I had to try this place if for no other reason than the name of the salon…read more My stylist was concise, chatty, and friendly. She asked me what I wanted to do with my hair, assessed any damage, etc, and got to work. What I wanted was rather simple- to fix up my hair after growing it out from bangs/fix the layers. She razored rather well, and gave me blended layers. Nothing drastic, but essentially what I was looking for. The only thing close to a complaint that I have is the fact that not much came off my hair- an inch if that- and I was charged the maximum in the $30-45 range listed on the website. It was a little more than I was hoping to pay, but I think it was based on the stylists expertise level. From how fast and precise she got my hair I'd say she's quite seasoned, so I didn't mind the price tag. I just didn't know what to expect as a first timer.

We now live in Indiana and when we come to visit family we make appointments to have Shiela cut our hair. Its nice to have someone who listens to what you want. As a man trying to find someone who can cut and style a man's hair is tough. My wife wife tells her what she wants and that's what she gets. It is as simple as that. The online scheduling is also a plus.

She said I needed layers so she went to town (until I told her enough!) with chopping shears. So dis with all. Then I found out she didn't go to hair school, she was an apprentice! I was not told she had no school or experience!

I asked if I used my debit card when I came in could it all go on that card and she said yes. I paid a total of $244 for services AND my credit card was billed the $103.50. I have been to another salon that charged $25 deposit. When I checked out they told me they were deducting the deposit from my bill. The receptionist said NOTHING to me about my deposit!! I've called and get no answer. For $103.50 you might think you'd get an appointment reminder via text or phone-call. Nothing ..Just aggravation.

The shop was small but not very crowded, which I liked. I made an appointment and didn't wait an obscene amount of time. I'm kind of a nervous natural, and I dont get my hair straightened a lot, but i tried it out since i'm going out of town and I'm glad i came. I'm kind of opposed to Dominican-style blowouts because of all the unnecessary heat, pulling and breakage that it causes, so i was happy that coming here was a more gentle experience. She did a blow dry, flat iron blow out on me but took her time and got my hair really straight, even at the roots. And everything is in english, which you wouldnt think I'd miss since I usually have my phone anyway but....yea. it's nice to actually be able to listen to the tv in there while my hair is being done lol. She used heat protectant and made sure my hair wasn't dry during the flat ironing. My hair is not too stiff with product or from being too kinky still, but flows really nicely. Anyway, my blowout turned out great , and since I didn't see a lot of other reviews from people eith natural hair but not locs, so I figured I would show this place some love and say it in a public forum. Natural hair wearers, it's safe! Lol. I will be going back.
