I wish I could give a 0 star rating because they are just that horrible. Tiffiny Crossley and her team have made the escrow process a complete nightmare. The home search process during COVID was already stressful enough as is and they made it so much worse with mistakes along each step of the way. Forgive my long review but that is how many errors they made.
Once we went into contract, we needed to wire our deposit money within a day. Our agent advised us to call the escrow officer Tiffiny to confirm wire information because wire fraud is real (their emails even have this as a warning). We emailed and tried calling Tiffiny and her assistant Tammy Garcia many times. We received no response and the deposit was due that day. Their receptionists advised that we can drop off a cashiers check to the Alameda office. We rushed to the bank and then drove 20 minutes to Alameda to find that their office was closed due to COVID. We frantically drove through traffic to Tiffiny's Pleasanton office and arrived 10 minutes before they closed. Once we arrived, Tammy was called out to greet us. Why was she not answering our calls to confirm wire information when she was sitting in the office? These ladies NEVER answer their phone.
Secondly, the notary process and recording process was absolutely ridiculous. It was the evening before signing and Tiffiny still had not scheduled with the notary. We had to inquire in order for them to provide the notary's information to schedule. The notary came and missed a few pages that needed our initials... she came back a few hours later and we initialed.. then we get a call from Tiffiny informing us that the notary forgot to stamp the newly initiated copy and that the city rejected our documents. We would be recording the following day. THEN a week later my agent notices that there is a typo on the deed that the seller signed. The title company made a typo and misspelled our trust name "Lliving Trust" instead of "Living Trust". This document was only seen and signed by the sellers. My husband and I reviewed everything maliciously and we had a real estate attorney review as well. We even asked Tiffiny to send us soft copies to review prior to the notary appointment to prevent incidents like this. She did not send us anything or respond to our request. We tried to take up the misspelling in the deed with Tiffiny who said it was not a big deal and so we asked our estate AND real estate attorney who advised it should be corrected. They sent out a different notary and we had to re-record to fix the misspelling.
Thirdly, they messed up on the address for one of the commission checks to our agent and said they would be sending out another. They did not state that BOTH checks were mailed and that they put a stop to the first. The first check made it to the agent somehow despite the incorrect address and it bounced when she tried to cash it.
Fourth, the mistakes keep coming after one month of living in our new home. In our closing costs, we prepaid two months of HOA dues to the association per our loan officer and closing statement. Per the HOA, they did not mail out a check or settlement documents to the home owners association. I called both Tiffiny and Tammy and was (unsurprisingly) sent to voicemail.
The sellers of the home specifically requested this team and I'm not sure if they are friends with them or what because they are awful at their jobs. I am not new to the home purchase process and had I known they were so awful, I would've countered the sellers with the Chicago Title. STAY AWAY from Tiffiny, her team, and Fidelity National Title at ALL COSTS! read more
