I want to start off with saying that the energy is awesome here. Super chill, nice guys- however, I recommend only going if you're local. I was there at the beginning of August with a group of girls for a bachelorette. We all wanted to get tattoos to commemorate, and I chose a small moon. Balthazar / Jesus did mine. Im annoyed because it didn't heal well. i'm a strict rule follower, and kept the covering on for about 4 days. Have cleaned it and cared for it properly, yet the inside didn't keep the ink. I talk to another tattoo artist here in Nevada and she said it was probably because the skin swelled and he wasn't able to get it properly. now I'm having to pay more to get it filled. $100 plus tip later + what i have to now pay to get it fixed. I will say! all of the other girls' tattoos healed beautifully. i'm not saying don't go, but don't go if you're help not local I can't get it fixed. read more

I have had four different tattoo's done by their artist Loki, a bloodlined Phoenix on my back, a tribal piece that goes around my shoulders, a lion with wings on my arm, and am currently having a piece done on my leg of two angels. Needless to say I have been very happy with his work, have refered my friends to him who were equally satisfied, and have enjoyed having him work on me. I have three tattoos done by Evan Eykel. A set of runes, a One Piece jolly roger, and a traditional American eagle that I drew myself. He is great about helping you get the placement just right, making suggestions about how to make your idea better. I am super happy with all of the ink that I have from him, all done when he was an apprentice, and he's only getting better. He will run through the aftercare process with you as he wraps up your fresh new tattoo. As he was tattooing me, he checked in periodically, asking how I was doing. I definitely recommend him. My first mention needs to be about my artist John. He's awesome. Made me feel so comfortable that I wasn't a bit self conscious. This is so important because: I had breast cancer, had both breast removed and had reconstruction. It took me along time to find "the right" person to tattoo my areolas on (2years) After interviewing and looking at work locally I was even more confused because I couldn't find anyone that had done this type of work, and did it well. I was even thinking of traveling really far to the guy everyone talks about. Then I met John at Ferry Street ink. He had done it before but not much. He has a long background and like I said, he made me feel comfortable, like I wasn't "just" another tattoo. I was so happy with his work I actually cried. I got a tattoo from Jon about a month or so ago. The tattoo was $300 (including a $50 tip) which was completely over priced considering it didn't even take a full hour. The tattoo itself is horrible!!!! The lines are not straight and I have double lines everywhere!!! I got it on my upper arm and the tatto is not centered at all. It's sideways and just looks so bad. I plan on going to a different shop and having the entire thing covered up. Not pleased at all. read more

Can't say enough good things about the guys at Ferry St. Ink. I went in to have some work done around an existing tribal design I had on my upper arm and John freehanded exactly what I was looking for. John is a super chill guy that will listen to what YOU want and won't start until you're happy with the design. Horrible work. Had to spend hundreds of dollars to get my tattoos lasered off and redone. Very unprofessional. They blamed ME and my AFTER CARE for blowouts, negligence, careless artwork and poor application. Absolutely terrible experience with them. Also, when I got to get my tattoo lasered, the woman before me got her tattoo from here too! DO NOT GO HERE. Waste of money, not to mention the 'bad tatoo' nightmare. read more
