Top Dog Walk

I found Top Dog Walk on Yelp about a year ago, after my dog's stays at a kennel left her stressed…read moreout, with an unhappy belly. I wanted to find a dog-walking service that would give me peace of mind and -- more importantly -- take good care of my pup. Top Dog Walk has lived up to that and more! Now, when I get home from being out of town, Gracie is happy and well-rested. She gets to sleep in her own house and gets to go on nice long walks with the Top Dog Walk crew. They leave a report card so I know her behavior/potty trips when I get home. (And the occasional photo on @topdogwalk's Instagram makes my day!) I'm an over-planner so I often book months in advance but Dana is patient with my texts a few days before my departure, re-confirming the dog walkers' schedule. I really appreciate that peace of mind. Bottom line: I'm so thankful I found Top Dog Walk! No longer do I worry about Gracie's health and happiness when we go out of town.

Thru it all (and our crazy two career chaos) they rolled with the punches and took care of the fur-babies. We've been gone two years now, but we still keep in touch with the TDW crew. Absolutely recommend TDW to care for your loved ones like their own.

Brigitt, Skylar, Shelbie, Amanda, and Sarah have made my transition from a non-dog owning professional woman to a dog-loving professional such a wonderful experience. We left them in charge of our pets for 8 days. They came out and spent about an hour with me…read moregoing over everything before we left, and I sent detailed written instructions to them days before the trip, asking for questions. I left printed instructions on the counter as well. We have 8 indoor cats and 3 large long haired dogs. 2 of the cats are on daily medicine. There were a total of 3 visits a day, totaling 2 hours each day. We paid up front for the visits, as is their policy. We also had a friend stopping in to play with the dogs during this time, for extra attention and exercise. There are 3 major and 2 minor issues that we experienced. 1) They did not clean up the yard when the dogs pooped in it, even after it was brought to their attention. 2) They did not alert me to the fact that my friend was leaving the house unlocked when she visited, until day 7 of an 8 day contract. 3) One of my cats did not get medicated daily. In addition to the one time the sitter said she was unable to catch her, I found a pill on the counter, and one on the floor in another room when I got home. 4) They did not bring the mail in. When I asked about it, they said they couldn't see how to open the box. They never asked where the key was and forgot that I'd pointed it out on the front door. 5) The house was filthy when we got home. Mud, dirt, and pet hair everywhere, dried urine on the floor in many places. I showed them where the cleaning supplies were as well as writing that in the instructions. I wasn't expecting a maid service, but nor was I expecting a huge mess that had me breaking out the vacuum and mop at 1:30 am when I got home. This business is in the process of changing hands. I found that out when I reached out to the owner after I'd calmed down a little. The person taking it over is one of the sitters who was in our house. So I told her what my issues were. I did not feel that she took responsibility for them as a business owner should. She said she wouldn't send the other girl next time. I told her I didn't think there was going to be a next time. There were other things, as well, like the alarm getting set off the first day because my instructions weren't followed, the dog's water fountain gave one of the sitters a ton of problems, although there was nothing wrong with it that we could see and I had showed them how to manage it. I think they sent someone who was not qualified and didn't have a lot of common sense.

WONDERFUL dog walking and pet sitting team! We have been so fortunate to have found Cindy and her…read morereliable, caring team of dog walkers. They are 100% dependable and treat our home and pets like their own. We have had three medium to large dogs and one cat for much of the last 2.5 years that we have used them. We rescued our young pit mix just before we moved to this area. She had NO training and was very reactive, with a strong prey drive when we got her, but Cindy and her team were able to manage her during her training. We also adopted our Doberman puppy just after moving here as well, and they were able to accommodate twice daily walks for us initially during her housebreaking, and have been able to handle this rambunctious girl as well. Our senior cat, who has since passed, was a timid girl; but based on the photos Cindy posted, her midday friends quickly gained her trust and affection. We have used them the entire time we have lived in VB, mainly for 3-4 midday dogs walks per week. They have offered the peace of mind and dependability we need, whether we are at work or out of town. We often have last minute schedule changes or unusual requests and they have always been able to accommodate us. In addition, their prices are very affordable, and their communications are always prompt. In regards the negative comments from the previous client- Cindy may be soft spoken and straight forward, but she has never been rude; she is a kind hearted, gentle person who always has her clients and pets needs in mind. Also, as far as their communications and alerts about anything seemingly off about pets- as a pet owner I **greatly** appreciate when our walkers alert us to any potential medical concerns, along with any behavioral issues that pop up. I can tell by the notes they leave in the pet journal that they know each of our pet's normal behaviors and their individual funny quirks. Also, we have never had any concerns about the walkers sticking to the prearranged time window.
