We have now been through two rounds of negotiations with insurance and Cliff informed us each step how to increase the odds of getting a fair deal : 1) how they would offer only 50% initially what should be paid, and 2) he then responded to the insurance by listing items they left off, and reasons the should be paid for. In our first conversation on that Friday afternoon, he assured me he'd have someone out to evaluate the roof "early next week". Soon after ending the call, Shawn texted me that his guy could be there THAT afternoon. We set a time for the evaluation which the evaluator arrived early, nice surprise. He determined the leak feel within our contract warranty. The next morning workers arrived from both SAW and the subcontractor to remove solar panels, perform repair and reinstall panels. Wales Home Solutions staff…read more Getting bids and choosing a roofer was not something I ever had to do before and I was taking things slowly and cautiously after hearing so many roofing company horror stories. Additionally, we are in the Austin area, which is semi-new territory for J. Wales. Derek, our sales person, got up on the roof with our insurance adjuster and made sure we got every penny we were entitled to. I was still checking with other companies though and did not respond back immediately. Derek checked in periodically, but never pressured us. When we finally did decide to go with J. Wales, Derek and Project Manager Tony came to our home, went over all of our options, and answered all of our questions. After doing the paperwork, Office Specialist Shanda helped wrangle all of the paperwork for our mortgage company. James and crew worked hard getting the roof done and cleaned up very well. They left nothing behind but a beautiful roof. Everyone at J. Wales was super professional, efficient, patient, and very nice. It was a pleasure to work with them! We went with the steel slate tile. It is less expensive than standing seam, but still has concealed fasteners that will not rot out due to exposure to the sun.
