They have portfolios of the artsists' work on the website. Based on Yelp reviews, I chose Andy Reach and he was great. In order to reserve your timeslot, you send a deposit to your artist (I chose to do so via Venmo), for me it was $60. After you receive the tattoo you pay the remaining amount, $40 for me. [Note: $100 is the minimum fee at Redemption, even for a small tattoo like mine. I was happy to pay that knowing I'm working with a great artist at a reputable shop, but you can probably find cheaper for small, single-color tattoos elsewhere.] Don't forget to tip too! Andy did a great job on my tattoo. I had a really specific design (the 3 stars from the corner of the page in the Harry Potter books) and he copied it exactly. He was very honest and upfront with me about what size and location would last well instead of promising something that would never work long term. I left with a slightly bigger tattoo than I'd anticipated, but I feel confident that it won't fade or blur like the smaller size I'd initially planned on. All in, I was probably under the needle for 20 minutes tops. It felt like someone digging their fingernail into your skin. Sure, it hurts, but no biggie. A month and a half later, my tattoo has healed really nicely and looks great. It bled a little bit the first night but other than that healing was fairly quick and easy. I will absolutely come back to Redemption and Andy specifically if/when I decide to get my next tattoo.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I had to wait a little while longer to visit the shop for the first time! After booking the consultation, and meeting my artist, I put down my deposit and waited one painstakingly long week before the official appointment arrived. Of course I was nervous as heck because I had job idea how much the tattoo cost, or how painful it was gonna be, plus doing anywhere during all this madness is a challenge within itself. However, all the safety precautions were being taken, all artists and customers (including myself) had masks and gloves on, and the procedure went great! Jebb, (my artist) did a phenomenal job of making me feel comfortable and calm during the whole thing, and I will definitely be coming back here for my next tattoo! p.s, my art is healing really nicely, and the pain afterwards was little to none!

I'm not a cookie-cutter person, and I don't want a cookie-cutter, pulled-from-a-book design. I wanted a "creation" by someone who might be interested in who I am and could guide me in my creative pursuit. I was directed to Dia by Carl Grace at the Boston Tattoo Convention 2013. Since then, in the last 4 months, Dia's created (2) totally unique works of art on my body. I couldn't be happier with them! The first, a large, abstract watercolor shoulder piece, was a truly creative experience. Neither Dia nor I knew what it would look like until it was done. It gradually evolved as she began to add color in dramatic, broad strokes and in interesting, dripping "moments" running down my arm, back, and chest. Healing was quick and easy only a little scabbing. The second is a hand-sized realistic-looking botanical peach on my hip. My first tattoo, done just before my 20th high school reunion, was a quarter-sized traditional (black-outlined) peach. Dia's larger, brighter cover-up was beautifully executed and is completely healed - only 3 weeks 4 weeks later. I can't WAIT for my next Dia-tattoo! Getting a tattoo is a permanent and personal decision, so it's important to feel heard and confident in your artist. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. I would strongly recommend that others carefully review his work and ensure clear communication before committing. Also, he admitted to me that he has been drunk while doing other clients work in the past and had alcohol at his station in the shop. That begs the question if he was drunk while doing mine.

My first tattoo at Skin Art was an original piece, and Soki helped me out. He was feeling very nice that day and offered to sketch a draft for me, just to see if I'd like it. Somehow this turned into hours of playing with different designs. Soki wasn't at all annoyed ( I would have been) and was just happy to get it just the way I wanted it! He kept me great company during the painful part and was just as excited as I was to see how great it turned out! My second tattoo I really wanted to get on my birthday, as I won't have another chance for a while. So I stopped in to see Soki and describe what I want, and he informed me that he is not scheduled to work on my birthday... BUMMER!! My fault for trying to book it the day before my birthday. So when I got home, I called to try and make an appointment for another time, and Soki offered to come in on his day off to make me happy on my birthday. He even let my little sisters sit in and watch him tat me up. So sweet of him. He's a really cool kid, with a variety of different genres of relaxing music, and a sense of humor (you need one to put up with me lol!) Oh yeah and the tattoo.... EVEN BETTER THAN I VISIONED IT! He is my official tattoo artist, as I plan on adding on to the piece he helped me create. This placed was recommended by my sister so when a friend went in to get his tattoo done, I went along for the ride to check this place out. The studio is very clean and the staff is friendly. Jason was the artist who did my friends tattoo and he did a great job. I booked an appointment with him and gave him some ideas as to what I wanted and where. When emailing him, he always got back to me within a day or two. After a couple of emails, he came up with this sick sketch for me. I went in to see it in person and it was better than what I had imagined!! The details on his sketch were amazing! Thanks to a cancellation, I was able to come back 2 days later! I was a bit nervous at first, being that this was my first big tattoo but Jason went out of his way to help me feel comfortable. He explained everything he was doing during our session so there wouldn't be any surprises. The outline of my tattoo looks incredible!! I can't stop looking at it! I've gotten both of my tattoos here, and both of them turned out beautifully. Ed is an incredibly skillful, creative, friendly artist who makes the experience pleasant and stress-free. He is incredibly accommodating to whatever your individual needs are as a customer and the product of his work is exactly what is asked for. I came in for my first tattoo with a highly mediocre sketch of a vine I drew as a reference, and from that concept, he crafted a very artful, elegant tattoo. For my second tattoo, I brought in a digital picture I found of a redwood tree silhouette, and through quite a lot of extra labor, Ed made it happen, and the end result was exactly what I wanted. Upon my recommendation, my boyfriend went in to Skin Art Studio and asked for a large, intricate tattoo of the symbol of "the Secret", a red, wax stamp, and it came out hyperrealistic, beautiful, and flawless (also done by Ed). I began a very large piece on my right side over 18 years ago. It went from my upper right arm pit; all the way down to my hip. It went across across my chest (past my right nibble) to the center of my back. It was a horrible mess. Over the years I have gone to other Tattoo artists who would not touch the work. Stating "I have no idea what to do with that.". I gave up on it for years. Then I found Skin Art Studio, after talking about the work, spending time with the owner discussing what can and can not be done, I decided to go with Skin Art Studio, with the owner doing the work. I gave full permission to do free hand work. I have done 2 sessions so far, 1st was 3 hours, 2nd was 2.5 hours. I could not be happier with what Khoa (the owner) is creating. I am comfortable, happy and extremely confident that I made the right choice by going here. When my daughter turns 18 and wants a piece, I am taking her to Skin Art, No Doubt! read more

