Yesterday, my partner held a rehearsal party at the Reverie for her son's upcoming wedding. In this otherwise busy urban section of Lexington Ave, a group of unrelated building structures have come together to form an garden oasis that has been designed and manicured to form a wonderful event space. One couldn't ask for a better indoor/outdoor space. We were so blessed to have mild sunny weather for the entire event; every area of the beautifully decorated venue was embraced and appreciated by our 30+ guests; their complements were effusive. It is a space, however, which can handle many more. The air-conditioned, nicely stocked indoor bar, feast table(s), photo-booth, and sitting area rounded out a truly perfect event venue. But wait, it doesn't stop there. Abbey and staff exemplify a management team that is friendly, helpful and proactive. Abbey was always present on the scene offering to assist in every way possible. We sent her the music list in advance and she took care of the sound system including a microphone was crisp and clear. It was clear that everyone including staff had an enjoyable time. My partner had a vision of what she wanted, Abbey fulfilled it. Our feast table theme was Spanish tapas; 67 Biltmore catering executed our curated menu to a T. Individual dessert servings of fresh fruit shortcakes were provided by Reverie. Reverie also have a full kitchen space if wants an all-in-one option. The outdoor space has an area with a raised plateau (stage) which was excellent for the rehearsal practice and could be utilized in many creative ways. There are many parking options in walking distance, including street meter parking. I wish I had taken some pictures but was too involved in event. Abbey has wonderful pics on the website.

The reception lodge was plenty large enough for over 100 guests with plenty of additional space, allowing for a perfect rain or shine event, and the covered porch was comfy and provided spectacular mountain views. The landscaping was gorgeous; in short, the setting could not have been more heavenly. There was no need for an event planner, as Cheri's many years of experience and dedication were invaluable and deeply appreciated. She really knows her stuff!! Are you military? Then Sleepy Hollow doesn't want your business…read more We were looking at Sleepy Hollow Inn and Event Center yesterday as a potential wedding venue. We are a military couple and already married (eloped), but want to have a "real deal" wedding for our friends and family. We were drawn to SH because of their cheap, "all inclusive" packages. They have upfront pricing and a strong web presence. We went up to Swannanoa to meet with Danrae, the owner and coordinator, and tour the site. We arrived before her and poked around to get a feel for the site. Unfortunately, the highway noise was unbelievably loud throughout the small property. My wife wanted to veto the venue altogether, but I said that we should wait for Danrae and give it a fair shot. When she showed up, we asked her what others had done about the noise. She claimed that no one had ever mentioned it (but it's so loud!) and that the officiant would have a mic. She gave us a tour of the rooms and property, and everything is pretty, but smaller than the online photos would have you believe. It is truly, truly compact. When she sat us down to discuss the packets, the meeting took a turn for the worst. We told her that we were looking for October 2016, but that we couldn't set a date for at least another month. We weren't asking her to hold a date for us or anything -- just saying that we couldn't put a deposit down yesterday. We promised to get back to her in a couple of weeks. She told us that she "hesitated" to book us for a desirable October weekend *at all* because we were military and "who knows" what the military would do. That's right: She didn't want to book us because of the military. Despite how friendly their site looks towards military and how much they seem to support it, she would prefer someone with more stability to book her venue. She said that she could book the October weekends "ten times over" to people who wouldn't get deployed or pulled on a mission, and that she would be taking a big chance on us. This is no way to honor a veteran's service -- by "hesitating" to let them spend their money on your business. When I pointed out that my wife was *serving our country*, Danrae said that she didn't mean to offend me. Well, of course she offended me. And it should offend you, too.

My cousin rented out the entire venue for his wedding…read more The Sleepy Hollow Inn was very cozy and warm. I loved being able to spend time with my whole extended family in the same place. It was very intimate (versus staying at a hotel where there are other people outside of the bride and groom's friends and family). The house was filled with antique-style furnishings. It felt very cabin-like. I love that the area was secluded far away from polluted and noisy cities. The surrounding nature was nothing short of breathtaking. There were a few creeks nearby. I went for a run in the morning with some family members and it was just wonderful! The location is great for a getaway. There is a large, green lawn outside separating the house from a pond nearby. The pond is filled with fish and has a fountain spouting from the center. In front of the pond is a pretty, white gazebo where the bride and groom were married. I loved the reception area (which was a separate building where guests could eat dinner and dance after the wedding ceremony). It had a cabin-like atmosphere as well and was very spacious. At the rehearsal dinner, there was a big dinner laid out for us in the dining room. I am not sure if Sleepy Hollow Inn catered the dinner. The dinner consisted of heavy southern foods: Beans, hush puppies, sliced tomatoes, potato salad, dinner rolls, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken. Appetizers: Cheesy spinach dip with crackers, deviled eggs. Beverages: Iced (sweet) tea, wine, beer. The food was delicious but not the healthiest choices. I felt uncomfortably sluggish afterwards, but I enjoyed myself while eating the food. The place has a continental breakfast. The continental breakfast on the first morning (which was on a Saturday) was very mediocre. Breakfast choices included cereals, milk, juice, fruit and different kinds of bagels (along with cream cheese, butter and jam). The breakfast choices on the second morning (Sunday) were far better. I like hot foods in the morning. They served sausages, eggs, potatoes and pancakes. There was also fruits and juice. As for the dinner on the night of the wedding ceremony, the appetizers were buffalo chicken wings, meatballs (so delicious), and spinach-and-cheese stuffed mushroom caps. Dinner consisted of macaroni and cheese, salad with dressing (some kind of vinaigrette), chicken with creamy sause, pork chops, mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the appetizers more than the dinner itself. Beverages: three selections of beer, three selections of wine, sweet tea. The staff was very kind and seemed eager to accommodate (though not easily reachable in the off hours). I had several complaints: In my room (the Hydrangea room), the bed stunk so bad. I thought the sheets were not washed, but I took off the sheets and I realized the source of the stench was the mattress. It smelled as though it were soaked with old sweat or as if a dead body was sewn into the mattress. It was absolutely terrible! I slept there the first night (it was too late and I was not sure who I was supposed to talk to about that problem, as the staff had seemed to retire for the night). My sister and I slept in my parent's room the second night. The plumbing could use some work (especially the bathroom beside the Hydrangea room). It was really hard to flush things down the toilet. The bathrooms did not feel as clean as a hotel.

