ARS Flood & Fire Cleanup - ARS Flood & Fire Cleanup Corporate Office (North Logan, UT)

ARS Flood & Fire Cleanup

ARS is a corporation based out of Logan Utah. They totaled my home and turned a small fire with…read moreminimal damage into a total disaster by leaving my home without a roof for months and uncovered in the winter. DO NOT do business with this company! In addition they fraudulently charged for many line items that they DID NOT DO!

We've had ARS out on three occasions. Twice in our home, which insurance covered, and once in a…read morerental. In every occasion they were really quick to respond and get out, and are fantastic at preventing more damage from being done and the clean-up phase. Their staff we encountered have always been very professional and courteous and helpful. They are really used to dealing with insurance companies, and they sub out the repair work (maybe where other reviews come in). I did notice that if you are letting them liaise with the insurance company, the price is a little ambiguous... and pricy. However, all you are paying in that case is your deductible, so let them do what they are good at and going to do. The contracted work in our case was pretty simple, and the sub-contractors were good (however, a lot slower to get out). However, in our rental we learned after the fact that our "flood insurance" didn't cover flooding (we no longer use that insurance company). The second I told ARS staff that I was paying for everything out of pocket, they were extremely helpful in being creative and efficient on costs. They allowed me to do some of the work I could on my own to keep costs down, and they did all the heavy lift on the clean up. I really appreciated how accomodating they were to help me save some money. Moreover, when it came time to billing, they called and offered to discount the price even further, which was hugely appreciated. I am speculating here based on the other reviews (not experience), but I suspect you can have a really good experience with ARS if you're insurance is covering everything, and they use good subs. However, Logan is a really hard place to get subs and contractors to show up period... so understand what of this is ARS, and what is the downside of the Logan construction sector. They do try and offer a "one-stop, they take care of it all" service. For some jobs, this may not be the best way to go. If you are used to working with contractors, and don't mind doing some of the leg work in organizing some of the replacement/repair, I suspect ARS would work with you. If you just need emergency clean up, demo and removal, I don't think you could ask for anything more. ARS is not the type of business you want to have to hire again (they're in the emergency business). But, I suspect I will be in that situation again, and I will call them again. I would definitely recommend them.

We had our carpets and couches cleaned. We were told the carpets would be dry in 2-4 hours but…read moreinstead they were still drying 24 hours later. Our couches are from Ashley Furniture and worth well over $2,000 (which we verified with their store in Layton). The technician's machine broke down in the middle of cleaning the couches, so the couches were left soaking wet with water for days. Later I looked at the couch tags and saw a cleaning code labeled 'S' and researched online. They are to be dry cleaned and can't be cleaned with water, nor can they be saturated. The couches were ripping at the seams and had loose threading all over the place. They are completely ruined, which the owner acknowledged after he came back out and tried to fix the problem. The owner insulted our intelligence and didn't make things right. DO NOT use this company! Read the reviews for other companies on this site and go with a highly-rated company if you want it done right w/o the headache we've suffered.

So we decided to have them clean our carpets in Ogden area. 3 times now and every time been a great job. Next time we are going to add some tile cleaning to see how they do. I am located in Arlington, VA--I used Classic Chem-Dry III. I am posting on the parent site because…read morethe service was not handled appropriately by either party. The carpet cleaner and I communicated he would arrive at 8am on June 22, 2017. I am a high school teacher; this allowed for me to get to work on time because I would be his first client of the day. He texted me the morning of, saying he would arrive at 9am instead. He did not arrive until 9:30am. I had to delay going to work by a considerable amount. Immediately, he pressured me to go with a deal $300 more than he originally quoted me for the previous day. I told him no, that I wanted a normal carpet cleaning. He only cleaned for 30 minutes--I paid $250 for this. He picked up furniture and put them on my couch so he could clean the rugs, and never put the furniture back. Afterward, again, he kept pressuring me to go with a higher service, which I did not want. But because I was a single woman alone in my apartment with him, I was uncomfortable and flustered, and did not inspect too closely until after he left. Upon closer inspection, I noticed there was still soil on the carpets which should have been easily removed with a normal carpet cleaning. I also realized there was a white residue ALL over ALL my furniture from the quick cleaning, including a handmade mirror my late grandfather made. I contacted him and asked if he could return to complete the job. He refused and said he would return only if I paid him more. I merely wanted the job I paid for him to do to be done. He then sent me a slew of offensive, unprofessional texts. He even accused me of faking being Deaf. I AM a Deaf person. He wrote: "I thought you were deaf and needed my help that's why I went the extra mile" What extra mile? Is he referring to having to write down what he was saying? Because that IS what you have to do when you have a Deaf customer--that's not going the extra mile. When I called Chem-Dry customer service to address this issue, they said there was nothing they could do, except to try contacting him. They were unable to provide any sort of resolution, and this is unacceptable. I was harassed via text message and given horrible service. I know Chem-Dry operates as a franchise, but the parent company needs to be responsible for the business as a whole. I will tell people to NEVER get a carpet cleaning from Chem-Dry and will happily recommend other businesses.
