We rented our mandap setup and ordered our garlands (malas) for our wedding from Fern N' Décor. Our main contact was Sharan, one of the owners. This is a family business, in which they treat everyone like family. Sharan was flexible on pricing, walked us through our needs and wants for our wedding. The day of the wedding, the weather was speculating rain and the delivery guys for the mandap stayed onsite (after setting up outdoors) to ensure they were there for us in the event the rain came. I even asked the guys to not say the forbidden four letter "r" word and instead say a prayer for no rain, the delivery guy called me when I was back in my Bridal Suite and said he just called his mother and asked her too, to pray. The sweetness, the thoughtfulness and the overall demeanor of this company is just amazing. Not to mention, we price shopped for mandaps and this company does NOT overcharge. They are honest and have amazing service. We recommend Fern N' Décor to every Indian Bride and Groom. In fact, we have another friend whom we recommended them to and they too were just as pleased!! read more

Incredibly pleased with the services of fern'n'decor I hired them recently for a Halloween performance involving different acts. I was afraid I would not find what i was looking for anywhere. Until i saw what they had to offer and was sold immideatly. They outdid themselves with the stage decoration and lighting,  it fit my theme perfectly and looked excellent in pictures and videos. I am very picky, but with the excellent job they did I will just continue to hire them for different events and performances. I am excited to see what else they have to offer. JUST PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN AND TEARS!!!! Do not book with them! I have waited a while to write this review. I didn't want to waste my first few months as a newlywed thinking about this place. I will start off by saying this. I went to Fern N' Decor because I didn't give a a s*&( about my wedding reception (I had a smaller wedding the year before). They were reasonably priced and came recommended. I wasn't a bride that cared about every detail - I just needed a reasonable decorator that could provide the minimum (i.e. flowers and stage, etc). To keep it short, I paid for services they didn't provide (i.e. flowers on my cake and cake table, flower petals on all of my tables, etc.) and the services they did provide were subpar. I arrived at the reception hall very early before my event to take pictures. I noticed the missing items and called them. I was put on hold for almost an hour (when I should have been focused on my photos) and then they never responded. They had more than enough time to come and remedy the problem before my party started but they did not. Besides not providing the items I paid for, one of the most embarrassing things they did was provide a gift box which that was broken, cracked, and missing a leg. It looked absurd! What did they do to the box? Run over it with a car? I can't believe they provided this to a paying customer. It was so embarrassing because this is something literally all of my guests saw because they had to come up to the box to place their cards inside. These people are shady as hell and they will not provide you with a contract. I specifically asked for one and they said that it would cost more if I did. Now I understand why. The worst. HORRENDOUS DECOR COMPANY. DO NOT BOOK THEM FOR YOUR WEDDING! I was almost in tears on my wedding day because of how terrible they were. Though I got married several months ago, I'm still upset because I see their disastrous work in my wedding pictures every time I look at them. The flowers and decor that they provided were completely contrary to what I requested. I had sent them pictures of the exact colors we wanted for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and altar flowers. I confirmed the colors with them multiple times, to ensure that they knew exactly what we wanted. Despite this, they got the colors COMPLETELY wrong. Instead of purple, they gave us light pink. Instead of plum, they gave us bright red. All my efforts of planning a specific color scheme went down the drain. We also specifically requested two white carpet runners, because the church aisle was really long. Instead, they gave us only one, and the white carpet stopped halfway down the aisle. It looked ridiculous. They were also terrible at communication. They waited way too long to respond to my emails and sometimes, they would just not respond at all. For something as stressful as wedding planning, you need vendors who are responsive. All of my other vendors always got back to me within the next business day. Instead of responding to my emails/calls in a timely manner, they called me the night before my wedding AND on the morning of my wedding to ask me the specifics of the flowers I had requested. This was completely unprofessional, as we had signed a contract which contained every single detail of our order. It added a great deal of unnecessary stress. After the wedding, we called them to ask them what happened with our order, telling them some of the things that went wrong. They promised to get back to us, but never returned any of our calls. She answered every text, every message and met with us and