They dunked it in water and found an issue with the inner rim of the wheel--some type of corrosion or wear. Since Discount Tire only sells rims, and they don't repair or offer to do so, I asked around at different shops about rim repairs. Most of them indicated that they worked with a mysterious third party wheel repair specialist in Dallas. It turns out that third party is Wheel Technologies. There happened to be a location in Austin; I first tried going there. It was a satellite office and the expectation was to bring in the wheel itself, but mine was still attached to my car. So I made the trek to Dallas to get the wheel fixed up. Arriving, you'll notice the place is located in a fairly industrial area--plenty of large rigs waiting around in the surrounding area for deliveries. There is some parking round the building, which appears to be renovated. Entering, I made my way to their main office area over wooden floors that creek when you step on them. There were around 6 large desks with folks working, and CCTV monitors showing the work area. I talked with someone who gave me a ticket and some paper work. They went over the quote and stipulated that they can only repair a wheel once, then they got to work. The total was extremely reasonable compared to obtaining a replacement rim. While there, I decided to do work in the conference room area near the entrance. It was quiet and had cushy office chairs. There was a distinct lack of Wi-Fi. Upon completion, I was able to checkout and could see where they made the repair. It's been more than a year and the repair seems to have held up quite well. Conclusion: If you have issues with rims, Wheel Technologies certainly has the expertise and equipment for repair. They clearly stipulate what they can and cannot repair, and they are straight forward in terms of cost. Many auto shops send repair work to them.

We got this recliner from my in-laws some years ago. It's a really well built Lane recliner. But…read moreit's old and has seen better days. We've been talking for a few years about getting it restored. Upholsterers say, "You'd be better off just buying a new one" but we couldn't find one we liked. Arnold, his Dad, and their upholsterers REBUILT our chair and recovered it, mostly in leather. The patterned fabric covers the back too. And they repaired the mechanicals and re-finished the legs. We had agreed that if one hide wasn't enough to cover everything that we would use that fabric for the back and the WINGS on the sides. When they came back and said that still wasn't going to be enough and recommended the sides under the arms, I balked at first. I said the fabric was supposed to be an ACCENT if we HAD to. I felt like this was too much. 1/2 the chair was now fabric. But it was going to add ~$300 for a 2nd hide and my wife thought it would be OK so I relented. I'm glad I did. I don't think this is too much.   It IS as comfy as we had hoped. The mechanism is like silk. It feels good. It SMELLS good. Probably good for another 30 years!

I had worn blue jeans for all of that time watching TV. The one area had turned blue and the leather was worn out. As a stop gap measure I hired Armando prior to guests arriving to improve that area, I was embarrassed by the shoddy look. Armando and his son gave me a quote to not only repair the area but replace every piece of foam in the couch and repair broken zippers for the cushions. After a full day of work by Armando and his son I was amazed that my huge sectional couch looked like it did the day that I had purchased it. He saved me a fortune and I still have the couch that our family loves without having to find something that is similar. Last week a large fossil fell off my wall and damaged the couch. Obviously , I was not happy about losing the fossil or damaging my loved couch. Armando and his son instantly came over and rescued the couch and gave me a referral to rehabilitate my oak floor.
