We noticed that both neighbors on each side seemed to be trespassing on our property. Sekerez came out on relatively short notice, did a very detailed survey or our property, set down stakes, all for a reasonable price, actually much less than other surveyors in the area. Good news! We were right. Our property is actually about 10 feet wider than previously thought. We did this must survey because we learned in the law, that if you accept a boundary, even a flawed one, over a period of time, the law regards your acceptance as the actual boundary. That is, unless you prefer a HOA that it totally useless, and live next to rude neighbors, and people who have nothing else better to do than to report residents for petty rule violations. (However they will pick and choose what they want to complain about!) The construction is shoddy, wood rotting, replacing water heaters and appliances, garage doors that are rusting, after only 8 years of being built! I don't want to know what these will look like in 20-30 years!!! And the HOA board will hire companies that do sub par work, and then when the work has to be re-done they want YOU to pay for work that is THEIR responsibility! Their "voting" procedure is a joke, they pretty much tell you that fee assessments passed without providing proof. The property manager is useless, and deflects everything to the board and does absolutely nothing. The budget that they provide has questionable calculations, which makes you wonder where exactly your dues are going. My suggestion...stay in an apartment (you seriously have more freedom there!), and buy a home without an HOA!
