I've been coming to Fiddlesticks before "Too" at it's original location in Kaka'ako where you're transported to a world of yarn and floss galore! Floor to ceiling it's filled with tapestries, kits and inspiration of every occasion you're feeling to express. I've always come here for their books the very almost impossible to find stitchery books for anything and everything including Hawaiian themes, you can also find anything to complete your projects with yarns and floss and I've also pivoted my thoughts when I see other inspiring items that they always have and add to my projects lol! I had the delight to find this perfect stitcher shop! I embroider and cross stitch and they had absolutely everything i dreamed of. Fiddlesticks Too is the most fantastic needlepoint/cross stitch/ knitting store !!!! They have the most beautiful and interesting canvases , better than any other store around.; Honolulu or any other city!! The ladies in the store are knowledgeable and go out of their way to be helpful and make you feel at home. You can find materials to suit every taste and they have super classes to help the beginner. I think I found my new arts and crafts store when it comes to all things cross stitching. Located across Lex Brodies, on Coral Street off of Queen Street, I would never have known this store was here, or even existed, if I didn't have to take my car into Lex Brodies. (I am recent convert to Lex Brodie for tires). The store is filled to the brim with patterns, thread, bags, and all things knick-knacks that you need to get your stitching on. Not to mention the employee (owner? only employee?) is extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back once I am done with the hoarding stitching pattern and stuff I picked up today. read more

Delightful community-oriented needlework store. If I were local, I'd be hanging out with the gang in the classroom for socializing every Tuesday. (I was encouraged to join in today, even though all I had was my drop spindle. However, I also had my husband in tow, and had to decline.) Love this place for picking out threads and canvas for my art projects. Always very helpful and I have just joined their 'Stitch-in' session on Tuesday afternoons. A place to come for inspiration, help, advice and great comradeship with fellow needlework artisans. Beginner or Expert, they have something for every level and type of needle craft. A cute little kama'aina/locally-owned business for people who do cross-stitch, needlepoint, and/or want to learn how to do either! They offer weekly classes and sell the needles and equipment to do both. According to their Facebook page, the original owner of Fiddlesticks decided to retire, so a group of them took over the shop and opened Fiddlesticks Too (2). The store has its own parking lot with about 6-8 stalls in front. They sell gift certificates if you have a friend who has a love of cross-stitching or needlepoint. A friend attended one of their cross-stitch classes and it was $5 "make and take" class. She got to make some kind of small ornamental gift and take it home with her. I love Fiddlesticks! As an avid cross stitcher, I was bemoaning the fact that the only craft store that i could find for a year was Ben Franklin, so imagine my excitement when I found Fiddlesticks. I went with a friend and was so excited when I discovered that they have everything a cross stitcher could want. DMC and Anchor thread, along with a large selection of patterns and accessories. I went again with my mother-in-law who is a needlepointer was also really impressed with their needlepoint selection, which is complete with Hawaiian influenced canvases. It's a pretty small store, but has a really friendly atmosphere. The people who work there really know what they're talking about and are incredibly helpful and encouraging about your projects. read more

Cute little craft store in Kakaako...not so cute lady who works there. I met my friend in front of the store, and we were catching up in the parking lot. Keep in mind, the lot was EMPTY!! So there we were, talking for a few minutes when our comes this lady, and tells us we have to find somewhere else to park!! Thank you very much, but you just lost all business from this avid crafter! I was intending to walk in and pick up a few things, but never again. I usually try to patronize small businesses, as my family owns a few establishments. Really enjoyed my visit here during my vacation. The store is tiny, but filled to the brim with an excellent array of needlework kits and supplies, many unique Hawaaian-inspired designs and many standard fare. I found specialty dyed ribbons, velvet threads and other cool stuff I've never seen on the mainland. The proprietor is very sweet and is great to chat with (gives great driving instructions, too!). I recommend Fiddlesticks to keep your fingers busy as you relax on O'ahu. read more

Fiddlesticks too was a great source of Hawaii-themed cross stitch patterns for me years ago (via the phone) so when I was actually visiting Oahu..I couldn't resist visiting the store in person. It's a small store, in an industrial area, but jam packed with loads of cross stitch and needlepoint patterns, many of which are very unusual and Hawaii- and Asian-themed. I LOVE FIDDLESTICKS! I am a beginner when it comes to sewing and found them to be so HELPFUL! I came in with a slew of questions and a "deer-caught-in-head-lights" look. The ladies there answered all my questions, I signed up for a class, and they told me to come back any time if I had questions, problems, etc. My mom kept telling me that I needed to go to a specialty store and Ben Franklin wasn't going to cut it. I was on my way to the car shop just across the street from Fiddlesticks. It was just a few minutes after 9am this morning and I had to pull over to take a quick phone call and found a space in front of this cute little craft store. It was perfect because I had been looking for a local craft store specializing in cross-stitch and needlework. I noticed that the store had just opened and the parking lot was empty. I was thinking lucky me! I was finishing my call in the car and out of the store comes this lady - I think the manager. She asks me what I am doing in a very rude tone of voice. I told her that I was finishing a call and that I was going to be right in. She tells me that I have to fix my car because I am taking up too many spaces - keep in mind that it is just a few minutes after 9 - the lot is empty and the only fixing I could do was pull my car in the slot another foot or so or leave. She gave me the stink eye and turned around and went back into the store. I don't know what is wrong with this lady - but she isn't nice. It's unfortunate that this store has an ambassador like this. She should take note that in many of the other reviews here on yelp that they wouldn't have known that she existed if it weren't for the car shop across the street. She should be happy that I noticed her store and wanted to patronize - but instead I am here writing this review and will never ever shop here. read more

I love Fiddlesticks too! I visited in 2008 just before embarking on a cruise. The wonderful ladies there were so kind a helpful. They knew I was coming, and presented me with a beautiful lei, which I wore almost the entire cruise. I loaded up on Hawaiian cross-stitch projects, and they actually drove me back to the ship when I was through shopping! What an amazing spirit of Aloha! read more
