The birria tacos came with 3 regular sized tacos and honestly each one is pretty dense with meat and cheese. The consome also had some meat although, I think it was beef and not goat. Everything was tender but the flavor was just ok for me. My mom wanted a carnitas super burrito and this was pretty good. Lots of meat and some bits were crispy just how I like it. I wouldn't mind getting it again but I do want to try their al pastor next time. Their fish plate was pretty good as well. Loved the crispness of the fish and it didn't feel greasy or heavy. It came with avocados, rice, beans, lettuce and 4 flour tortillas. I wouldn't mind getting this again. A basket of chips came for each person as soon as we sat down and there was a healthy selection of salsa. I didn't care for the chips itself as they were too salty for me. The ambiance is very festive and there were plenty of people coming in and out. We dined in and found myself wishing they gave real silverware rather than plastic. We were only give one real fork for the fish and it was difficult to break apart. Their plastic cutlery was also pretty flimsy so we mostly ate with our hands. Overall, I'd still come back and try other dishes.

The food looked delicious, eye candy. Parking is limited. It's a small place, but big enough to come in with a fairly large group. We walked in and sat down. I noticed a huge counter with a big television screen playing music videos of Latin music, jamming. There were a couple of tables and cultural decor. It was clean and inviting. The server greeted us and brought us chips and salsa verde. The salsa verde was to my liking, perfect amount of spicy. The server came back and took our orders: - Caldo de res (my order), came with rice, tortillas, and cilantro with onions - Grilled chicken tacos - Chicken quesadilla My caldo res was tasty and so good. I love the flavor of the broth. Big portion for me. I finished it though lol. I tasted hubby's tacos and quesadilla, also yummy. I love that they grilled the chicken, gives the flavor more depth. This will be one of our local spots. Thank you, El Taconazo for cooking for us.

The shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp, avocado, and cucumber which was delicious. But the actual cocktail juice was light in flavor. Because we took it to go I was able to doctor it up with some extra cocktail sauce, horseradish, hot sauce and lemon. I also loved that they serve saltines with their shrimp cocktail because some places just give chips. The fried fish was delicious and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the aguachilles before they ran out which might mean they were good.

It took over 20 minutes for this to come out, piping hot. It took another 10 minutes for this to cool down before I can eat it. This was a melodies of flavors. The sour chopped pineapple pieces went well with the red sauce. This came with some saltine crackers. Generally, saltine crackers come with soup. This also came with two crispy tortillas. The shrimps were de-shelled with tail removed, but not deveined. Halfway through my meal, I realized this was meant for two people. It is a big dish. The highlight for me was the smoky bacon. It was a nice surprise to find bacon at a taqueria. Service was good for an order at the cashier type of restaurant. Their other location by SF State University has good taco salads. I will have to try it at this location. Good job staff at Taqueria Dos Charros. Lunch was OK today.

I guess it makes sense but it didn't really clock until I ordered here in person but the portion of pozole was way larger here. It was served with a generous portion of onions and cabbage but no Mexican oregano. They do have it, I guess you just have to ask! Salsa bar has 3 salsas- red, green and orange. There are also 2 other items there such as pickled red onions and pickled/lime cucumbers, Serrano or jalapeños and red onions. Yum! Michelada came in a frosty AF mug which is reason in and of itself to come by. So good.

My attempt to do this solo failed miserably. At least they have to-go boxes. The steak and shrimps have a charred flavor. The inside, with the chicken, fish, shrimp and pork sausage had a smokey bean flavor combined with snap of green onions and bell peppers. I was surprised the heated stoneware didn't dry out the meats. It was perfect. Service was excellent for a pay at the cashier and they bring you the food type of restaurant. You have to ask at the cashier to re-fill your water. The self service salsa bar is a plus. They will give you actual silverware and plate if you ask. Minor nit. The price on the electronic wall menu was $32.95. The price on the cash register is $34.27. I paid in cash. They need to update the wall menu.
