Megan has very nearly ruined our respect for all realtors. They are unaccountable shucksters only…read moreinterested in making a sale at the highest price to line their own pockets. We met with Megan online and she seemed nice, capable, and took note of our needs. Then proceeded to send us houses that were in no way in the area we had requested. So we had to search on our own and compile a list of suitable potential homes. When we had time to visit Portland, she made herself available, but then talked us out of a house we had both agreed we liked and we could have offered a lower price for. Since she shook our confidence, we toured a second day. At an open house without Megan, the home was fine and the noises weren't an issue. That also could have been because the host realtor was hovering and chatting to cover up the issues. After we looked at the house, Megan didn't bother to provide any context about the neighborhood and the fact that the house is on a busy street. Having not lived in Portland before this was essential information she should have shared. Instead, she pushed us to offer over asking (again to make more money for herself and the sellers' realtor). She proceeded to recommend an inspector who was extremely incompetent or at worst in Megan's pocket to get the sale through. He mislabeled important facts about the house (2018 was the temperature and the AC was older than the house). Megan lied in her response to a review on a different site. She claims that she told us the street was busy, but there is no record of this anywhere and this was not done in person or over the phone. Instead, she told us that a stretch of Burnside was busy and this road is much much worse. So if you want to pay more than you should, get talked out of a house for reasons that can be easily fixed, and want the thrill of wondering if your realtor is in it for herself or actually there to be an objective third-party guide, pick Megan. Otherwise, you'd likely be better off representing yourself.

He gave my all types of buyer information and made sure I was aware of everything.  We looked at a few houses before I made my decision on one, and once we submitted an offer and got it accepted, I got really busy at work and wasn't always available. He would still send me weekly updates and keep me informed of where I was at in the process. Everything went great and we closed right on time. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Upon reading reviews online and spending months and months researching realtors, we came across Shelly Casteel's profile on the Oregon realty website. Since the first day that we talked to her, she made us feel like we were her only client even knowing we were probably one of many. I worked with Lori to buy my first house when I moved to Portland in 2008. I lived in another state, had little familiarity with the city, and had only a couple of weekends to travel to Portland to tour homes and neighborhoods. Lori blocked out entire days to make sure I saw as many houses in as many neighborhoods as I needed. The process was as stress-free as it gets, and resulted in a lovely house in an amazing neighborhood that I was proud to call home for several years. When the time came to sell that house and upgrade, my husband and I never considered any other realtors. Lori efficiently managed the sale of my previous home, while Kevin patiently helped us explore the nooks and crannies of homes throughout Portland to find just the right fit. Each new face we meet through Lane Realty Works feels more like a friend and confidant than a realtor. I think that's pretty nifty. Folks say home buying and selling are stressful processes, but not in my experience. Lane Realty Works makes it criminally easy.