Our guests absolutely loved this venue! We received so many compliments saying it was one of the best wedding venues they've been to. I've attended 4 events at this space and each one were great experiences. The first was our friends wedding and opening weekend for the venue. The food was top notch, cocktails and bar service rocked! Second was a Chamber of Commerce meet & greet event! Food and drinks were both notch and the zen garden setting made for an impeccable time getting connected with other local businesses. Third was a special brunch event that the staff throw a few times each season to get locals into the space to enjoy. They had a jazz band and Chef Ward puts out beautiful and tasty brunch fare! We reserved a table for 20 as it was our close friends birthday celebration and everyone raved about the experience! Forth was another wedding with the same outstanding hospitality and genuine staff we met on our previous visits. We only knew a handful of others attending but the space made for an excellent backdrop to make new friends and dance the night away!!! It was a very chilly night so we didn't utilize the outside space, but having seen it in daylight previously, I can say that the gardens are beautiful and picturesque. The inside is warm and inviting and has beautiful use of wood in the structure. The sound system is amazing for background music. The high-top and 8' tables and chairs were nice looking and in great shape, which is very important. The bar area is beautiful and was thoughtfully accented with holiday decorations. First, I would like to say what an amazing, accommodating staff!! Alexandra, the wedding and events director, was so helpful, pleasant, kind, efficient and responsive. She is totally amazing. She was on-site, helping clear dishes and making sure everything went smoothly throughout the entire evening. We typically serve "heavy hor d'oeuvres" in a buffet style, which is what we did for this event. Chef Joey was so easy to work with in setting the menu and was open to suggestions. He and his staff did a phenomenal job on everything from the amazing food to making sure the buffet was nicely arranged and full of food at all times. Let me say again, the food was amazing! The bartender was pleasant, efficient and very nice. The drinks she made were great and my husband said she treated him like a king. We had such great response and reviews from our clients, many who have attended our Christmas events for many years. Those who commented only had nice, complementary things to say about their experience at Weaver House. Highly recommend!!

They made the entire wedding planning process so easy and stress-free, and we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. The kind of expertise, attention to detail, and thoughtfulness they exude is rare; you don't see this at many wedding venues. Jen is WONDERFUL: passionate, creative, incredibly responsive, and genuinely invested in making your wedding everything you've dreamed of. Kimberly, our day-of coordinator, was also 10/10 FANTASTIC. She went above and beyond for us and made sure every detail was taken care of so we could actually relax and enjoy our day. Honestly, the entire staff is so friendly and clearly cares a lot about this business. My family couldn't stop talking about how wonderful everyone was! And speaking of the big day... it was perfect. We owe so much of that to the Haiku team and their ability to bring our vision and dreams to life. Every single vendor we worked with also commented on how incredible Haiku is to work with, which says so much about the kind of team they are. I seriously cannot recommend this venue enough. If y'all are considering Haiku, stop looking and book it. You will be in the best hands! I promise.

The staff was really not great and even caused us some confusion and problems on our wedding day. There was miscommunication for our decorations, specialty drinks which we chose, and timeline. We were told that we could drop our decorations off earlier in the morning on our day but were then met with resistance when we came by. We were told that items could not arrive until the afternoon and could only be outside. We chose two specialty drinks which we wanted to have different names. Neither one was served. Instead, they served two random cocktails and didn't even use the names and sign we had given them. The timeline was also then mixed up where we were told we had until 10pm. Then at 9pm they started rushing all of our guests out of the venue and telling everyone they needed to leave. Party guests were confused and upset as we all thought we still had a half hour before the grand exit. Overall, fairly disappointed in how the venue served us day of. We were working with two different people, so that may be why there was confusion. But it seriously impacted our wedding day.

They still allowed them to use the space the following year being this year so we celebrated his mom's 60th. I'm so happy we used the space in December because the Christmas decor was BEAUTIFUL. The photos don't even do it justice! Food was also phenomenal. We got options of steak or salmon and I chose salmon. It was perfectly flavored and the scallops on the side were so cheesy, flaky, soft, and delicious. I also tried the steak and it had gravy on top so it reminded me more of deer meat and I wasn't blown away by it, however it was good. The dessert was chocolate molten lava cake with strawberry on the side and just trust me when I say it was the best dessert of my life. It was so rich so there was no way I could have finished it without feeling sick so I only ate half. My favorite part about the cake is that the top was hard and crusted and the second you go to take a bite, you find the soft center with the chocolate lava that spills out. How I imagine the sweets in heaven lol. The service was incredible and so were the drinks. I ordered a moscow mule and it was good. I also got a mojito and I'm so used to places telling me they are out of mint so I was surprised when I ordered it and they had all the ingredients. It was super well made and tasted great. Such a nice place for a birthday celebration and I bet the weddings here are nothing short of perfection. The location, view, staff, food, etc. is all incredible. I hope I have a reason to come back here one day!
