Instead of waiting in the hot Texas sun outside a glorified rabbit hutch, now you can go inside an air conditioned mini mart to buy your snacks, drinks, pay for gas, or get your Lotto tickets. It's really nice inside. The new pumps are cool, and have tap pay with your credit card. The screens are easy to read. This is a nice improvement over what was there before.

I mostly go to the "Y" Drive In to fill up our propane tank. There are fewer places since the pandemic where you can take your own tank to refill. The folks at "Y" Drive In always are friendly, positive, and helpful. Just go pay for the amount you need, and then show the receipt to the friendly attendant, and they will take care of it. It's great to find a place that has both a good product and excellent customer service. That's the difference between a chain store and one that is locally owed and operated. No whining at the "Y"! Murphy Gas is located at the NE corner of Hwy 281 (I-69-C) and Canton in front of Harbor Frieght and across Canton Road from the Walmart Supercenter. The clerks here are usually efficient, occasionally friendly. The premises are well maintained and landscaped. No bathrooms. Other than that, in spite of being a regular customer, there's not much else to say.

It's on the west side of the Expressway. Tractor Supply has all kinds of ranch supplies, supplies and feed for livestock and all kinds of pets, including veterinarian type items (dewormer, flea and tick treatments, etc.) They're one of the least expensive places for dog food. In fact, you can bring your dogs in on a leash (ours was intrigued by the baby chicks for sale), and they have a dog wash studio in the back where you can wash your dog. Since I mentioned baby chicks, they usually have some on hand along with supplies for your own chicken coop. Yes, it's a place where you can pick up chicks... I like to browse their clothes section which specializes in work and western wear for both men and women. They even have boots, hats, belts, the whole outfit. Of course, lots of work boots. There is always a few tables of stuff men like such as tools, baseball caps, tape measures, and things which are great stocking stuffers for men. They usually have a nice selection of country home style decorations, and a garden section which sells both vegetable and food plants as well as flowering and landscaping plants. Leading up to Christmas they sell live cut Christmas trees for some of the best prices around - though the selection is not as extensive as other places. They've got lawn mower, zero turn riding mowers, wheel barrows, fencing, stock tanks, and the list goes on. They also have tools, hardware, work trailers and hitches, etc. It's really worth the drive to check them out. The staff is always helpful and courteous. I like Tractor Supply and think you will too!