I went in here to get my first tattoo done. I came in as a walk-in on a Tuesday afternoon and they took me in immediately. The guys at the front desk were very professional and entertaining. They worked me through all the paperwork, and asked me alot about myself and my tattoo. I got set up with one of the artists, who recommended that I enlarge the size of my tattoo as it might not be readable at the size I had desired. I agreed. I wish I could remember the artists name, but I will never forget the fact that he is probably the only tattoo artist in the business with no tattoos himself. But don't let that mean anything, he did AMAZING work on me. I got a quote along my ribcage. He eased my nerves and kept a steady conversation with me through the whole procedure. He was very professional and a perfectionist. The tattoo came out beautifully. It was a bit pricey, but definitely worth the price. read more

I've had Sarazah tattoo my inner thigh and for as sensitive as an area as that is, she had a gentle touch and it's been over a year and the colors that are in it are still vibrant and bold. She also made the session more comfortable by playing movies on her computer and leting me choose music i wanted to listen to, most relaxing and comfortable tattoo session i have ever had. I've also had Kuah work on me, and he was patient with my sizing and every time i go in there he's always personable and a joy. : ) He has a gentle touch and it hasn't quite been a year but his colors have stayed bold as well. So I wanted to get my first tattoo, (mind over matter on the back of my neck). I tried some other places which advertised walk-ins, but these were the only guys who actually followed through. The guy I had (forgot his name...) was super friendly, made sure to check up on me, and gave me a lot of good information about how to care for my art. I'm considering going back for more, and couldn't be happier. The only reason I'm going with a 4 stars is because for my little tattoo that took maybe 45 minutes (two words and a line) I was charged $150. I'm not sure if this is reasonable, but based on prices friends have given, it seems a little high. read more

It's nice to know some tattoo shops still care about customers. After my regular place closed I went on a two year search for a new friendly up beat place to get ink done. Finally found it. These guys genuinely cared and were excited about my sleeve idea. It's nice to see enthusiasm in a craft so dominated by the snobby elitist artist that plague MA shops. Soky is amazing and deserves the acclaim he is receiving. My tattoo is crisp, vibrant and was almost painless. The price was shockingly reasonable. I really like this place and highly recommend them. I had a partial bracelet done on my wrist and it came out great! Ed did the work and he was very helpful and patient with the design (the script was too small). Last year I visited the studio for the first time. I was welcomed by a female (forgive me I cant remember her name), who brought me back and said she'd be doing my tattoo. Im annoyed because it didn't heal well. i'm a strict rule follower, and kept the covering on for about 4 days. Have cleaned it and cared for it properly, yet the inside didn't keep the ink. I talk to another tattoo artist here in Nevada and she said it was probably because the skin swelled and he wasn't able to get it properly. now I'm having to pay more to get it filled. $100 plus tip later + what i have to now pay to get it fixed. I will say! all of the other girls' tattoos healed beautifully. i'm not saying don't go, but don't go if you're help not local I can't get it fixed.

I've got 95% of my canvas done by Justin and continually will still be adding more pieces. Shoot, when I'm out of room, we just going to go over everything haha. He's the artist you want, attentive, creative, been in the game long enough that he'll tell you straight up if the jumbled ideas you might have in your head will make for a good tattoo, then tell you how to make it a great one. Justin has a keen sense when your pain tolerance is shaky or you sit like a champ and adjusts his needlework to accommodate each client, least that's my opinion and experience. I trust this shop 1000%. Never disappointed, created a bond. BOOK NOW, BOOK AGAIN. Join the fold.

It's actually taken me almost a year to even write this review, but the experience was negative enough that it still stands out. The biggest issue was the artist, Red. The interaction felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Instead of listening to what I wanted, he became emotional and tried to pressure me into getting a tattoo design I clearly said I did NOT want. At no point should a client feel pushed or manipulated into something permanent, and that's exactly how this felt. The quality of the tattoo itself was also disappointing and not what was discussed. This is something I now have to live with, and I regret choosing this shop. On top of that, there was an issue with my deposit. I was told there was no record of it, even though I had proof of payment. That situation alone raised serious concerns about how they handle customers and their money. To make matters worse, the pricing is extremely high for the level of service and quality provided. In my experience, it was absolutely not worth what I was charged. The overall environment felt unprofessional. The experience did not inspire confidence, and based on what I saw, I would strongly recommend people think twice before booking here. There are too many good tattoo artists out there to risk an experience like this. I would not return.

Whoever did the decor knew exactly what they were doing. Its a nice sleek esthetic. We did a walk in and they took us right away. There were 3 of us. You sign the waiver, give your ID and then youre on your way. Really just a cool bunch of ppl. Make sure you stop in or check them out on IG or their website. Most of my tattoos are from out of state or country. However, now I have a go to for tattoos at home which might be dangerous.
