Out of habit, I forgot I needed to set up another energy account beyond PGE, so I had no propane service. Over the Christmas break, when I had my highest-ever paying renter present for a one-week stay checking in at 4 pm on a Saturday, for reasons I cannot explain I asked the housekeeper to photo the propane meter for the first time. It was at absolute zero! I called all propane sellers that service the area - there were 4 or 5. At least two said best case was a week later, others would not commit to any date until they did a site visit first some 4-5 days later. Kemgas, on the other hand, had 100 gallons in the tank within three hours of opening and my first call Monday morning, and 330 more a day later. They saved me thousands of dollars of rent I would have had to refund my guests (who could not have found another place to stay there during Christmas/New Years), and those same guests have said they plan to come back many times. Our propane tank gauge read 30% full, so I was waiting to order a refill until Spring, but then on Thanksgiving Day (luckily just after we finished preparing our multi-course family feast) our propane RAN OUT -- no stove top cooking, no fireplace (our sole heating source), no hot water. I called Kemgas Friday morning, left a message with their emergency service, but since their office was closed for the holiday, I figured we were out of luck (and heat) for a few days. Imagine my surprise when, less than an hour after my message with their emergency service, I received a call from Kemgas informing me that they had a driver in my area that day who then arrived within 90 minutes to refill our tank and then took the time to help re-light our various propane fixtures. I couldn't find it so I went online to find the part and discovered this was NOTa Milwaukee chainsaw. It was a knockoff fro china that looks like a Milwaukee. I went to the store to see if I could exchange it but the manager swore up and down that that saw did not come from his store. I argued with his denial until he had an employee call the cops. They showed up and informed me the only recourse I can have is to file a civil suit. That area I didn't want to go. I called Milllwaukee and told stores can have sales and replace the items in the box. I told this to the manager at Mendo Mill and he got offended. I left frustrated and no better off. His denial of me getting that chainsaw at that store really got me going. Not having the receipt didn't help but still...even this week they're having the same sale. Go figure!
