Update To Prior Review I was able to speak with Larry at Precision Leather Restoration. I am happy to report that he was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Larry was able to use photos that I provided to determine the work that needs to be done to my sofa damaged in a move.. Although it will be an upholsterer, that I will actually need to contact, he was able to provide me with referrals. I can honestly say that given our conversation, I am sad that he will not be actually be the one doing work for me. I would encourage anyone thinking of using Precision Leather to do so. read more

The work Larry did on my couch was phenomenal. I was going to replace my couch as my dogs scratched up the seats pretty bad, but thought I'd take a shot with leather repair as it would be a lot cheaper than a whole new couch. Color began to come off almost immediately. Vendor attributed it to pet damage. Grudgingly agreed to redo once, and did. Made it clear that the redo was a one time offer. But coloring again began to come off almost immediately. Before, cushions were merely faded. But now even worse looking with big blotchy patches. Yes, we do have dogs and kids. The quality of work and customer service received from Larry of Precision Leather Restoration was second to none. He does amazing work. I thought I was a perfectionist ... but Larry out does me! I called Precision Leather, which was one of several firms I found via an Internet search, after several other local firms who were highly rated didn't seem interested in the project. My wife had several very nice pieces of leather furniture at least 20 years old. They consisted of two couches, two chairs, a love seat and two ottomans. Dogs she once had chewed the undersides of several of the cushions and the top underside of couches or chairs where the cushions sit. In several places the leather looked aged and needed to be restored. One of the cushions needed to have a section cut out and a new piece sewn in and replaced. All the cushions required new foam and reshaping because after 20 plus years of use they had lost their shape. All the leather needed to be restored, moisturized, polished, etc. I contacted Leather Restorations and two hours later Larry arrived at our home and inspected the furniture. "Not a problem," said Larry. "This is excellent, top grain, black leather from Italy." He immediately called an associate, who also arrived the same day and took all the cushions (bottoms and backs!) to professionally re-foam, re-stuff, and re-shape. To complicate things, my wife and I are moving into a new home. "Not a problem," said Larry. He immediately called other associates and arranged to pick up all the furniture, take it to his shop to do all the leather restoration work, and then deliver the finished pieces to our new home two weeks later. Larry was there every step of the way, kept me informed regularly via text messages on progress, and educated us on the history of leather. When my wife told him where she bought the furniture 20 plus years ago, he was able to even share the history of where it was manufactured! There is no doubt he "IS" the Dallas Expert when it comes to leather. Not only does each piece of our leather furniture look brand new after Larry performed his magic, the entire cost of the project was less than the cost to purchase one top quality leather chair. I purchased my light colored leather couch over 17 years ago. Needless to say, more than a few of the pillows were beyond worn out. This guy was a real asshole. My wife made an appointment with him to come give us a quote. He showed up at the appointment time 11:30 but left within three minutes because "no one answered the door" I had just stepped outside for a minute and was on the side of my house trouble shooting a sprinkler issue. My garage door was wide open and I was 10 feet away from the door! Before my wife can even take a second to call me to notify me he's there the guy leaves. I called him to apologize for the "confusion" and to see if he would come back or reschedule. He was very short, rude, and said he wouldn't come back or reschedule. (I guess I'm banned for life, lol) Based on this experience alone I wouldn't suggest using this guy if you want great customer service. My brief conversation with him was like talking with a 3 year old. I have a lot of respect for owner operated small businesses but when the owner lacks good customer service etiquette or fundamental problem solving skills you can be left in a real bad situation. I can't imagine how he would handle any type of service related issue, most likely with a take it or leave it attitude. Stay away from this guy I'm sure there are other companies out there that offer the same quality product with a better customer service experience. read more

I have used ColorGlo on a couple of occasions for leather repair. They did awesome work on both my leather car interior and my leather couch and chair. I had a pretty big nick in my custom leather couch. For a reasonable price, they had it looking so good afterwards that I couldn't even find/tell where the original damage was. In fact, I am currently scheduling them to redye a piece of furniture for me as well. I saw some work samples of their redying, and it looked top notch. Big time recommendation for these guys! Very professional, great work, very reasonable prices. Restoring your current stuff is way cheaper and easier than buying new, that's for sure. read more

Larry worked with me thru the whole process of getting one cushion recovered and the rest of the sofa reconditioned with his process. It looks beautiful. I'm proud of my "old Betsy" again. I was referred to PLR from a friend who spoke highly of them. Our white leather sectional (made by Natuzzi) needed some TLC from 7 years of wear, in part from a large dog who claimed a few of the cushions for herself. Larry with PLR came out and gave us a reasonable quote for the work, which included cleaning the surface, dying, texturing, and conditioning. The before and after is truly remarkable! Words simply cannot describe the level of quality and detail put forth by this company. We expected a 'band-aid' approach, as we were certain some of the damage and wear was simply irreparable and were prepared to live with it.
