After my stroll through the local marketplace in uptown Gruene, TX, I sat down nearby to rest because it was getting warm. Shortly afterwards, I turned to my right and saw the Fickle Pickles shop. I'm not a big fan of pickles, but I do enjoy a good crunchy pickle (when available) with my sandwiches. I was looking for specialty food items for my dear friend whose birthday was coming up. So I walked on over and entered this shop. What a cute and lovely pickle shop! The lady at this pickle shop was very friendly and pleasant. They offer free samples on their original flavor pickles. They also have a spicy version of the pickles (no samples for this one). OMG... amazingly delicious and tasty pickles! The best pickle I've ever eaten! It has a nice crunch to it, some sweetness, and some kick to it. I loved it! I bought 2 medium jars... one for my friend and one for me... I should have went with the bigger jars LOL. If you love pickles, get them from here even if you have to order them online. You won't regret it. I know I will order from them in the near future because I already finished my jar... maybe as a Christmas gift to myself LOL. Happy Fickling of a Pickle! By the way, this pickle shop is connected to a few other shops within the same building. Gruene Coffee Haus is next door... so I walked over there to indulge on some ice cold frappe!

They looked full of pickles on the shelf but they are not tightly packed at all. I'm left with mostly juice.

Wasn't worth the price. The jar is mostly JUICE! $25 for a jar pf pickles! I could get similar results and better quality crunch in an HEB sweet pickle. $50 for TWO 32 ounce jars of pickles... Charge what you want, it's a free country but this is a laughable price for pickles... especially when they skimp out on the actual amount of pickles in the jar. They don't even pack the jars. It's a disappointment

Absolutely delicious. A pickle connoisseur's dream. There is a trailer in South Austin. I'm blown away.

I purchased the pecan chocolate, which the owner Stephanie said was the most popular and she had just gotten a fresh batch delivered. In addition, I purchased a coconut sponge candy and some little food toothpicks (75% off from their Christmas sale). The candies were exceptional...superior quality. The candies were on the pricier side, but well worth the price. I must say small town businesses in Texas are usually bursting with friendly staff. Texans are known for having Southern hospitality. That was not the case at Gourmage. Stephanie was aloof and mostly answered my questions with one word responses. I did not feel welcomed. There was only one other couple at Gourmage at the time. While the candies were delicious, I will likely not return. Customer service is extremely important to me.

It was of reasonable quality and seemed to be real food (of course, one can never know about the sauces, though they tasted ok). What I wanted of course, is someone who either grew up in that culture or learned from someone who did and has been cooking it for several years. I can't say that's not the case here. Maybe I was just put off a bit by the fast food feel of the place. Also, that the chicken, though it tasted decent for fast food, was a little dry and was cut in a kind of weird (standard) shape. I ordered the Greek plate with Greek salad and red skinned potatoes. My wife ordered the spicy Greek plate with Greek salad and basmati rice. Oh, one other comment, one of the pepper I bit into (I think they call it a pepperoncini) was quite spicy--a lot more than I expected. Don't get me wrong, I think we got decent nourishment with decent but not outstanding flavor at a reasonable (for today) price. But, I can't give it five stars.
