For tax year 2025, all documents were submitted and a written agreement was signed for this firm in February to complete my taxes. Tax day passed and there was zero communication on the status of my taxes. Calls, texts and emails were ignored or pushed aside before this firm stopped responding altogether. I had to contact the IRS to confirm that this firm failed to file my taxes. To this day no apology or explanation has been given. Do not trust this business to handle your taxes.

A few years…read moreago, Mark fabricated numbers on my rental account that triggered an IRS audit, when I confronted him, he admitted it was his mistake but offered to represent me during the audit for $$$$ instead of owning his error, he charged me money to fix it and after that he requested another payment because he considered the first payment as an initial payment, which he didn't mention that prior in handling the case. I was grieving at that time and didn't have the energy to fight with him. After that year, I took my business elsewhere because he cannot be trusted.

Since we are poking around with different side business ideas, we really needed somebody who can provide not only tax and book services but also advice on getting a business started and what the tax implications are. We have found Mark to be very helpful getting things figured out and in providing advice, even fixing some mistakes we made opening LLCs along the way that could have cost us thousands in penalties. He really saved us big time! We are very grateful for his services and recommend him to everyone who is looking for tax advice. Avoid these folks at ALL COSTS! Tax prep for deceased…read morerelative turned into a several-month long battle, with the IRS returning the paperwork to us, stating there were multiple issues, errors, and ommisions. The preparer stated she had never done a return for the Dearly Departed, so she MAY have to look up some things. We paid a bill of $274.00 for these services. After receiving the return back, we called JH to have someone who DID KNOW how to do this meet us the following day, in order to get this corrected, and close out the deceased affairs. The preparer stated she would "Call the Boss" and call us back. Three & 1/2 days later- no call back. Already nervous at the sheer number of IRS mark-ups, I called a REAL Tax Preparer, and was informed what SHOULD have been done the first time. We completed the numerous missed and incorrect steps, and sent it back ourselves. I then filed a complaint with JH Corporate. After sending a copy of the IRS mark-ups, the Franchise Owner's rep called me back, and stated they did nothing wrong, that every deceased filer's return gets sent back for the missing forms. (Not even close to being true) So after paying for what was supposed to be professional Prep, we ended up doing it ourselves, paying a REAL Tax Preparer to navagate thru the errors and incompetence, and being told everything was OUR fault. I asked why no one ever called us back, in order to get this mess fixed in the first place? The smug reply was: "WEll, I guess I'll have to talk to her about that" If you value your time, sanity, and your hard-earned money, DO NOT go near these folks. If there's any issues, it will be YOUR FAULT! (Even when its not)

The worst part was when I finally addressed the concerns, it was met with defensiveness, unprofessionalism, and a tone of" I was at fault." Never again! Update: i have received three letters regarding errors or misunderstandings in our taxes. It is now august and we continue to sort this out. I wish we could give negative stars!!!! Even the response from the owner continues to outline unprofessionalism and a lack of accountability. How does one argue about letters from the IRS regarding errors in the filing of the tax preparation and continue to point fingers at the client? Always taking it personal and ignoring any business acumen.