did the presentation exactly how we wanted our decorations. She provided us pictures of what she will deliver. THE WORST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE!!! 5 days prior to my haldi- she had asked for the final payment- like a naive person thinking they would be honest vendors- i sent the payment. On the day of my haldi- They did not deliver what they had promised. My husband was at the site and they completely ignored him when he approached them that the decor was not what we paid for. I had messaged pooja multiple times/called her/emailed her and no answer. On they day of my wedding- they cheated us on floral decorations which we paid for. They provided dirty seats and we were so embarrassed to have our guest sit on- the stage was incomplete and looked like a child assembled it. All our vendors felt so bad that we spent so much money on our wedding only to get cheated by crooks. And till this day she has not answered. The owners elder father tells you that he's in this business bc his daughter got scammed and was left on her wedding day crying! Guess what...you did the same to me. What they did setup included many broken and dirty pieces that they should be EMBARRASSED of. Set up was done an hour and half past the time guests had shown up. We had Fern N Decor decorate for 3 of our events and things certainly did not go smoothly. There's certainly a huge disconnect among the planners and the workers. Sure the planners are nice people but what's the point if they're unable to do a good job. The workers setting up the stage were still decorating at 7pm when the event was suppose to start at 6:30pm. The workers come unprepared and did not even bring all the parts of the decorations until we had to fight for it. And having to yell and fight with those workers is simply unacceptable on the day of an event. Definitely dissatisfied with Fern N Decor and would certainly not recommend them to anyone. read more

WORSE MISTAKE/ ONLY THING THAT WENT WRONG WITH MY WEDDING. I can go on and write a whole story about everything that went wrong-but I will list them below. Please if you want to avoid a waste of money, and stress for your wedding day or any event for that matter- look else where. 1. They are extremely DISORGANIZED & do not COMMUNICATE. No one in that firm has an administrative bone in their body. I pretty much wrote everything I needed out several times/ and got trapped into 1+ hour long meetings because they suck. They even messed up my contract. That should have been a red flag enough. 2. They OK you to death- I was given a guarantee / personal satisfaction promise- I even had a written contract- everything I asked for was done wrong (things that I specifically requested for design, pictures of the florals I needed, the arrangement of the stage, and delivery time just to name a few). 3. LATE delivery: the bridal bouquet only arrived at the church 2 mins before the wedding started, the altar spreads were delivered before the ceremony started - when all my guests were seated a man in a hooded sweatshirt places the arrangements in the front, and my corsages were bought mid-ceremony (that's just the ceremony- the reception is another story). There is NO way you can reach them the day of the wedding. 4 YOU ARE A DOLLAR SIGN- honestly, I worked in the customer service industry- they only care about your money. WORST DECOR COMPANY EVER. Do not waste your time or money. They're money hungry people and will not give you what you want. They're the only people that upset me on both my Mendhi and reception day. When me and my husband met with them at first I thought they were nice because they kept reassuring me that they would give me everything I want. The girl was OBVIOUSLY new and had no idea what the hell she was doing. She kept writing notes but again I got nothing that I wanted. When showing us pictures of their past work it was obvious how disorganized they were. They couldn't find pictures of their work and had to keep looking for 20 minutes to show us each stage or bouquet. I ended up not liking any of their work so I brought in pictures of stages I wanted for both events because they said if I had pictures of anything I would like they could do it for me. With lack of time I went ahead with them anyway and the result was terrible and I regret not trying to look elsewhere. None of the stages I envisioned was given to me. On top of that they're cheap. My bouquets were TINY. Again, showed them pictures and verbally and repeatedly told them what I wanted. And I don't mean things were slightly off here and there. June 16: It's so upsetting that it's been almost 3 months since my wedding (March 29) and I still have NO answers from the fern n decor team about what happened the day of my wedding. They showed up SUPER late- it was 5:30,my cocktail hour was about to start, and I was ready waiting to take pics in front of the stage, and they were no where to be found. Called fern n decor and they were like "we don't know where they are." When they finally showed up, they brought the WRONG stuff, as they admitted to my sister. I was supposed to have a platform, a light peach colored back drop, etc and they did not come prepared. They did a shotty and messy job because they were trying to get it done before people showed up. I