Terrible. Unprofessional. Felt scammy. I got a call for a study with specific instructions they want me to follow. I wasn't able to talk but I called them back within the hour to discuss the details. No one picked up. I left a voicemail that no one returned. The original voicemail I received included the study date and what I should do. So two days later, on the day of the study, I messaged them to see if I'm still signed up as a respondent. No one replied. Not even a courtesy "no, we found another respondent and the group is closed." I'm not sure if anyone actually works here other than the lady who called me, but in my experience the way they handled things was incredibly unprofessional. If this is how they treat focus group respondents, why would anyone want to commission a research study with them? They certainly won't get my vote if my employer, a large media company, ever needs a research partner. read more

What a friggin' joke company. I wasted my time on the phone answering questions that I already answered in the questionnaire they previously e-mailed me. I'm provided with 2 dates and times for their next focus group. I agree on a day and time for me to be in the focus group, but then I'm told that they now have to run my answers through their so-called computer...huh?? I was originally sent a survey invitation from one of my coworkers. I filled it out and submitted with the company. Of course, there's no guarantee you'll qualify for a focus group session even though you have submitted a survey. I received a call from them about a week later. Unfortunately I was busy at the time of the call, but luckily they left a voice mail. I called them back about 30 minutes later and the employee was really nice. She asked me very similar questions to what was on the survey. After she verified my answers, she confirmed I qualified for a focus group session. I made an appointment, she sent over some instructions, and confirmed my personal information. At the appointment, I checked in and as a group we were escorted over to a room with multiple seats and Ipads at each seat. We answered some questions on the tablet regarding the product. The session lasted about an hour. Once we were done, the employee from the front desk handed out the envelops with the money inside. So I initially stumbled across this study on Facebook for a survey they were trying to get people to participate in. Decided to give in and take the survey and they gave me a call. They wanted to ask me a series of questions to see if I passed the screening to actually come in. I was eligible to come in based on my answers. Came in to the office in Irvine and was pretty much simple and basic. They gave you an iPad and took about an hour of your time and at the end there was no catch. If you ever asked yourself how come no one asked my opinion on something, an item or something you use on a daily basis, this is your place. You have to call and have your name added to the call list. When they have a new item that needs pre-input before hitting market they call several people in for a round table discussion. I did one the last week for an hour and forty mins and was paid $100.00 for my time and input in a new smart door lock for home. Its a nice way to make a little extra cash and have a little fun also. The way it works is they have something that needs reviewing. They call you up and ask you a series of questions. I get here and they only pick the other person to go into the interview, but they still paid me in full for showing up. I'm not complaining, I was just confused on why they asked us both here if their intention was only to bring in one person. A waste of time. I get calls from these people, they ask me questions for about 20 minutes then tell me I don't fit their algorithm......this AFTER filling out a questionnaire a few days before which lead to the call. Why would they call AFTER I filled everything out? If my answers did not fit their criteria, why call and waste my time? Not to mention over the last 8 months or so, I have actually been scheduled for 3-4 groups.....yes, booked and given a time to come in for groups. I set the time aside, changed some of my plans, just to have them call me THE DAY OF saying something changed, I am no longer needed. I even emailed the President recently to ask her why this keeps happening, and she simply said sorry for the inconvenience......but I was never given an answer as of why. She never took the time to explain to me why one day I am told I fit the group, then a day later they waste 30 mins of my time asking me questions only to be told I now don't fit. I guess my time just was not that important to her. Once, maybe twice I might understand.....but every time the same thing? They obviously red flag certain people and no matter if you fit the group criteria or not, they will ask you 20 minutes of questions, then you get the "sorry, you don't fit our algorithm" answer. By the way, this is not based on just 1 time...this has happened NO LESS than a dozen times over the last 8-12 months....yes, EVERY TIME. read more

Be prepared to be paid with a Visa debit card,of which you can't easily cash out. I went to my bank to cash out this piece of crap card, and it was declined. I find out that it can ONLY be cashed out at an ATM. You are charged $3 by the VIsa issuer, and then you are charged whatever your bank charges for an ATM fee in addition. That means you get to lose at least $6 to $10 from the amount you were promised by Fieldwork. I am sure this deceit works for Fieldwork, because they "bank" on you not fully cashing out this card and they get to keep the remainder. Just be aware of this scam. read more
