa on your table ‍ ohhhhh lawd I'm so grateful to go home & cook. So maybe there is something I'm missing here because I really expected to get beautiful authentic flavors and good simple food, but I wouldn't even feed this food to my pet. The food was a bit disappointing I ordered the chilaquiles and they were swimming in salsa food wasn't too warm and the chips were soggy it was like chips in salsa soup. Sides were tiny. The home made tortillas were sooo good. Most of us had tacos; pollo, carne asada, and carnitas were all juicy. Served with cilantro and onions, no salsa. Best homemade and 100% authentic Mexican food in Stockton. I've been here a few times and always great. The customer service is great. I asked for lemonade and got fresh Agua de limon. The flour tortillas were soft and very yummy. Instead of sour cream I got the Mexican crema and was very delicious. Really does remind me of my mom's cooking. Stopped in for lunch. I was looking for a fast food type place but this was not it. It was slightly slow. But also pretty busy. There's not that many tables/booths - maybe less than 10 and they were all full. I ordered the mulita quesadilla, which a corn tortilla quesadilla. I only learned about it and had it for the first time a month ago. I really like this twist on a quesadilla and wonder where it has been all my life. However this version at this place seemed more deep fried rather than grilled so it wasn't my favorite. But it was good and came on a plate with rice and beans and some salad. They also asked if fried was ok and what type of cheese I wanted - so maybe there's options but I was too much in a hurry to ask. I also got like a white Mexican cheese and it wasn't very melt-y. The Carnitas here are no joke...full of flavor, but not full of grease. I ordered the Carnitas Taco and Burrito; the taco was generously full of meat and fresh, crispy lettuce and tomato. A bit of cheese added a little saltiness, although not overdone. The burrito? Well, I barely ate any of it because I filled up on their outstanding chips and salsa. My friend and I both ordered Tacos and they were good but the sope wasn't good, no taste at all. The burrito was bland and they forgot my cheese and sour cream! Beans were horrible, no seasoning and very watery ! The chips and the salsa was very good . Enjoyed that the most ! We waited about 35 mins for our food to come out and there was one other person in there that came before us that had been taken care of already.