showed up to fern n decor after being ignored for 2 months to demand a refund for my wedding day. I was told that they would get back to me and that was almost one month ago. Beware brides-- I know people who have had similar experiences-- I have told all of my friends who are getting married soon to not use them. They make you pay them in FULL a month before the wedding-- and then don't even do what they promised. So disappointed that I spent so much money. He told me "Oh we never promised you a platform & things you're making a big deal about" when indeed I was promised. He continued to say that they had never done a platform stage at the Water's Edge, when Harnain SHOWED me pictures of a platform stage at my venue. Excuse after excuse. He kept saying to me that I was making a big deal out of nothing. "Oh it was a little messy on one side of the top drapery"-- which I had told them I didn't even want them to do in the first place. When I brought up that they were indeed late, he goes " well we finished everything before people got up to the hall". Yea, they finished by the skin of their teeth. He said "Oh well you didn't pay that much anyway, you're making a big deal, it was only $3,000". You read correctly- he had the audacity to tell me that I didn't spend that much, so it's not a big deal. I'm sorry but that is A LOT of money to me, the fact that he acted the amount was peanuts to them was insulting. In so many words, I was told that because I wrote a bad review on Facebook, and management saw it, that was that. I have never met such unprofessional people in my entire life. To not even rectify the situation with so much as an apology is amazing to me. This is how they treat their customers, Fern n Decor was more concerned that I wrote a bad review on Facebook, not that I was an upset customer, whose wedding stage they ruined. Tried following up on what the company will do to resolve the issue with making mistakes throughout my entire event and one of their coordinators in so many words told me that it was my fault "for sending so many emails". Considering that they never responded to emails and I would have to call to follow up, I find this frightening for a company. I trusted these people to do what I asked. We payed thousands of dollars and told we were getting a great deal. I provided pictures of what I wanted and colors and was assured that everything will look exactly like what I provided. WRONG! The day of the wedding, the brooch bouquets arrived and were the wrong colors! My wedding planner had to drive to long island to get it fixed, but they were still the wrong colors. The brooches looked cheap on the bridesmaids' bouquets and there were no flowers. It was just brooches and cloth material. I was SOOO EMBARRASSED! I thought I was getting these exclusive bouquets, but I got these cheap things I could have made myself in 5 minutes. My bouquet was way too small. They added extra flowers that did not match the original flowers on it. AGAIN, EMBARRASSING! There were not many types of brooches on it, just one kind. It looked cheap and I was disgusted I spent so much money on garbage. The centerpieces were custom made and looked nice. They did not look like the pictures that were shown to us, but similar. I was very happy with the work that Fern n Decor did for my wedding. I had used this company for my home decor. The theme was colorful, and had lanterns with drapery. For my Mehndi Stage, the set up was also very nice- they work very well with the venue Antun's. where my Mehndi party was held. The most disgusting company I have ever worked with who ruined the decor for my wedding night despite the money we spent. I had almost 6 appointments with them to ensure that everything would go as planned even printed out pictures of how everything should look. Had hired these guys for my sister's wedding b/c the wedding decorator I wanted was already booked. We had them for 4 events which includes one at our house. I would never recommend these guys to anyone! They were horrible in regard to what they present and what they end up doing for you. They have the nicest staff but the way they operate and bullshit with excuses in terms of showing up late, not showing up with items, flowers, etc promised is inexcusable. The owner's son is unprofessional and doesn't know how to deal with clients. I had to seriously manage how everything was placed and send them back to get more items. It has taken me almost a year to post this review because it has been difficult to find the words to express how angry, frustrated, and disgusted I am with Fern N Decor. Zero stars is not a low enough review for their service and attitude. They ruined my wedding day and I was pushed to tears by the incompetence and unprofessionalism I had to deal with as the bride. I got married in August 2014 and they were supposed to do the flowers and decorations for my Hindu ceremony, which involves the construction of a mundup (a structure with flowers that the bride, groom, and priest stand under during the ceremony). This takes several hours to build. They had supposedly made arrangements with the temple to set everything up early in the morning prior to my 10:30 am wedding. When I arrived at 9:30 with my bridal party I saw that the room was completely empty and no one