We met first with Rob Ellis who reviewed the process and begin completing the paper work. Yes, we both were pretty surprised at the inital cost, however swallowed the cost a bit better when we learned that the government provided a Solar Energy incentive of 30% this year. Alison was the office manager who worked with us through email keeping us updated with everything we needed to do to maintain our installation date. We were given a call a month earlier than our original install date and asked if they could do the installation earlier and we were elated. We wanted to take advantage of those bright September sun. The installation took a bit more than the two day estimate do to the late arrival of the actual solar panels. Sundog Solar misrepresented the capabilities of the Daikin heat pump system they sold and installed…read morefor us. We were promised a system capable of serving as our primary heating source in Maine winters, with the flexibility to add a third indoor unit later. Instead, we got a 24k BTU system that maxes out with two heads, struggles in the cold, and was falsely advertised as higher-capacity in their own proposal. When we raised concerns, they claimed it was a "typo" and refused to take accountability. Complaints have been filed with the AG, BBB, FTC, and Daikin. I strongly recommend others look elsewhere if they expect honesty, technical competence, or follow-through. It will cost an additional $6000 to swap the unit they installed for one matching the original proposal.

Noticed the system was down when we got home the first of Septemberand called Sundog. They checked it out on line and said the inverter was bad and would order a new one but it would take a month.When they came in mid October to install it the new one was defective also. They then did me the favor of taking one of thier shelve and installed it. It has been working well until a week and ahalf ago. I have been calling since then to get it repaired they take down my name and number and tell me they will look into it and call right back. They ghost me . Now I think I will have to go to Searsport to be face to face to get my system repaired.
