If you haven't been here before, there's nothing particularly special about this place. It's the New Braunfels bowling alley -- a longtime staple that's always been around. I used to come here as a kid, and while I understand times have changed, I was shocked at how expensive it's gotten. It cost $70 for two adults and one child to bowl for just one hour. On top of that, the bar drinks were not reasonably priced either -- about $40 for two beers and two well drinks. We came hoping for a fun, affordable family night. While we did have fun bowling, it was nowhere near cheap, and the overall value just wasn't there. Next time, if we feel the need to bowl, we'll probably head over to Santikos, where at least the area and experience feel more worth what you're paying. read more

Walked in at 9:30pm on a Sunday, made a 30 minute drive out to see the place from our air bnb. Posted closing times are on the door of the establishment and also on their website online. After asking to rent a lane, the guy at the front desk cuts me off as I'm speaking and says they are not taking anymore customers as they are closing in 15 minutes. It's 9:30pm. They close at 11. The guy at the front desk proceeds to stare me and my party down after I said okay all good as we walked out the door. It's one thing to not post the correct closing times on your own establishments website and on the door of the place, but it's another to make people feel like they shouldn't have been there In the first place. Customer Service is horrible they respond via email and ask questions then never call you back and when you submit another response they finally call you back with attitude and tell you it's not their fault they didn't call you back they aren't at your beck & call! My boyfriend and I came out on a Friday night and I was expecting more of a wait. I'd called earlier during the day and spoke with the owner, Thomas, who informed me that demand fluctuates so there wasn't a reliable estimate on wait times for lane. We come in around 9pm and do the lunar special ($22.99 per person, shoes included, for two hours of bowling). We got a lane immediately and managed to get through five games in the first hour and a half. Five games are more than enough to tire you out, so we called it a night after that. I lost all five, but I was about to win the fourth if I hadn't had the win stolen from me by three strikes in the 10th turn. I would recommend Fiesta Lanes to anyone looking to do bowling in the San Marcos/New Braunfels area. The only thing I will say is that bowling seems to be rather expensive in Texas compared to where I'm from--every alley I looked up seemed to be more than $20/person. I don't remember ever paying more than $20/person for a satisfactory bowling experience at home, but compared to other offerings in the area I'd say the lunar special is a pretty good deal. read more

In July of 2024 I book a lunar party for my daughters to take place on October 19, 2024. I paid a total of $419.37 for this party to take place. However, when I arrived at 7:45pm I was told "they can not turn off the lights for the black light bowling because the bowling league was running late. That maybe at 8:30pm they would turn off the lights", then I was told at 8:30pm that at 9pm the lights would come off and the black lights would be on. I am so furious about this, while they did compromise to turn on a few of the black light at our lane, however I paid extra for a lunar party (black lights, disco ball, fun lights and fun music). I was not offered a discount; however, I only received half the experience. The lunar effects came on at 9pm. My party was for my 8-year-old, so half of her guests had left by this point. I understand the league is important, but I should be as well. The league ran over, so why does the rest of the bowling alley have to suffer for this? The Lunar Party is a service set up by Fiesta Lanes, I paid extra for this service that I did not receive. I am requesting either a credit for this section of my party that was ruined and the fact that I had to stop my party to deal with this for 45 minutes. This is unexpectable business practice, every guest should be important not just the league. I am also requesting that this policy change. If the bowling league is running late, that should be on them, not the rest of the bowling alley. It is not our reasonability to accommodate for them. Every time I have been at Fiesta Lanes and the league is there, I find that this is the main priority. If this is how Fiesta Lane runs their business, I will start taking my business to Santiko, honestly Santiko and Fiesta Lane are the same price and what adversities is what you get, they do not change their policy. read more

Had an absolutely delightful afternoon here with my family. For all intents and purposes, Fiesta Lanes is a bowling alley just like every other bowling alley I've ever been to. You walk in, pay money to wear shoes that thousands before you have worn and choose a bowling ball that thousands before you have thrown. I tend to think of bowling alleys as smoker's paradise but this one was smoke-free. They have a full counter of stadium-style foods (nachos, hot dogs, cheese fries, gallons of cokes and beer, etc) and an arcade room for when you are just a bit bored throwing balls at pins. What Fiesta Lanes does right is being affordable. They have these bowling happy hours (Bowl Your Head Off Wednesdays for $5) that will keep your pocket book happy. They have several lanes, which is helpful to keep the crowds in check. Some of the equipment was broken and a bit dated, but the staff was always right there to help us get back into the game. (Not your typical "bowling alley food") please forgive me if I spell names wrong but I'll do my best because they are so kind and helpful! Lanore was taking my order at the cafè and let me tell you! She is so sweet and accommodating! Annabel at the bar is a DOLL! She remembers us every time we come for league night. I see her leave the bar to take care of people bowling who can't leave! I usually bowl at University, and have also been visiting Fiesta regularly for practice over the past several months due to proximity to my home. Fiesta is a very nice bowling center, with good prices, clean facilities, outstanding lane techs and a fine snack bar. They seem to have an active bowling community, and I am happy to see families bringing their children in to discover and enjoy the sport. I usually tend to find more open lanes available at Fiesta on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays when they first open; however, one should simply call first to find out what is happening on any given day. I would offer only four friendly suggestions to Fiesta from my experience at University Bowl. They may have good reasons for not doing these things, so take these as simply my personal observations: (1) I would like to see their regular front desk/cashiers become more amicable and possibly remember my name when I come in to bowl, since I have been a regular customer for a quite a while now. It's OK if they don't, of course, but I am drawn toward friends; (2) I would like to be able to leave a credit card when I visit and be charged for the actual number of games I bowl after I'm finished (for convenience) instead of being charged for a set number of games in advance, which frequently changes after I get warmed up; (3) I would like to see Fiesta offer support merchandise (like logo tee-shirts), for customers to buy and show support for their business; and (4) I would like to see a broader range of merchandise and exposure for their pro shop, which is staffed by super nice, accommodating people. I think they have more potential. Bottom line: I truly enjoy bowling at Fiesta Lanes, and believe you will, too. read more