had even shown up to begin working. My sister attempted to contact the manager several times before she was able to reach anyone and when she finally was able to speak to someone there were no clear answers as to why nothing had been done. They arrived extremely late, attempted to blame the individuals at the temple, and delayed the start of my wedding by more than an hour. They did not even finish building the structure because we could only delay our guests for so long, so the ceremony took place under a structure that was missing the entire top section. They did not even bring all the flowers we had agreed on and were very unapologetic to me and my family. The worst part was how they conducted themselves after the wedding when my family attempted to get money back. They refused to return our phone calls and when we were able to speak to someone, we dos not receive an apology or an offer for a refund. Ultimately they refunded us less than 10% of what we paid, despite delivering at best, half of what we agreed on. They have since stopped returning my family's calls. I cried on my wedding day because of their horrible service and attitude and even almost a year later I feel enraged at how my family was treated on that day. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, TAKES NO PRIDE IN WORK AND UNPROFESSIONAL. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Fern 'n decor was by far the very worst aspect of my wedding planning process and I plead with every bride who reads this to spare themselves the aggravation and disappointment and instead scrounge up a few extra 1000 and take your money to a far more professional decorator such as elegant affairs. I knew I wanted to save as much money as possible on the sangeet and ceremony in order to afford a more elegant and lavish reception. I just wanted the bare minimum in decor for my sangeet and ceremony. When I told people I wanted the bare minimum and CHEAP, a few recommended Fern 'n decor. They seemed super enthusiastic in the beginning, blindly promising they'd give me everything I asked for. Then I went home and read horror stories about them everywhere and told them I would not be using them for my reception and that was the BEST decision I ever made for my wedding. They soon became incredible shady, writing everything down in pink sharpie on loose pieces of paper rather than neatly typing their notes. they could never get any of my details or colors correct no matter how many times I told them. They never made an effort to locate centerpieces that I asked for, and me and my mom had to actually visit 10 different homegoods to purchase our own vases for the sangeet centerpieces. My sangeet decor was so lousy and lackluster. I wanted a punjabi village theme, which had been agreed upon. The number 1 prop for the stage was a punjabi manji (cot). When I got to my party there was a victorian style couch instead, alongside punjabi lanterns and jugs. It made no sense. I messaged harnain of management and she never apologized even once and instead told me to go call some number (where no one answered) and said their manji broke the day before. You do not surprise the bride. You just don't do it. And if you do, you apologize sincerely. On the day of my ceremony it was even worst. Even though I had reminded Harnain of everything after calling her out for the lousy sangeet decor, they still forgot our milni flowers and now in photos we have those cheesy artificial ones that our temple had on hand. I literally sat there as I waited for the baraat to arrive and messaged harnain again to call her out on forgetting the flowers. She never replied. Someone ran in with the flowers finally at 12 noon. My ceremony ended at 11:30 am. Not to mention they can't do something as simple as get flowers and colors correct. I requested coral/peach roses in my flowers and they gave me these hideous tiny orange orchids. How is that so difficult to remember?? Maybe try typing it neatly rather than hand writing in a pink marker?? Don't even get me started on how wilted the flowers looked. My sister asked me if they had been left over from the wedding before us. And the drapes i requested in ivory were a combination or ivory and this ugly beige. Ivory and beige are not the same colors, Fern. if I wanted beige I would have specified this. Fern and Decor--I'm not interested in being reimbursed for anything, because honestly we hardly paid you much to begin with and I should have known that you get what you pay for. But you are by far the most unprofessional wedding vendors I've ever known. You take absolutely no pride in what you do, and i don't understand why you got into the wedding business in the first place. This is the most important day of someone's life, something they'll cherish forever, and you take no pride in making that day as special and beautiful as possible for them. Let me add just one more thing--We went with Elegant Affairs for our reception after feeling uneasy about Fern. They were so incredibly professional and blew me and all of my guests out of the water with the beauty of their designs. Shobha aunty at Elegant is a true visionary and I'll be sure to write her a wonderful review after this. ...Oh might I add one MORE thing--they show you photos of decor that they themselves didn't do.