This is a nice, clean, family friendly place. Sunday bowling is $4 per person and shoes are $3.25 per pair. My 4 year-old bowled for free with shoe rental. The concessions are reasonably priced and the food is pretty good. With food, three adults and two kids were out the door for less than $60. This was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. While in New Braunfels for the night we decided to go bowling. The place was larger than I thought and really clean and organized. I was expecting to pay less than $100 maybe $60-75 for 5 adults and 1 child (2.5 year old) to bowl a couple (3 games). The total was $100 ($17/person). Blew my mind. I was charged $17 for a child who is less than 3-years old. But I paid. When I take him bowling at other venues I normally don't pay for him just his shoes as long as any adults bowl and pay. So this was a first. The place is family friendly and were there on a Friday night so at one point the lights went off and the black lights and club lights came on which was fun for my kiddo. But that is when more drinking started with other parties around us. To be expected on a Friday night I guess. My last hour there, a small group of guys who were friends with a couple of guys working kept coming to give them free games and drinks. This was annoying because I paid and they did not. I don't own this business but was annoying to have these guys acting the way they were who had too much to drink. We cut our last game short and left. The restroom could be cleaner, a lot cleaner. The parking lot was big and well lit. The staff was friendly. Price wasn't what expected so I will not be back. I'll stick to my normal venues in San Marcos, Kyle and South Austin where I don't have to pay almost $20 for my son to half play because like all kids he has a short attention span. read more

Very clean and family friend bowling alley! Don't let the outside appearance fool you. They have many specials and great bowling prices (especially if you come bowl before 5pm). The shoes and lanes were clean and personal bowling balls were easy to find for my dad, little brother, and myself. Even with a birthday party going on, I still felt like there was plenty of room for my family and I to bowl freely. They also have many food and drinks specials going on for each day. (Especially for alcohol!) They have a wide variety of your typical bowling alley food such as pizza, nachos, Frito pie, French fries, and etc... Only complaint I have would be the young lady with the red hair who worked behind the front desk. She was annoyed when my dad and I asked about the differing prices in terms of each game and hourly. Her tone was rude and her answers were short and abrupt. It was obvious she did not want to be there and while we were trying to hold a conversation with her, she was complaining to her coworkers about other things and continued to sigh every time we asked her a question. Went here this past weekend for my daughter's birthday around 3pm and they had plenty of lanes open. They were busy, but not so busy that I didn't get 2 lanes quickly. Fiesta has that same "bowling alley" smell that you find at all old bowling allies. It hasn't changed in thousands of years and its still the same old bowling alley from when i was in high school (over 10 years ago).. I don't think its bad, but living in Austin I have seen shnazzy bowling alleys and then the "reg" bowling alleys (does that sound snobby? lol :/ ). They do have bumpers for kids, 4.50 a game on weekends and 4.00 a game on weekdays before 5pm. Shoes are 3.50 a pair and or 24.99 a hour for bowling. They have an eating area, bar, and a old arcade area. I would go back because well its nicer then the San Marcos bowling alley and its priced good. I did have a lot of fun and my nephews (2 1/2 years old, and 17 month old) had a blast. My 10 year old loved it too.. We had a group of 8 people and used 2 lanes. read more

My one complaint, NO WIFI If I want to "check-in" I have to do it from the parking lot since cell service and spotty and there is no Wifi inside. Come on, it's 2013, even McDonalds has free Wifi!!! Ok, other than the lack of wifi, this place is great. My family has bowled leagues here for years. The staff keeps things running smooth despite the aging equipment. Sure, there are equipment breakdowns that disrupt play; I bowled in brand-new state of the art ally's that had far more mechanical issues. The thing that sets the house apart for us is its youth bowling program. The volunteer coaching is second to none!! In most houses, the only kids that get any attention from the coaches are the ones that bowl well or have been bowling for years. Not here, everyone gets help from the coaches. The kid that bowls 25 or 225, every kid is given coaching in all the basic of bowling. I don't see favoritism for any kid over the others. Sadly, we recently lost a fantastic coach and corner stone to the youth program. Larry is sorely missed but, others have stepped up kids and the program keeps moving forward.
